I would also strongly recommend against watching Irreversible as well. It's brilliantly made, but not worth the emotional trauma.

The men are my top three - so it really doesn't matter who wins. I want them all and would be happy with any, but if you match those three pictures up. Viggo would win hands down.

It, I was intrigued when I heard about it too, and there's that perverse urge you get when someone tells you something's really bad to see for yourself. (That's why I watched "Hostel" as well, although that was just a plain old crappy movie that happened to be extremely violent.) It's an incredibly graphic telling of a woman who is raped and brutalized and her boyfriend's revenge on the guy. It's told in reverse, so you see the violence at the beginning and work backwards to when they were happy and innocent. As DN said, it's brilliant filmmaking, but the subject matter... Rape, and revenge for that matter, tend to be romanticized in the movies. That is not the case in Irreversible. It's not stylized violence either, it's incredibly realistic. (Not that I've ever really seen anything like that, thank god.) Odds are watching it will make you physically ill. Sorry to go on about it so long, but obviously it had a very strong effect on me.
