Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I had a stalker once that I couldn't go to the police about because he knew VERY damaging and illegal things about me. If she has to run away from him, instead of dealing it like most people do (restraining order...) than the stalker probably has some really juicy stuff on her.
pm, fleeing the country because of some illegal or good smut a stalker has on a person is not necessarily true.
There was a documentary on LA stalkers and this one actress had to quit her job and leave town because a stalker (ex-boyfriend) was so dangerous that even the police could not do enough to protect her.
It was really scary for her.
i think 60% of the women i know have had an ex-boyfriend, ex-husband, random, etc crazy stalker of some sort ... sucks to be a girl sometimes
