First, gotta say how much I’m lovin’ these cranky-ass comments everybody’s leaving. You all make sinister voice-mailing Alec Baldwin seem like some sort of friggin’ pansy, by comparison. Particularly intrigued by all the Queen Latifah remarks that claim I’m the one who’s ultimately being antigay by writing Blind Vices about closeted celebs, making it seem like their actions are sinister and bad, therefore I’m the one promoting self-hating activities by gay people, and therefore I’m part of the problem. Screw that crap. Just the messenger here, babes. I mean, by that warped thinking, half the White House press team is responsible for the war in Iraq, just by virtue of reporting it, what a crock of BS.
And just to prove my point, here we go again—and babes, is it ever an evil delish one! Dimpled Drew is a most successful performer. He’s got it all, good wife at home, a family who adores him, looks, bucks, nice bod, cute face, what could possibly be missing? Uh, well, for starters, certain activities that involve the type of person Eddie Murphy’s infamous for transporting in the middle of the night: trannies. Transvestites, to be exact, i.e., men who dress in women’s clothing, often for the purpose of sexual pleasure and to perform lustful exercises for seemingly straight men.
You know the type these pretty hons hook up with: Dudes who pretend they’re all happy and het in their other life, all the while they’re getting down with male-male sex on the sly, and convincing themselves it’s OK, ‘cause the dude’s wear lipstick and a wig. You straight men just crack me up, particularly when they’re as stupid as Dimpled Drew.
See, D2, always deftly used an anonymous email account to set up his rendezvous with his fave tranny, let’s call her Maxi Knee-Pad. So, Maxi was always given strict instructions: leave the front door to her apartment open, lights out, candles only, then Dimpled would creep on in at the appointed hour and get serviced (a lot, and all the hell over, babes, pretty horny dude here we’re talkin’ about, hardly just a homo-curious lad, he’s an all-out slut!) and then slip away into the night, D.D.’s true identity undetected.
And it worked. Until one day, the handsome dumbass made a date with Maxi from his regular email account, which had his real name on it. Hmmm. Wonder how the fan base you’re, like, totally effing with by lying to them, would feel about this, Mr. Drew? Shall we find out?

HOnestly, now that he's married, I think Ted is outing alot of former lovers and that's really low IMO. This site proves there's tons of juicy gossip to dish, so I don't know why Ted is so obsessed with the outing stuff, Heath Ledger's death, and his constant comments about Angelina eventually dumping Brad.

I don't think Ted is outing former lovers of his own, but almost all of his outings come from the people who the celeb has wronged/dumped/etc. It's malicious.
The outing blinds that are based on public appearances (the first Toothy Tile) I think are fair game - the person "came out" even for an hour. It's these wronged lover ones that aren't so kosher.

Gavin Rossdale makes sense. In the 80s he dated Marilyn a gender bending pop star in the UK. Kind of a contemporary of Boy George. Didn't hear Usher was hooking up with that tranny Zac Efron?

I'm gonna defend TC. He's not outing people left right and centre randomly- it's the one's who are blatantly lying to a 'public' portraying themselves as one thing, yet behaving entirely differently outside of that. Yeah, that's Holloywood- most of us can see that. I find most of his quite tongue in cheek, not malicious. Remember, ALL publicity is good publicity!

Remember that Enty revealed that Gavin sees tranies like 2 years ago, that's why gwen stays blonde and is always done up because this is what he likes? the first thing i thought of was gavin. i think usher is gay but i don't think this one is him. i think it's gavin.

"a family who adores him" implies an older child, not a baby--Usher has a baby, Gavin has a toddler & a baby, so it kind of seems more like him.

The 3am Girls, goss columnists at The Mirror in its heyday, were HATED...and they were the most effective of the tabs. The fact he's gay helps him get away with it- but still doesn't make what he's saying/indicating/rumouring (a word?!) any less true :-)
I agree, Jax. That's one of the reasons why I find Ted so tiresome (even if I DO always read his blinds. They're more like weekly word games than actual clues to something real). EVERY single blind is meant to out someone, and the details are always so preposterous.

For that matter who tells Ent all of his blinds? Why are people calling bullshit on Ted C. while simultaneously reading and believing Ent's blinds like they are gospel? Ent "outs" people as well, if writing a blind about famous closet gays is what constitutes "outing" to you. And Ent writes at least eight blinds a week, compared to Ted's one or two. Hasn't anyone wondered how the hell Ent can have all these secret sources when as far as I can tell he/she scours the tabloids and net for stories and photos all day long and doesn't do anything else. Yet he is all-knowing, hearing and seeing things on sets and in bars and premieres and socializing with all these stars. Yeah, right.

I don't understand the indignation with Ted C. And perhaps he does feel some contempt for people who choose to live double lives and lie about their true nature, when he is willing to be himself.
ITA link. I would believe Ted over an anonymous "entertainment lawyer" I don't see it as an outing, just he gives us some fun gossip to ponder through clues. Don't get me wrong I like this site. Its fun but I doubt the veracity of it adn don't take it as gospel truth.
Saying that Gavin even though hes the obvious guess doesn't connect with the Aints whereas Hugh Jackman or someone connected to Nicole Kidman would.

I don't know how I feel about outing of any kind. I think a person's private life is theirs, and I'm not a big fan of outing anyone's past. Someone who's successfully kept any ugly secret from their past, for instance. Tabs, Ted or Ent get ahold of it and publicly embarrass them for what - fun? I know I'm a bit of a hypocrite saying this, cause I'm a devoted reader of CDAN, but I don't like seeing anyone humiliated in public.
Except for Joe Francis. Could this blind please be him? Please? Please??? I know it's not, but the universe would finally make some sense to me if it was.
Why read the blinds then? Blinds are ugly secrets. I think for some of the blinds they expose the hypocrisy of Hollywood in general, while others expose the hypocrisy of the manufactured image of the star. We've all known complete assholes who are terrible or have done very mean things to people yet they act like they're perfect. Blinds are means of bringing those people back down to earth - to reality. We know what an ass they are/have been, it's up to us if we continue to adore or admire that person or not.
Originally I wanted to post about that list on JJ's Dirt and why that wasn't slagged off as bad outing.
ITA with many of the comments about Ted C. being a bigot and hiding behind his own sexual identity to get some sort of "revenge" on his own or his friends' former lovers-gone-wrong. Talk about the self-hatred that tragically so often goes along with being gay or lesbian in today's world.
HOWEVER, the one area in which I can consider defending TC is in BI like this one. He mentions the subject’s "good wife at home" and the "family who adores him." Under those circumstances, whether the rest of the BI is true or just nasty conjecture to try to ruin a person's reputation/marketability, there are other (perhaps innocent, perhaps not) people whose lives are potentially being harmed. I'm not talking about a PR-arranged situation where the wife and fam are completely aware of hubby/daddy's extracurricular activities, or of an alleged Gwen/Gavin situation where things appear to be cool with her if he chooses to get his groove on in multiple ways. I'm talking about families who honestly do not know what's going on with their loved one, and who would be devastated to find out that he has been totally lying to them about his true self. Are these types of men, for whatever bitchy or personal reasons TC has for trying to out them, truly deserving of our sympathy?
I say all this as a (mostly) straight woman who would have very happily married at least three of my many gay boyfriends along the way, knowing full well that we would have had to have an "arrangement" by which each of us could have found certain satisfactions elsewhere. But for families who truly don't know that they are being deceived--if indeed they ARE being deceived--don't they have a right to know (as if they are actually reading gossip mongers like TC anyway LOL!)?
Ugh. Does anyone else remember TC's old column in Premiere magazine (somewhere around 1996/1997) when he actually used to be fun AND funny? What a sad caricature he’s become.
