What Is Lindsay Scared Of?
Although I have not written about it much, you are probably aware that Samantha Ronson got her ass kicked by a gossip blogger and had to pay fees to him. Well, apparently Ms. Ronson being the litigious sort she is, decided that it was her lawyer's fault that she got her ass kicked and so is suing him for malpractice. When her current lawyer loses that case, she will then turn around and sue him and it just goes on and on.
Anyway, as part of the suit, Samantha's old attorney is taking the deposition of Lindsay Lohan and Lindsay is freaked out about it. Freaked out enough to go to court and try and keep it from being videotaped. It is bad enough that all of us will eventually hear about it probably, but there is no way on earth she wants people to actually hear the words coming out of her mouth. Just channeled Chris Tucker in Rush Hour. That doesn't usually happen.
OK, so Lindsay is worried because she is going to be asked questions about the drugs that were found in her car the night of her infamous drug arrest, where they came from, how they got there, and what she did that night. In addition she will also be questioned extensively about the true nature of her relationship with Samantha Ronson. Interesting. So, what the hell does Lindsay not want the world to see? Do we really care who gave her drugs or how many she took? Hell no. That is old news. According to her filing seeking no video, she said it could cause her "unwarranted annoyance, embarrassment, oppression, undue burden and expense."
Annoyance and embarrassment huh? Well we already know about the drugs so how could she be annoyed or embarrassed about that? Uh oh. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Are Sam and Lindsay faking it? Is she walking in the front door with Sam and walking out the back door with guys? Is there something kinky about their relationship she doesn't want the world to know? Does Lindsay go home at night and dress like Michael? You know, put on a see through mesh shirt and pose? All I know is that it must be something big to go to the trouble of not taping the deposition. Even if there is no tape, someone will leak the testimony anyway.

I still don't know how SamRo lost that case, it couldn't have been more obvious of all people Mario Laviendeira wouldn't have any direct knowledge of who drugs were in the car on ANY night.
Anyway, I would imagine that considering she's been in rehab 3 times and there are multiple photos of her incapacitated, she's got plausible deniability, that her memory is impaired. She just can't remember.
She shouldn't have paid for the damages, which implies it was her drugs were hers.
If they were smart, they would just let this go as a learning experience, with a fat asshole getting a big payday. His 15 minutes are up anyway, in a year nobody will even remember fat fug Mario from Miami with the horrendous breath.

So let's see if I sum this up correctly:
Perez said that Sam totally was going to let Linds take the fall for the coke in the car when the coke was actually Sam's (and let's face it, Lindsay is the perfect fall guy for that kind of thing). Sam sues for defamation. Sam loses. She's now suing the lawyers and Lindsay wants anything she said kept a secret.
So assuming that is a correct synopsis...bloggers say crazy things all the time. It's typically really hard for celebs to prove defamation because SO MUCH shit is talked about them, it's hard to prove any one comment, true or not, is that damaging in a big sea of gossipy bullshit. I suspect that what Perez said miiiiiiiight have hit a little too close to home and maybe Lindsay got really pissed about it. So Sam sued to prove that it "wasn't true." Then she lost and I don't know if she is trying to prove a point to Lindsay still or if she's just completely unaware of the fact that Johnnie Cochran could resurrect himself and take it on, it still would have been a totally unwinnable case. Maybe some of both.
I am guessing Lindsay just doesn't want her depo to get out b/c when people print rumors it's one thing and you can always play it off as your typical fake gossip but when you have an actual deposition and you've actually done all the shit people say you do, plus some other stuff we may not have heard about, you may truly be screwed. What if she did something else illegal that night, she could be in big trouble? Who knows. Just sounds to me like typical Hollywood foolsihness and two people trying desperately to sweep a foot-tall pile of dirt under a tiny doormat sized rug.

You're right, Gayla, given the general stupidity of people, there are probably plenty of 'em who still believe she really borrowed someone else's pants, and she went to rehab for "exhaustion."
I'm just amused that the Samantha link in this blog brings up a box that says, "Is Lindsay Lohan pregnant?"

I am a court reporter, and how I would LOVE to report a depo like this one. Those are very few and far between.
What I don't get is: Why would anyone ask Lindsay about her relationship with Ronson? Is it of any relevance to her case? Is it anyone's business but theirs if they were already a couple before Lindsay went to rehab? If I were her, I'd refuse to answer any of those personal questions. They can ask her about the drugs and her dealers, because drug dealing is a crime. Being in a lesbian relationship is not, so why would anybody want to question her about it in court - for any other reason than being a voyeuristic a**hole?
