But Does Billy Bob Call?
Brad Pitt taped Oprah yesterday and apparently it was a good one. Oh, and as a bonus Cate Blanchett was on the show as well. There is a great recap of the taping which will air in a couple weeks but here are some highlights. Apparently Oprah thinks she is a woman of the people. She said that she would have invited Brad to be with her on election night on Chicago, but didn't invite him because she was going to be with "everyday people." The fact that she got there by limo didn't seem to phase her. How did Brad get there? Took the El and "was shoulder to shoulder the whole way." Umm, Oprah. When was the last time you took the train?
That was the first part of the interview and from there just took a nice leisurely stroll down a spiral that still hasn't stopped. Brad seemed sensitive to tattoo questions but made it clear he has at least one for Angelina. No one asked about the Billy Bob tattoo Angelina had removed or the one she still has in a very private area that stares Brad in the face sometimes if you know what I mean.
Brad said he can only handle being with four of the kids at once but that isn't going to stop them from having more. I wonder how that rotation things work. All the kids shuttle in and out like you were playing volleyball and rotating after every point. "OK Pax, you're up. Shiloh. You hit the showers."
Even though Brad did not appear to have a very good time, Oprah still held onto him like Bella onto Edward running through the forest as they left the stage. You like that? Yeah, I keep up.
Apparently Cate isn't a big enough star to get solo time with Oprah so she had to share her five minutes.

Oh, dear lord, I just read that first sentence as "Brad Pitt tapped Oprah yesterday and apparently it was a good one." Hey, it's not my fault - those last two posts put my mind in the gutter! ;)
Did you hear that SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT GUY SHE WAS LEANING ON THE WHOLE TIME? She just saw him standing there and figured he'd make a good leaning post. Unbelievable.
Oh Enty, I can't believe you're full steam ahead on the Twilight train. This hooplah is going to be harder to escape than the damned election.
Not that Brad needs any defense, but:
1. I can understand the comment about the kids. My sister, who lives across the road from me, has six kids, ages 16, 14, 10, 7, 4, and 1. As much as I love all of these children, the energy level required to pay attention to all of them is just in-freakin-sane. While it doesn't make much logical sense to want more children in such conditions, it doesn't stop them.
2. I like that he actually took the El. I would much rather stand on the El than sit there. I also never saw Oprah anywhere near a train in any of the time I lived up there.
3. Cate Blanchett is beautiful, talented and intelligent, and not nearly controversial enough to fill a whole hour.

mooshki, i read it as he taped oprah as in 'tivo'd' oprah and i still don't know wth he means. this is what enty gets for signing letters to gift as being from ted c. he's slowly morphing into him.
no kidding he took the el? damn, i would have hopped on the blue line had i known. (now the word tapped is appropriate)
oh, and about the guy she was leaning on? supposedly she had him on her show this morning. maybe harriet hellfire can fill us in if she watched it.
I think Ted has a highly contagious virus (well, actually probably more than one). It seems like everyone who writes a blind on the internet writes with a bit of Ted's tone. It's so funny; everyone hates him, but no one can escape his influence. Agh! ;)
i love him!! i agree with you - i see where people copy him all the time. and as far as clues go - i don't think anyone does it better than ted.
I would actually rather watch an hour show of just CATE, or Angelina. they seems far more interesting than Brad Pitt.
I don't get the brad pitt hype. he's nothing special.

molly, you're from Chicago so this is for you. There's no way that Brad can convince me he took the train in Chicago anywhere without getting mobbed. Where are the pictures from the paps following him on the train or pictures from cell phones of the people who road shoulder to shoulder with him? After all it is a public place.
I've taken a number of el trains in the downtown area and I KNOW that if Brad wasn't mobbed by fans on the train then he certainly can escape the paps any other time that he wants to.
I really don't think he's telling the truth about taking the el.

here's what i think. it depends. sorry, i know that's nebulous, but here are my thoughts. he could have taken it one stop. he could have been going against traffic so it might have been a light crowd, he probably took it after rush hour...and if he was wearing a hat and looking down, it might be easy to pass him by. the thing with the chicago el is...nobody expects to see any celebs on it. we're not nyc. at the airport, everyone i know is heads up looking around to see if they see either someone they know or a celeb, but on the el...no.
i think it's possible. i cant think of a good reason he'd lie about that. why do you think he'd do that...maybe i'm missing something.
or do you think he'd bullshit so he comes across more normal?
but that begs the question - did he stand in line with everyone else? i think oprah was wearing a backstage pass along with jesse jackson (who was obviously crying because the crowd wasn't shouting "jess we can"). if he got a backstage pass, then i think it's possible. no way did he stand out in that line for that long w/o being recognized tho.

As if Oprah Winfrey's awesome week couldn't have gotten any better, Brad Pitt stopped by Miss O's Harpo Studios in Chicago Wednesday for an interview to air Nov. 18. She tells the actor Angelina Jolie is clearly the love of his life and asks him if this is the happiest he's ever been.
I must've been totally clueless every time I was at O'Hare, because I never saw any celebrities (at least that I recognized). I did once run into Bruce Willis at Union Station. I nearly didn't recognize him, either.
kellylynn, i've never seen any celebs either but friends have seen them there. i've never heard of any sightings at union station - how cool. did you talk to him?
nomd, i just read the article enty links to and Brad says he took the tram "shoulder to shoulder". maybe that's where there wasn't mayhem - nobody can move when you're packed in like sardines.
No, I didn't. It was around two yers ago. I had just gotten finished showing my friend around Chicago (last stop - Joey's) and we were waiting for a train. We were walking up the hallway near the Great Hall while he was walking down. He was wearing a tux, and had a much-younger-looking brunette woman accompanying him.
As we got closer to each other, he kept looking at me, while I looked at him, trying to figure out why in the hell he was looking at me.
It wasn't until later that I realized who it was. He probably thought I was approaching him for an autograph or something. I hope it didn't hurt his feelings too badly when I didn't.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. My friend (a Dutch man) had no idea who Bruce Willis is. After I explained that he had been in the series of Die Hard films, Pim remarked,"He doesn't look like an action hero."
He was pretty cute, though.
