The Earth Will Still Keep Spinning

I'm sure somewhere right now the old Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears message boards are turning over their engines and starting to get some life back in them. All those message boards devoted to the couple remaining a couple have obviously been dormant for a few years now, except of course for those 50 year old guys trying to hook up with Britney and Justin look-a-likes.

You would have thought the earth was coming to an end with the reaction around LA that Madonna is bringing Britney and Justin back together tonight during her show at Dodger Stadium here. Ryan Seacrest went so far as to say it is the most amazing thing he has ever seen before. Wow. I think it is a big deal for the five minutes they spend together on stage, but is it a life changing event? I don't think so. Do I think it is going to lead to some kind of Britney/Justin reunion? I don't think so.

All this is going to be is a one off reunion thing. Think about when Christina and Britney performed together with Madonna. Did that lead to Britney and Christina being BFF? No. It was a one time thing and I don't think this will be even that good.

This is Madonna though at her very finest. I am constantly amazed at her promotion skills. This is a woman who has reinvented herself continually and kept herself in the spotlight through sheer will for almost 30 years. So, enjoy the five minutes but for all you Britney/Justin fans who think this is going to be a wedding harbinger, you need to breathe.

SO freakin' true. What does Madonna care if they see each other again? She just wants the attention. She's been milking that from Britney for years, ever since she heard how much Brit Brit loves her. She said "oh there's someone I can piggyback on" and voila, now we have Britney running around with stupid red strings on her wrist.

I heard she was good in San Diego. I'm not that big of a Madonna fan to pay $300, but I wouldn't mind seeing Brit and JT. I can't wait to hear who kisses who (whom?)

I really like that photo.

$50 says its a video reunite and not on stage just like the hoopla surrounding them announcing Brit was performing with Madge on tour months ago.

old hag will prob just throw a justin video up at the same time.

I have close ties to that woman have for years, and I can find nothing nice to say about her. Well, one nice thing. Has she ever done anything to me personally? No, but I have seen her in action and it is NOT pretty. I would love to post stories about her, but I can't. Do I like her music, yes. Would I ever speak to her, yes. Would I have anything to else to do with her, no. Believe me I have had the opportunity. She is so, so cruel. Does she care about what I think? The only person she cares bout is herself and what she can do for herself. She is a swirling blackhole of vapidity. Oh and she's a cheapskate. Something nice to say? She is incredibly polite, which only ups the creep qoutient. Find someone to say something nice about her, I double dog dare you.....

well i dont know the bitch and i'd agree Rare! i've learned over the years that having a 'hunch' about someone is almost always right.

the only good thing about her is her music and most if it is almost always produced by someone far more talented than she. does that count? lol.

I was a huge Madonna fan in my youth, before rock 'n' roll got me, and I would still love to see her live in concert. She IS kind of a big deal. I'm also sure all the stories about her being a complete bitch are completely true.

wow rare, I would love to hear some stories .. although I have always respected her for the fact that she stayed relevant throughout the years and the fact that she appears to genuinely care for her children, I never really thought about her a "real" person .. do tell...

No, it doesn't Jax. But thanks for trying!

No, she isn't a bitch. She ia a cruel woman, let me make that distinction.

I agree with Jax that this will be a taped appearance. Madonna is a control freak and would not risk an erratic Britney moment. Madonna is all about Madonna and Britney or JT's career is irrelevant.

I cannot stand her friends either. Gwenyth Paltrow you are a troll. Do you know how she got that part in Shakespeare in Love? Her whole career was built on screwing over her best friend. Oh, I'm in a bad mood today. You know what her and all of her stupid clique have in common? All of their husbands/boyfriends have cheated on them and dumped them publicly.

Love ya Rare. I have no intimate knowledge but I am a longtime celeb gossipmonger and I totally believe you. Cruel is a word always applied to Madonna and everything you say is consistent with what others have said over the years.

damn rare .. I dont know about the rest of the crew, but I for one and loving your bad mood .. lol

Can't say I'm shocked about Madonna. The world revolves around her didn't cha know? lol I've got a hundo that they won't appear on stage at the same time. Justin will perform 4 mins with her and Brit will perform Me against the music (I think that's the name of it). However, if they do land on the stage at the same time, I want a pick of Jessica Biel's head exploding. Hell, I would have loved a pic of her when she found out that this was going down!

What I've heard about Madonna from the industry ties I have echoes Rare Avis. She is very selfish and self-centered.

BlahFrickinBlah said...

Well shit, there is that old story of her making that record exec sign her contract while he was in the hospital. I think it was a heart attack. She wasn't even famous then so you knew the bitch had brass balls.

That picture reminds me that there actually was a time when the word 'trash' wasn't the first thing you thought of when you heard the name Britney.

Rare what you're saying is pretty much hand in hand with what many who have dealt with her have said/do say. One thing she doesn't inspire is loyalty. That's for sure.
I'll take a bitch over cruel anyday. Actually I would just ignore the bitch. But cruel? That's a whole other circle of hell.

I'm really not sure what she's done to give herself the perception of being a good mom. She strikes me as the type who isn't a mom but has to be God. No tv, no outside influences. Her children literally live in a world she created for them.
Zero idea how Guy put up with her as long as he did.

damn where were you a couple days ago??? lol.

I used to work with someone who went to high school with her and knows her family and considering all the wild Madonna stories she told me, it's a little strange that she's so strict with her kids. Isn't Lourdes due to rebel any second now???

califblondy said...

I think my co-workers who saw her night before last said that she already sings along with JT and Brit via video in her show. I think they're going to be there in the flesh. I caught that A.Rod is in L.A. too. What a coincidence.

Wow, I always took her for self-centered and self-promoting, but cruel? There's no excuse for that shit. I guess she'll be another one to blame it on not having a Mother.

Rare, I would so love to hear the stories, but I understand if you can't spill too much. I remember hearing crap when Madonna first got started and how she stepped on everybody on her way to the top.

Rare, I can't stand fishstick either. Regarding Madonna you can tell in her hard face that she is a bitch. I like her music but don't think I would like the person herself.

She's just another person using Britney for her own gain.

Can't stand M or Gwyn...believe any negative thing said about M and her music is un-inspiring since the first couple of albums. I love how Guy Ritchie is smiling in every pap photo these days....check out any previous photo of him and M together and he looks so glum. He should be urged to give katie Holmes escape tips.

Hey ENT, can you arrange for Rare to have a regular "fiction" post so she can tell her stories? You know, changing all the names so we still get all the stories without all the lawsuits?

selenakyle said...

...Brit, that is.

I saw her in concert for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was really excited because everyone kept going on and on about how phenomenal the show was. I was so disappointed. I really disliked much of the art direction and choreography. Did not live up to much of her previous tour footage. I'm sad that I missed her before she bought those cheekbones and started sporting veiny Rambo arms.

I'd give it about a 7 on the Madonna scale. Perfectionist that she is, she's capable of far better than this.

I don't have the impression that she's very pleasant to be around given the way she condescended to the crowd when she bothered to take a request. And by take a request, I mean only sing every other line of the chorus to "Express Yourself." That's two whole lines, kids, while trying to strum a chord on her guitar and mocking the front row for being in teary excitement.

I saw her back in the 80's. True Blue tour I believe...those times were a bit hazy. *wink* She did a decent show but it didn't blow my socks off. I wouldn't pay to see her today. No way.

Rare, I'm curious - what is your definition of the difference between a "bitch" and someone who is "cruel"? And which would you say is more prevalent in M's personality (although I'm sure I can guess the answer to that)...
