Lily Allen Learned A Lesson
The other day there was this big shindig in Dubai and celebrities flocked there like they were getting paid. Oh, wait a second they were. Anyway, as could be expected at an event where money is no object, the booze was flowing and it was free. Unlike Lindsay Lohan who was there, Lily Allen stayed away from the booze.
In an interview with GMTV in the UK she said that she has basically given up drinking at any public event. This was because of that little incident she had back at the GQ awards with Elton John. I think that is where it sunk in for her, but she has been hammered at lots of other public events prior to that one.
Apparently having that tape shown repeatedly all over the world made her realize that if she kept drinking in public, she knew she couldn't control how much she drank and there would be more incidents like that one.
So, Lily Allen is growing up and learning lessons. Who would have thunk it. Good job Lily.

I've got 50 bucks that says she's drunk in public by the end of the year.
I am fascinated by Dubai. People talk about the excesses of Americans, but we have nothing on them. They're scheduled to run out of oil in about 10 years, and it's going to be very interesting to see what happens.
Not many young celebs manage to gain any maturity these days. I hope Lily will be an exception.
I think it's interesting that she specified quitting drinking at public events. It doesn't mean she's given up alcohol, only that she's given up public intoxication.
Still, I think it's a good sign that she's telling the world, and it is always good to be sober in any business-related event.

Moosh, Dubai knows this hence The Palms and The World being built and dregging up more white sand than you can imagine. they are setting themselves up to be THE place to go on holiday for the uber rich.
You know how fickle the uber rich are, though. But I guess there really isn't any other place nearby for the Saudis to go when they get the urge to go skiing. :) I've got to admit, I'm dying to stay at the underwater hotel.
I really don't think Lily Allen has that big of a problem, though. She just likes to party, and happens to have a rather big mouth when drunk.
I hope she keeps her act together--she is talented, & not quite as obnoxious as some of the other celebs.
She looks so fantastic in that picture! Sounds like she learned her lesson. And rightfully so. Nothing wrong with getting your drink on but if you can't even stop yourself before you embarrass yourself, I'm sorry, its time for a change! for the sake of the career, at least.
geez, i learned a long time ago to not drink in public.
being a parrot head, i've seen some pretty bizarre public intoxications.
i also never take my clothes off in public unless my husband is with me, no matter HOW many beads i'm offered!
