Oprah And Larry King Battling For Jade Goody

Apparently Oprah and Larry King are each willing to pay about $1M to have an interview with Jade Goody before she passes away. According to her doctor's the cancer has now spread to her brain and she has less than four weeks to live. Meanwhile her husband was convicted of assault yesterday and so I guess he will be headed to prison. I know he just got out of jail after being in there for assault or something similar. I really hope that all of this money Jade is raising is kept in a trust for her kids and that her husband can't touch any of it or there will not be any left.

Fox was also interested in securing an interview with Jade but dropped out when the bidding got too high. I could see Jade being on Larry King because he has so many international viewers, but I don't think the average Oprah viewer has any idea who she is. I think Oprah's viewers would respond to Jade, but I also think the interview would probably take longer than an hour and Oprah would have to fly to London because there is no way Jade is flying anywhere. On Larry King they could just do it on a satellite, because let's face it, even if she were sitting right across from him in Los Angeles he probably wouldn't even notice her. I think they just point Larry in the right direction and say, "speak."

I also hope that she has protected the money she has saved for the kids. I guess if it was me in her situation, I wouldn't have legally married, it would have just been for show. That way I would know he couldn't get his hands on the kids money.

how long were they together b4 they married? i hope he did for love and not for likely inheritance and i hope to god she has an ironclad will.

I know that this is horrible what she is going through but I have a hard time being completely sympathetic to this woman. She's a horrible person who had to be thrown off of Big Brother in the UK because she was so racist to a fellow houseguest. Perhpas her illness will cause her to see the world differently. I feel bad for her kids mostly. They're about to lose their mom and this guy doesn't sound like any great shakes.

i thought oprah did not pay her guest? maybe she will contribute to the kids' trust.

Holy crap. She married this guy probably thinking she was leaving her kids in his good hands, and now she has to worry about this?

I feel badly for her, and any woman in her situation who has to wonder what will happen with her kids.

OT: Dr's is on and they're showing excerpts of Dr. Phil's interview with OctoMom. He's reaming her out.

i have mixed feelings when it comes to JG, mostly for the reasons stated by littleoleme & Shakey. i do hope tho, that the $ is put into a trust for the kids.

speaking of kids...is hubby the baby daddy, or is there a baby daddy that will keep the children?

q.s, i was just about to post that. maybe it's a contribution, as you say.

i don't trust her judgment, so i hope she has the legal docs in place to keep this guy from getting a cent, but if he's agreeing to raise her kids, and i've read nothing about who will raise them, then i think he's going to get some of this money.

eh- This shit happens everyday from here to Disneyland. This bitch ought to thank her lucky stars she got her cancer riddled ass on a 'reality' show so she could milk her dying for every penny she can.

I can't help but think of all the non-famous people who die of this and leave their kids with nothing but a void in their life and a stack of hospital bills.

The kids are being looked after by their father, Jeff Brazier. Jack tweed is out on licence from his original 18 mth sentence for assault, and has to live at his mother's house. He just got convicted of assaulting a taxi driver, but not sentenced yet. He's not going to be taking care of the kids. Jade only married him so OK would give her money for the pics. Now she's trying to arrange a christening for the same reason.

I'm sick of hearing the wretched woman's name.

She better have a trust set up for the boys I'm sure he's not the Father.
Aside from that I don't have any interest in reality celebs and that goes double for British reality celebs.

Pookie - The father of her kids, Jeff Brazier, will get custody - he's still very much in their lives and he and jade have quite a good relationship despite not being together.

I have the same feeling as you littleoleme. While cancer is a tragedy that sadly too many of us suffer, I am sick of seeing all the 'brave jade' headlines everywhere. And Jack Tweed (her husband) is a piece of scum, that hopefully will be staying in jail for a while. Also Oprah and Larry King are gonna have a hard time understanding what she's saying - even British people have a hard time understanding what she's saying.

thx, ms_wonderland, for the info.

eep. i had no idea...altho i'm not particularly surprised...i just hope in the midst of all this exploitation the kids are being cared for properly. :(

What the other Brits said so well.

Isn't it kinda transparent and fake that the whole wide world only cared about Jane Goody once cancer spread over her entire body? I mean really, under what other pretense would you EVER have heard of her being on Oprah or Larry King. Most of America doesn't even know who she is.

I remember this woman from the Big Brother racist remarks thing, and also that she and her husband did a photo shoot that mirrored Posh and Becks's and it was really pathetic. I hope her kids are okay after all this is over.

EL, i have a feeling the American Cancer Society won't be knocking on your blog for support anytime soon.

Between this and the Bachelor, I wonder just how much lower we can stoop in the name of 'entertainment'.
