Katherine Heigl Says She Has Quit Smoking
US Weekly is reporting that someone told them who told someone else who told their best friend's sister that they saw Ferris at 31 flavors and that he passed out. Oh, wait I lost track. Anyway, someone told someone that Katherine Heigl has given up her multi-pack a day cigarette smoking habit. I think that is great. Fantastic even, but I am not sure why you need to share it with the world. Just stop for the sake of stopping and not to get accolades from the rest of the world. Why? Because if you slip or something then the entire world of paps is going to get your picture smoking a cigarette and then bloggers are going to jump all over it. Just be happy you stopped and keep it to yourself. We don't need a day by day account of how wonderful you think you are for quitting.

I dunno, EL, if I had to give up cigarettes because Perez Hilton and all the other bloggers were breathing down my neck and making me look bad, I'd milk it for all its worth too. I might even if it really were "just for me". Its tough to quit habits, and those who do should take pride in themselves...at least for the positive reinforcement. At least.

Why is her smoking such a big deal? I thought pretty much all celebs smoke, that's what I've heard anyway. Y'know, to stay thin.

Hey, no problem. We smokers hate sanctimonious, holier-than-thou non-smokers who constantly feel the need to be the health police and mind everyone else's business.
Personally, if I was a non-smoker, I might be a little more concerned with pollution (LA smog, anyone?) over smokers, but I guess railing against polluters doesn't quite give you that sense of smug superiority that sniping at smokers gives you...right? Isn't that what it's all about?
I hate Heigl as much as the next person, but not because she smokes...because she's a cunt.
