Adam Clayton is Irish, not British--yes, there's a difference. Wouldn't "up north" be defined as Scotland?
OK - Adam Clayton was born in Britain & is not a singer; The Edge is Irish & married (IIRC) and both Gallaghers are married.
That being said - I don't have a clue who the BI is :)
North is definitely Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester. If the blind meant Scotland, I think it would say that. What about the guy from the Kaiser Chiefs?

Aren't there rumors that he's engaged? Take That was based in Manchester, so they could be the "northern" friends in question.
I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point if Robbie Williams was cross-dressing. And it certainly wouldn't be much of a secret, from his band members or anyone.
And once again, celebrities, why take pictures of yourself doing anything that might embarrass you if they were made public?

and the only longterm girlfriend Robbie has had is called Addiction.
I think whoever it is should come out with it and be all, "yep, I cross dress, so what? Everybody has some freakiness, and this one doesn't hurt anybody."

Ya know .. As a huge fan of Eddie Izzard .. I can only imagine how hard it was for him to come out as a cross-dresser. So this blind just really fucking ticks me off. FU Daily Mirror!
