What Do You Think?

Robbie Williams was on an Australian radio show and during the show he invited his girlfriend Ayda Field into the studio where he asked her to marry him. She said yes. Now Robbie's spokespeople said it was all a joke and that Robbie isn't getting married. So, despite the fact that Robbie's mom believed the engagement was real and was buying the couple an engagement card when spotted, and despite the fact Ayda and her family thought it was real, Robbie didn't so it doesn't count. I hope he isn't planning on staying with her very long because you can't take someone on national radio like that and then say it doesn't count.

Here is what I think happened. Listen to the show below and it sounds like the announcers kind of goaded Robbie into asking, BUT Ayda was not involved in that and thought she was being asked. Robbie's mom thought he had asked. Was it real? Was it a joke? Was only Robbie in on it?

I don't think he was goaded. You'd have to be a weak-ass man to propose just from joking pressure. I think he told them ahead of time. Publicity!

Bastard! Do breach of promise suits still exist? I'm sure Enty would have pointed that out, if they did.

I don't think the gf took this seriously at all. It sounds to me like everyone knows this is a joke.

I don't think the gf sounded like she was taking it very seriously, but I still think she could have a strong case for a breach of promise suit if those exist anymore.

Doesn't betrothed mean "engaged"? I honestly thought it did... He said will you be my betrothed until the end of time, and that would mean "we will be engaged forever"

in jungle-speak.
*shrugs*

Besides that, she seems to have a good sense of humor, but so do I and i was asked like that i would definately ask him after we went off-air if he was serious.

All of this seems moot since Robbie is GAY!!!! I hate it when gays take advantage and/or exploit straight females by pretending to be straight. (Non-celeb gays do this too- I'm talking to you David V.)

Robbie looks 50 on his latest album cover. he should come out so that my fantasies of him can be more fabulous.
