Today's Blind Items
This A list Academy Award winner/nominee actress was on a set recently and had just finished a shot. As she was walking back to her trailer she noticed no one was talking to her or looking in the eye. When she walked up to the set designer to talk to him he seemed unsure of himself. At that point our actress turned around and yelled at one of the producers and said, "Did you put up those damn signs for people not to talk to me or look me in the eye? I told you I hated those things. They make me look like a b**ch." Now that that is settled, dinner and drinks are on me for the cast and crew tonight. I'm sorry for the signs."

I don't know who the actress is this time, but Julianne Moore did something similar when she filmed Boogie Nights. She thought she had offended some people on set until she learned about the stupid "no eye contact" rule imposed by the director.

Coming from the stand point of a journalist who's sat (and passed) a fair number of media law exams, and put that learning to work for a good few years, I don't understand why this is even a blind item: there's nothing libelous in it that could risk a defamation suit; enough people are involved for it not to be in breach of any kind of confidentiality. Positive blind items are always suspicious - this screams of being circulated by the publicity bods of said "A list Academy Award winner/nominee actress".
@CityCouncil - out of curiosity - what have you EVER heard of Angie being a bitch on set? If anything, I've heard she goes out of her way to be nice to the crew, which to some people means she's "manipulative".

Kate Winslet isn't currently in any productions (from IMDB), so don't think it's her.
Could be Helen Mirren, who's filming Red...or Angelina Jolie (filming The Tourist in Paris).
Not that this as a blind isn't fun to read, but Mademoiselle V has a point: the blind was originally a way for newspapers to avoid libel by hinting at a celebrity's identity with clues. If brought to court, the paper could say "We never said it was he or she." A lot of blinds now are just stories without names.
That is totally awesome and she deserves to be outed so we can join her fan club.
Good lord, people. If you don't like the blind game, don't play. This will definitely be revealed in July, so he's only keeping us waiting for the fun of it all.

I had a friend who worked on a film with Angelina (a small role but direct scene with AJ) - she said that Angelina was darling. Told her to call her Angie and said if she needed anything to let her know. I doubt this would even happen on her set because she doesn't seem to have graces. Depends who the director is...

Ive heard stories about the riff-raff not supposed to be talking or looking at the "STAR" WTF is that all about?? It's ridiculous!! I'd probably get fired , but I'd tell them to shove it!! Nobody is that worthy, nobody!!! BTW what about Meryl Streep ?? Sounds like her or Sandra ..

i don't know who this one is, but i work in the entertainment industry and lots of celebs have these kind of "rules" sent to venues prior to concerts-ie: N. Diamond has strict instructions for no one to look him in the eyes or speak directly to him, also must have private elevator-

Most of these celebs need to remember from whence they came! If I was famous and tried to be a diva, my friends would put me in my place PDQ!
I used to work with an actor (he was a temp natch) he did a lot of extra work in big movies. Jim Carrey, Drew Barrymore etc..
And I asked him once about not being able to talk to the leads. The reason they do the whole don't look/talk to the star is, they are paying these stars A LOT of money.
The producers and directors don't want them being asked for autographs or pictures it takes up a lot time and distracts the actors. George Clooney could blow a whole day on set shooting the shit with extras and crews.
They want them focused and only working on the material. It isn't meant as a degrading thing towards extras or production crews. It is just business.
That being said. Whoever the actress is, is one classy lady.
And it ain't Reese Witherspoon.

I think it's Angelina because her caption in the random pictures is odd. I think it may be a hint.
I'm not sure that wasting the stars' time would be the main factor. Every star I've ever heard has complained about waiting around endlessly for shots to be set up.
Orginally it was based on the fact that, when actually filming, the actors didn't want to be distracted by people off camera. That was and is a perfectly valid concern. It seems to have expanded into "don't talk to them off camera" so you don't break their "concentration", rather pretentiously presuming that the actor in "in character" all the time. Therefore a lot of less talented stars don't want to be talked to because they presume it gives them an aura as a "serious" actor.
As for this instance, the actress may have to apologize to the producers. Normally the producers don't take it upon themselves to implement these restrictions. Most often they are standing demands from the star's agent or staff.
@Mina - While I'd love for this blind to be true, I can't help but be reminded of Sally Field in Soapdish when her character goes to the mall and Whoopi "recognizes" her so she'll get mobbed with fans wanting her autograph. I can totally see this blind being about someone wanting everyone to know she's a decent person and not a bitch so she set this up to further that.

My guess is Angie, but I think the whole thing is staged so she looks good especially with the possible split rumours going around with her and Brad.
After reading Enty's comments today about how down to earth Gwyneth Paltrow seemed during her time filming in Nashville recently, I want to change my guess to her. AwkwardBird, have you heard anything from your friends about this?
