John Travolta's Family Suffers Another Loss

Although it wasn't reported until yesterday, John Travolta's two dogs were killed in a freak airport accident. Last Thursday about 1 a.m., John's plane landed in Bangor, Maine. One of the family's assistants took two of the dogs for a walk. As they were walking, an airport employee came by in a truck and accidentally ran them over and the dogs were killed. The assistant was not harmed at all. No one knows if the animals were leashed or if charges will be pressed against the driver of the airport vehicle.

In the driver's defense, he probably didn't expect that two dogs would be running around on an airport tarmac in the middle of the night. That being said, I feel really sorry for John Travolta and his family, especially his daughter who probably took it really hard.

That is sad, but you are right in assuming the driver probably wasn't looking out for dogs, but he should have been looking out for people.

Oh, it is so hard to lose a pet, let alone two. My heart goes out to them.

If I was Ella Blue I'd be worried about my safety right now.

i don't blame the driver for this,at 1am on the tarmac, you could not see a leash, let alone a dog. tarmacs only have the necessary lights on to avoid any confusion to flights landing.

I think this family is just having their turn of bad luck. Normal people have it and since celebrities are supposed to be human and just like us every once in a while they find out that they can't control the universe.

It is sad for the family but judging from what I've heard of the story so far, I don't really blame the driver either.

Tragic. My sympathy goes out to all involved.

Sad. I feel so bad for the doggies. This actually happens more then we think. Airport workers are not always as careful as they should be with pets. I would be very nervous if I had to fly my pet anywhere. NOW, I'm not saying this particular incident was the employee's fault, I think the opposite. BUT I have read very sad stories about pets being handled like luggage, etc... :(

yes, but as scio doggies, they've already found their new bodies and are being audited as we speak.

i'm sorry, that wasn't funny, and i still feel horrible about the loss of their son. and i've had experience with airlines and how they treat animals. but this was a private plane, so not the same thing. i imagine this was a horrible accident, nobody really at fault. the dogs probably shouldn't have been out on the tarmac, but on a private strip, a driver should have been more aware.

@Julie, I believe they had talked about having more children in the past (prior to their son's passing).
