Ted C Blind Item

Seems like there's a diva on every movie set these days, huh? And we're not just talking big-budget flicks like Twilight, because some of these bossy babies are wreaking havoc on indie sets, too.

Meet Polly Luscious-Locks, one of H'woods hottest leading ladies and a real pain in the ass to deal with—in a number of capacities. Especially when it comes to matters of money, because P3 wants more, more, more. Like, now:

Polly is getting ready to shoot her newest film and the cute-as-a-button star is absolutely perfect for the role—which is why she knows she can get the studio to pony up a bigger paycheck to keep her happy.

But here's the prob:

Unlike Polly's other recent flicks—which have done fairly well at the box office and have definitely boosted her star name—there just isn't enough money in the budget to meet her greedy needs.

But sources super close to Luscious-Locks say she's bragging about how bitchy she's willing to be in order to get what she wants. So, since Poll won't take no for an answer, the studio is doing everything it can to scrounge up the cash—like ditching a Hollywood heavyweight that was supposed to appear in the movie for an actor they know will work for a much cheaper paycheck. And we do me much.

Ouch, not even our very own Pat Poisonpuss would pull this kind of stunt.

But it's not that kicked-aside dude we feel bad for—it's the film's director.

They've had to put up with their fair share of divas in the past and probably thought they were finally free of the drama. Uh, hardly!

Maybe it's a good thing the studio is keeping their lips zipped about Polly's part in this mess—so far.

Which totally works for Polly, because she's got an uppity image to protect. Not as adorable as you thought, not at all.

And It Ain't: Miley Cyrus, Dakota Fanning, Selena Gomez

nah, the And It Ain't suggest it's someone totally unexpected but in that same group, someone like Taylor Swift (maybe for that Sleeping Beauty part? I can't think of another role out there with someone so absolutely made for it -- Taylor and the fairy tale thing and the hair, etc. It has to be someone so right for the roll that whoever it is is certain she can get away with this.)

Until I read the AIAs I was totally thinking ok Katherine Heigl.

Everyone who's worked with her says they never will again. I just read an article recently that she can get a movie greenlighted by just signing on. I wouldnt say her hair is that great lately but I loved it in Knocked Up.

But, like I said, the AIAs make me think someone younger.

I like the Seyfried guess

Abigail Breslin?
Ellen Paige?

I was thinking Ellen Paige also. Or maybe Emma Stone? And Abigail Breslin seems to be right in that ballpark.

I'm on board with Seyfried too.

If it is Girl with the Dragon Tatoo then the Hollywood heavyweight would be Brad Pitt - but I thought he was still attached.

Carey Mulligan? She's on a career upswing and seems to have the inside track on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. David Fincher is directing and he had diva problems with Jake G on Zodiac. The male lead was rumoured to be Brad Pitt but now they are tossing other names around.

I think the key is the director who has apparently had public problems with actors/actresses in the past.

I'm with bloodonthescreen. Ellen Paige annoys me to no end and her nose is button-y. Abigail Breslin's a good guess too.

Maybe Amanda Seyfried? She's button-y with lucious locks. She always sticks her foot in her mouth!!

I recall another blind about Seyfried being very aggressive about money. So I'll go with that guess.

Amanda Seyfried? She's going to be in Red Riding Hood, which is directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who directed Twilight. Don't know whether its a small budget film or not though

My first thought was Seyfried.

Amanda Seyfried FTW!

@jannjeanettej - Word is that Pitt passed and it's Daniel Craig who may take the role of Mikhael.

Why would Girl with the Dragon Tattoo be low budget or indie? The book is a mega best-seller, so the movie should do really well. I don't see why anyone should lower their asking price to be in that film.

Could it be Zooey Deschanel?

i'm with Amanda Seyfried train

@fluffy elmo: Fincher didn't have diva trouble with Jake Guyllenhal but Guyllenhal was tired to do 79 takes or see his 30 first takes eliminated!
But RDJ was a diva during "zodiac":he didn't know his text, was in late and said later working with Fincher was as a goulag(but he liked the goulag)

Luscious locks makes me think of that redhead who got axed from New Moon. Oh yeah, Rachele Lefevbre?

Amanda Seyfried ftw!

This blind doesn't sound so bad to me. Ultimately, acting is her job, and she's demanding a paycheck that apparently the studio thinks she's worth, or they'd fire her. I'd sure negotiate to the bone for my paycheck, and I don't think that's "greedy," I think it's business and the nature of employment.

I sort of agree with heatherhug. No one is holding on gun the studio heads. Actresses have to maintain a completely unrealistic body weight. Their self-life is short, especially if they are only moderately talented. You make hay while the sun shines. The studios wouldn't think twice about kicking her to the curb if she gained eight ounces or developed crow's feet. For what it's worth, I agree with those who think the high-profile project is "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo."

RJ said...

That should have been "shelf-life is short."

@RJ: I think you were right the first time!

Seyfried, from murmurs I've heard...

My first thought was Carey Mulligan, before I saw the AIAs. I don't know what she has to do with any of those people.

I immediately thought of Carey Mulligan too.

I agree with heatherhug. Actresses are held to ridiculous standards. But here's what I don't understand. Why the hell would you negotiate your salary AFTER you signed on??
