3 Kids Fly By Themselves Without Anyone Asking Questions vs A Very Lucky Russian Woman

You would think that Southwest airlines would ask at least one question when a 15 year old, 13 year old and an 11 year old show up at the airport with a wad of cash and buy three airline tickets. Nope.

Think you are having a lucky day? Does not even compare to this Russian woman who avoided a car accident by sheer luck. (Thanks robert)

all airlines suck these days, and i hope sw mans up serious $$$ for that...but more disturbing...these kids are from fl...home to some of the top amusement parks in the country...and they wanted to go to DOLLYWOOD, seriously?

eeep. that day was sooooo not that lady's day to die...but fear is a funky thing...why did the she leave the scene?

dollywood is a NICE park, and different than disney and universal parks. pigeon forge is a nice area.

I don't think that Russian lady was JUST lucky. She was also alert and quick. She left the scene because she was probably pretty freaked out.

^i'm sure dw is lovely, as are its surroundings...and maybe i'm just too much of a city girl, but i can't think of any 15 yr olds and tweeners whose 1st choice would be dw, that's all...apparently those teens do exist tho!

Wow...someone was definitely watching over the russian lady.

I would LOVE to go to Dollywood! My mom wants to as well but "only if Dolly is there!".

That instantly makes things more complicated.

wow that is sheer luck for the russian girl.

dolly is there periodically. just call down dw's reservation line. she will never let her fans down, unless she was sick and could not make it. she's one hell of a bizwoman. i don't care for country music, but she helped an entire area 'come up' based on her park. gotta respect that.

At least the 15 year-old used her own money

The Russian woman probably didn't realize just how close she was to getting hit.

I can't blame Southwest for the kids ability to fly without their parents. There are way too many kids that fly by themselves due to divorce, but once the kids are 12 or older, 'unaccompanied minor' status isn't required and really isn't necessary in most situations.
How were the Southwest employees supposed to know that it wasn't the one of the kids' less responsible parent just sending them to the other parent due to custody arrangements? Would you raise that type of issue with a kid? (For me: maybe, maybe not)

That is one lucky Russian lady.

I get hit by a car crossing the street and after I got myself down from the hood I walked away. It hurt like hell the next day and didn't even get the driver's name.

Shock is a weird thing.

haha, they flew into the wrong airport. Is that bad I'm laughing? I've never been to Dollywood, but I have heard its not so bad! Now, if they were going to Ghost Town in the Sky or Santa's Land THEN I'd maybe make fun of them for destination choice.

I can't believe she just walked away.

I don't care that SW let them fly, most 15 year olds don't need to share their business with an airline. I care that their parents had no freaking clue where they were or what they were doing.

Good questions Lauren, and why the heck didn't they miss their kids until one called from Nashville? It's not THAT short of a flight, is it?
