No More Real Housewives Please

Apparently what was once going to be a new series on Bravo which happens to take place in Miami is now going to be Real Housewives Miami. Enough with the Housewives. Yes, I like the show. Yes, I watch the show, but there are so many now with more cities on the way that it just gets way too confusing to keep up with each one and each episode is repeated so often that I feel like Bravo/(Slice for those of you in Canada) has become nothing but Real Housewives all the time.

Everytime there is a show that becomes popular and cheap to make, networks go crazy making more and more of them until everyone is exhausted, stops watching and the network wonders why everyone stopped watching. Do you remember when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire first aired? It was a sweeps thing and everyone loved it. People would probably still turn in to watch it in record numbers if they had not decided to put it on all the time at night and even a daytime version. People stopped watching it and now it is just a daytime find it if you are lucky kind of show.

Remember Queer Eye? Great show until Bravo started showing it almost every day. When I look at my TV Guide there are basically three shows on hundreds of hours each week. CSI, Law& Order and Real Housewives. I bet there is not an hour in the day that at least one of those shows is not on the air. Meanwhile, a great show like Lone Star gets canceled after two weeks.

Oh, I wanted to watch Lone Star. It's gone already?

Sad. Yes, miss Queer Eye before it jumped the shark. RH jumped the shark with Jersey certainly and DC, of course. Maybe Miami can put it back on track. Dallas could help. How about RH of Edmonton? Vancouver?? Toronto???

I loved Lone Star. All the shows I like always get cancelled. The Nine, Life on Mars, Jericho and too many other to name! I am sick of this! I just want to tell all the network execs that not everyone out there watching has the attention span of a gnat!! soo pissed of right now

I wouldn't really want to watch a RHOToronto. I see those assholes everyday, thank you. They're boring, entitled, and stupid.

For those of you who watch Slice, ever see Beautiful People? It's so horrendously shallow that part of me hates myself for watching it, but the shallow part of me wants to submit a pic, just to see.

This is exactly how I feel about the darn Kardashians and the E! Channel. E! used to be one of my favorite channels. Now it's Kardashians 24/7. I really don't want to keep up with them....please stop!

Don't any of these women realize how absolutely horrible they appear on that show? Each and every one of them, regardless of the city. No good can come from being a "star" on RH.

@ Madeline, I agree about E and the Kardashians. I hate it that they are on there 24/7. Gag.

I'm thinking about approaching the producers to do The Real Housewives of South Central LA. I think that would go over very well. And if that's a success, then we can do The Real Housewives of Appalachia, The Real Housewives of Maine and finally...The Real Mistresses Of D.C.

This is why I can't stand watching reality TV shows. They're vacuous, uncreative, and unoriginal.

Meanwhile, David Simon just received a half million dollar grant and a "genius" award for creating "The Wire". How many TV producers can say that?

@Karmen - that's terrific - loved "The Wire" - now that was some good writing!!

I completely agree. I've always watched the Housewives shows. When DC Housewives came on however, I didn't last the full first episode. I also lost interest in Jersey Housewives, and I really liked that show's first season.

I find myself much more interested in MTV's reality shows.

The Wire is excellent.

I would watch RHWTP. (trailer park)

I so agree with folks about e and the kardashiams! E was one of a couple of goto channels I would browse through. Now I only watch the soup once a week on TiVo. Same problem with vh1, which has turned into a vortex of repeated suck. And I can't stand bravo anymore, because I don't give a crap about the socalled real socalled jousewives from wherever. I love me some good reality tv, but reality quality has gotten really crappy lately

I'm just faithful to the OC and NYC ladies. I still vote for the RH of Compton as suggested by someone here. I plan on watching the Beverly Hills' gang depending on the schedule.

I have a hard time watching any new network shows because why bother getting attached and then it's gone after two weeks or the timeslot keeps changing until you can't find it anymore? Look at what happened to Ugly Betty. It had a great timeslot before Grey's, but ABC had to screw that up. I loved "Life on Mars", but that went out the window. "Lonestar" looked good in the previews, but I guess I'm too late.

And the networks wonder why their ratings are down.

@califblondy - That is so true about the network shows!

Well, since most of the RHW shows do really well, I guess Bravo figures if it ain't broke don't fix it.

@Karmen - that's awesome. I randomly think about The Wire all the time and its characters. Best.tv.series.ever.

they should take it internationally and show the badly-behaved-ugly-classless-yet-wealthy-exhibitionist pigs throughout the entire world. i bet real housewives moscow would be the kicker - or at least the most dramatic....

I watch the NY and NJ housewives. Never too to the OC ladies and I jettisoned the DC show after a couple of episodes. Too dull, even considering the crazy gatecrasher housewife.
