Real Housewives - Beverly Hills

Wait, Kyle stole Kim's house? WTF? If you are like me, I was pretty bored last night watching the show. I actually could not believe they stretched it out for an additional 15 minutes. I was like just bring on the reunion show so we can see some fighting. The only thing worth watching in the show was the last five minutes when Kyle and Kim got into it. So, Kim is an alcoholic who lost her home to Kyle's husband but he sends her money every month. That was my conclusion after the whole stole my house thing. I would like to hear that explained, but we will probably never get an answer to that one. There is obviously a lot of history between the Richards sisters. Do you think Kathy is messed up too?

Camille looked genuinely sad, but I think the Mrs. Grammer thing was probably made up. It is not like Kelsey just got the apartment a week ago. They have had it a long time and Camille has been there lots and lots. I think a lot of her scenes were playing up to us a little bit and to get our sympathy. "I believe in my heart it is a woman." Huh? She thought Kelsey left her for a guy didn't she?

At this point I have to think that next season is going to be really boring. Don't think so? Did you think the first hour of last night's show was riveting? Yeah, well get ready for a whole season of that.

I've been trying for 2 hours now to find a link where I don't have to fill out "surveys" before I can see the video.

Do I think Kathy is messed up, too? Look at her kids. She's probably worse than Kim. I did wonder if maybe Mauricio was bankrolling her somehow.

Didn't Camille say that she's never been to the apartment in NY? Isn't that why it was getting redecorated to suit her tastes?

I hope some better links come up on sidereel. (Can't do hulu. It's a US-only service.)

my two cents on the Richards' sisters...
Kim's work paid the bills for her family when they were growing up. Kim was not taught to be responsible, she was sheltered. She has a lot of resentment for that reason. She was engaged to that guy that was killed because of his dirty dealings. She probably had to sell her house to Mauricio at a very low price because she was facing foreclosure. She resented him. He helps her make the bills because if not she'd be out on her arse. All of this causes a lot of friction between the sisters. Kyle probably feels like she has to because she promised their mother. Kim has serious issues: bipolar, alcoholism, etc.

i think lissette nailed it. kim was going to lose her house and mauricio and kyle have helped her keep it. they didn't 'steal' anything.

i've said all season that kim is a fucked up mess and a drunk---it's been obvious to me.

and i know the poll on the aftershow came out in her favor, but i'm with kyle. nobody has ANY idea what's going on here except for kim and kyle. kim HAS lied---she has not been supportive of kyle from what we've seen. and i believe she IS a burden and has become a professional victim. i'd find it exhausting to be her sister/rescuer.

adrienne should've stayed out of it, IMO. this is family stuff and it's not her place to get involved in it. and she doesn't have all the facts so she shouldn't be taking sides, period.

Are you kidding me Enty? This will set up Season 2 nicely for Bravo if they can get Kim to agree to go through some kind of rehab and stay there. Kim trying to recover is going to mean that Kyle will have to get some help for her own codependency issues.

And then, I think this may bring up something that they would both like to avoid discussing...their mother "Big Kathy Dugan". Read in some other places that she was a stage mother extraordinaire. Kyle seems to idolize her and Kim, while she seems to not resent her mother, can't be without some simmering rage about having to give up being a kid to support her family.

Also Camille seems to be waffling about coming back. Nevermind if she does or doesn't. BH is full of rather interesting characters who could easily fill Camille's shoes. Hey they could even get Allison DuBois on there if they wanted ;>.

Plenty of things to make Season @ interesting. I haven't even mentioned a Cedricless Lisa or Taylor and her husband filing for bankruptcy...

The National Enquirer (I know, I know...) Is reporting that Camille signed an agreement to come back next year, although I don't believe the show would have been boring without her. Other than the fights, Camille's segments were always the most boring. I know they would have gotten someone equally as dramatic to replace her, so I wouldn't miss her one bit. If you don't believe me, can you say "Kelly Killoren-Bensimon"?

Not sure if I'd watch without Camille. I haven't seen last night's episode. Not going to bother to find it online with all the repeats Bravo does I'm sure it will be on again soon.

OMG, I just watched it this morning!

Kim never really makes sense to me, so maybe she has been drunk all season. Nothing she said last night made any sense AT ALL. It was like she had Tourette syndrome! ("****ing Phony! Stole my house!)

And what are they even fighting over? Calling Camille insecure/insignificant? Christ on a cracker WHO CARES?????????? I loved the men's reactions.

I actually felt a tiny bit sorry for Camille.

And Taylor.

And Snowball.

Regarding Camille's comment about a "woman": I think people are seeing more into this than what there is. Remember that took place months ago before anyone knew about Kelsey's new gal. So saying he was leaving for a "woman," meant he'd moved on, not that he was leaving her for some other reason.

What I loved, loved, loved about last night's show is that maybe some of Kyle's "fans" are seeing what a SHARK she is!!!! I've said it from the beginning when everyone was so ga-ga over her that she's one stealthy bitch. I love the mysterious backstory to the Richards sisters. When Kim talked about how Kyle got to have a normal life and how Kim was always working, remember that was back when nobody was looking out for child stars (the Danny Bonaduce Era) and I don't doubt that that plays heavily into Kim's inability to connect with "normal" folks. So I guess there's an unhealthy dose of jealousy in there, too, on both their parts. Kim for not having a "normal" childhood. Kyle for not being as big a child star as Kim.

And just where is Kathy Hilton in all this? She just sends money now and then? Those are some really seriously wacky sisters!!!!!!

Did you see Andy Cohen's show and the glimpse of the reunion?!?! Wooo hooo! Camille finally grows some balls and calls Kyle out! I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lmao- for the Snowball comment

I actually havent seen this last ep but I adore Camille on the show- she is breathlessly oblivious to everything and I just enjoy how odd her face is and i dont know, I just know I will be sad if she doesnt come back.
But you guys are right, the others are plenty interesting, with or without Camille.

Jasmine said...

-Hey! Is it true about Taylor and her asshole husband filing for bankrupsty?????
Oy

Genericuserprofile said...

@ Jasmine,

My bad. I guess that bankruptcy happened back in 2005. Still, what is up w/Taylor hosting $60,000 kiddie parties and having rooftop bday parties for herself if they filed back then ;<. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous I guess...

@nunurbiz

Kyle did show an interesting side. Only, after last nights episode it kind of solidifies my opinion of her. Like Kyle, I had a sibling, almost as far apart in age as she and Kim who was a raging alcoholic. There are times you want to save them and there are times you want to kill them (not literally of course!).

Kyle I think is genuine. But after having to deal with yet untold antics of her sister, she probably is rather warrior like. Sometimes that is good because she will stand up for herself and her sister and at other times she will take out whomever she perceives as a threat. I don't think she is as calculated as Camille. Camille is a master game player, or at least thinks she is. Kyle is just too suseptible to people yanking her chain and falls back on being defensive as an answer.

Kyle has as many issues as Kim, only Kyle presents a more together seemingly sane image. Well except for last night...

The comment from Kim about "stole my house" - I think - may have to do with their mother's house in Palm Spring. The house was their mother's but now it is Kyle's.

This was shown in the Easter Episode - when Kim said that house was their mom's and the scene subscript said "Kyle's house."

I have always wondered about because considering the fact that Kim was the breadwinner for her family, then that house was probably paid for by Kim- but the mom gave it to Kyle. I could see that their mom didn't give the house to Kim because of her drinking problem. And it makes even more sense as I can imagine she gave the house to Kyle but make her promise to take care of Kim. This is something that Kyle mentioned more than once.

So maybe that's what Kim meant?

Enty, the doorman incident really did occur. it was shown in an earlier episode...either when she brought the rest of the housewives out or when she was visiting with the kids. check it.

Two things. I do not understand the Camille love, and the Kyle hate.

Honestly, Camille is narcissistic, sociopathic, and seriously deranged.

is the house kim lives in the mother's house? cuz by beverly hills standards, it's a total dump.

TEAM KYLE!

Genericuserprofile said...

Just noticed this...remember all of the crazy finger wagging Kim did last night? Look at Kim in the picture at the top of this thread LOL. She is one finger waving gal ;>.

Mango said...

I agree with pretty much everything Genericuserprofile said. Momma Richards was a notorious stage mother who pimped out her kids to satisfy her craving for fame and fortune.

I just wish the sisters had the self-respect enough not to air the family dirty laundry in front of millions. But hey, the world has seen their niece's cooch, so why not?

Kim, poor Kim, needs to grow a backbone. She is so palpably AFRAID and unsure that she doesn't speak her own mind. I have no doubt that she and Kyle will mend their fences; they have been too co-dependent for too long not to.

Camille is a snake, pure and simple. She played the sympathy card very well last night but she is one nasty customer and not the poor victim she would like the world to believe she is.

I loved the finale, even though it left me disturbed. I have to admit that I like Kim genuinely and am troubled by her problems in a way that no other "Real Housewife" has bothered me. The strange thing about the Beverly Hills case is that they are more glitzy, more over the top, more superficial, more painted and coiffed and bejeweled and couteur'ed (I'm running out of words here) -- but they're also the most sympathetic and human. Adrienne! She's like the girl next door, with a few extra million and a few basketball teams and stadiums. Kyle and Kim are completely understandable. Camille is the odd man out, though -- she's truly a snake, even if I found myself sympathizing with this snake a little last night. God, she married a worm.

Barton Fink said...

Case? I meant cast.

selenakyle said...

I had never seen it until the Bravo re-cap episodes yesterday afternoon, which I suppose were airing to catch us up to the finale...which I then forgot to watch last night!

I got hooked on the damn thing all in one day! (and I swore I'd never watch this shit).

But just from seeing most of about three episodes, my take-away was: love Lisa (I hope Cedric doesn't move out), love Adrienne, love Kyle; feel sorry for Kim (Kyle seems mean but she's obviously exasperated with Kim; and Single Gary was not handsome at all, but OTOH Mr. Blind date had icky lips); felt totally meh about sappy Taylor (other than I can barely look at her hideous "work"...and I hate her emotionless husband); and hate the living shit out of Camille.

Now, part of the Camille hate is from y'all's commenting/opinions here on CDAN! But I caught the psychic friend episode and that psychic cunt needs a good smack-down!!!

It was the equivalent of idiot Salahi's "friend" on RHODC.

I have clients from down the road from the Salahis and I want so badly to ask them if they know the Salahis! But I must bite the tongue cuz hoity-toity folk don't like to be pried for scoop...

selenakyle said...

And when I was a child Kim Richards was a HUGE star. Poor thing. Looks like she turned out better than she could have, though...that's for damn sure!

I take a lot of this show with a grain of salt. I have no doubt that the producers spend a lot of time whispering in their ears and probably set up these confrontations. Like Taylor talking to Kim in the middle of her own b-day party. Like not letting Kim leave in the limo and having Kyle go down there. This show is fake.

That said, it was painful to watch Kim. I don't care if she is a drunk. Everyone picked on her and wouldn't let her leave. Watching Kim cry wasn't fun.

jbeebs said...

DavidsFan- That is what I was thinking!

Did anyone else think that party was super fake. It seemed like Bravo hosted it. Taylor's husband is creepy and awkward and she is over it.

selenakyle said...

And I know she's probably had work, but dang--Kyle is just so pretty.

Sis said...

@nunaurbiz....I totally agree with your comments! I've said from the beginning that Kyle was the one to watch and is as calculating and a bully. On last weeks episode did anyone catch the look her husband gave her when she told everybody about her arguments with Camille? He was not a happy camper.

I too remember Kim when she was a child and have no doubt she supported her family but her comment about not knowing how to do makeup or take care of herself (with her appearance etc) was sad and telling.

The previews look pretty good especially about Camille calling out Kyle, and Kyle still won't let it go just as she intended with calling out Kim's alcoholism, imo.

I heard that Taylor's husband filed bankruptcy in late 2010, not sure if it meant 1995 though, unless it was meant to be misleading.

Looking forward to next week! It looks like new York is starting up soon and Orange County too, but does anybody know when the OC is out?

This is fun, hope a good weekend is in store for everyone!

Sis said...

Also, I am wondering if Mauricio gives Kim money for the house they "bought", that would make better sense and Kyle does not approve obviously, and feels it is hers.

Also, it would not surprise me if Kelsey had passed off his girlfriend as Mrs. Grammer and that is why the door man did not recognize Camille, humiliating for sure.

As for Kathy, I wonder if she is messed up too especially hearing the stories here about the mother. Kyle obviously wants the approval of the Hiltons, it was a big deal at her daughters party, and yet there is Kim, who was there for her.

I say how about adding Heather Locklear and Denise Richards for housewives?

you know what i find interesting? they all have the same face, just different hair...

Just finished watching the episode. Wow...Kim is messed up.I feel a little bad for Camille but it's a typical hollywood marriage. 13 years was a long time.

Pessoa com problemas, try this:

http://tvmissed.com/2011/01/21/the-real-housewives-of-beverly-hills-season-1-episode-13-unforgivable/

Someone put their camcorder in front of their tv and taped it that way. Sound is a bit wonky and you can see the reflection of the lamp in the tv set, but it's the only link I've found that works.

karen said...

Thank you very much for that link, Shakey. I was looking all over the internet for a site that had a link to the final episode.

I feel so bad for Kim. She seems so vulnerable and she reminds me of a beaten dog who runs around with its tail between its hind legs.
I'm wondering if Kyle beats her and if her mother used to beat her. The way she hid behind Adrienne looked like she is used to physical abuse.

shakey said...

No problem, Mina - it took me 2 days to find it!

I agree Kim has that beaten dog look. I wouldn't doubt she gets that "Mom left me to take care of you" guilt speech and physical threatening more often than we see. Kyle does tend to play mother. It would be interesting to see Kathy come into this to see more of the family dynamic.

I think Lisa was apt in her assessment of Taylor - she's more willing to put up with a lousy marriage than give up the Beverly Hills lifestyle. And I believe that whole Kim/Taylor confrontation about nothing, really was orchestrated by the producers. I never understood why they got so upset about that.

From what Camille said about Kelsey coming between her and her friends, it seems he wanted to keep her in a gilded cage and away from people so perhaps his proclivities wouldn't be known. Even I felt for her. But she's still a bitch. And she really does need to keep her lips off Nick.

shakey said...

Oh, I wanted to add one more thing about Kyle - am I the only person who found it rather suspicious that her live-in just suddenly up and left without any warning? That has bugged me. Makes me wonder if there is bad behaviour we don't see on-camera.
