A Duggar Is Pregnant

When I first saw the words Duggar and pregnant, I really thought we were headed towards baby number 30 for Michelle. I know she is not at 30 but my theory is that the closer she gets to 30, the more likely she will set it as a goal. One woman, 30 kids, one Survivor. Whoops. Wrong television show. Sorry.

Anyway, it turns out that Michelle's daughter-in-law is doing quite well in the procreation department too. Anna is pregnant with her second child, and in a made for television moment had Michelle tell Anna and Josh what sex the baby is. Anna and Josh have previously said they do not want very many children. Anna is only 23. I bet they have ten kids. I would not be surprised if the Duggar offspring produce 200 children in their lives.

Why did Michelle get to tell them what the sex is? Just because she's not pregnant doesn't mean she still has to be somehow involved in a pregnancy.

In other news, water is wet.

I can't WAIT for The Rapture. It's high time all these psycho breeders were removed from planet Earth.

Congratulations Anna and Josh! They are such a sweet couple.

I think they're related...they looks alike.

Does anyone else think they're breeding an army/militia?

I'm not goint to lose my $hit over a young married couple having a second child. Yes, I'm aware of his family's background, but you can't make them guilty by association.

Sweetiebird said...

this is kind of old news -- they already announced this on their show weeks ago.

Congrats! If they can afford a second child, more power to them. The family seems like nice people. People have the right to or not to reproduce.

Hey, they are not drugged out celebs!

Love RQ's comment.

LMAO @amoteafloat though I admit to feeling a twinge nervous at the Sacrilege (Catholic guilt you know).

I have to stick up for these kids! I am from Springdale, AR as are they. The entire family is so so nice. They are not trying to raise an army of any sorts. I am not saying the elder Duggars should oh had so many kids, but they are good parents. I have no kids at 26 and am considered abnormal by people here! Two kids at 23 is nothing to get up in arms over!

mooshki said...

Brittiany, there's no way a parent can give the love and attention each child deserves to that many spawn. And that's apart from the overpopulation issue.

Sorry, but *vomit.*

@Brittiany (love that spelling by the way. Ozark?) - Thank you for your concern. All lines are busy right now. Please hang up and try again.

<3 you, Sunnyside.

@TheNightmareChild, huh? I think that you mean you are not listening? And I am not saying that the are the pest parents to each of their children, I am saying that they have done well for what they wanted to do. Those kids so have a support system even if it is their brothers and sisters and THEY ARE GOOD KIDS! The Ozark thing- I am from the Ozark region. Northwest Arkansas, and pass their house everytime I visit my grandparents. And really, can we please not wish for their demise at the Rapture? Because I do not want others to wish for my demise!

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

@brittiany -- Um, The Rapture isn't real, and God isn't going to make the world explode next year, either. Don't fret. I was just kidding. Kinda.

I STRONGLY FEEL that having more than, say, five children is irresponsible. And it has GOT to be impossible to provide twenty-something children with adequate care and attention -- I don't care HOW many handouts you get from TLC or the government.

The world is overpopulated, and planet Earth does NOT need more human beings. It needs more people who are willing to adopt the humans who aren't wanted.

I see NOTHING wrong with the desire to have a child, and I've been joyful for my friends who've had a couple of kids. But that's just a COUPLE of kids, and those children are getting all the attention they need right now. Like, *parental* attention, not ON-CAMERA attention. There's a difference.

well, congrats and all, but why do they have nothing else to talk about? seems like the mom should write a book, "how to get pregnant; every time".

brittiany said...

@amoatafloat...Well I missed your vomit comment earlier but if you want to vomit on my college educated friends who have kids and are very happy about that fact then I'm sure they won't mind- they are probably used to it from cleaning up after their kids. Yes isn't it just awful when people make decisions in life that are different than yours! Just Ick! Oh, also the Duggars do not take handouts from anyone. You see they actually own successful businesses and Jim had a very successful political career and may pursue that again in his life. So really, no the world does not need anymore kids but it seems to be in the human make-up to want to reproduce and no, I would rather one couple not have 20 kids but if I have to choose a couple to do so then I think that the Duggars are alright by me.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

@Brittany -- I'm not vomiting on my friends who have children. But they also don't have over TWENTY children. If they propogate that much, I probably WILL get sick to my stomach.

No one should have twenty or more children. It's a preposterous concept. Interesting how the Duggars have sucked up any dollar they can, though. Hmmm.

The Duggars are ONLY FAMOUS -- and, hence, successful -- for having children. Sorry, but big effing deal. Procreating doesn't make you a unique or spectacular person. It's something most of us can do, but some of us choose not to do. And good for us.

brittiany said...

@amoatafloat
but what you said isn't true. they owned businesses before they had kids and he was elected for his values (which i totes do not agree with) not for his kids, back then the brood was much smaller. and your vomit response was directed at my statement that it was abnormal for me to not have two kids.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

Sorry, but it IS abnormal and vomit-worthy that you stand out in your community (and probably not in a good way) for being TWENTY-SIX and childless.

And are you saying that the Duggers would be just as famous even if they weren't a Biblethumping family that happens to boink like rabbits and reproduce at an alarming rate? Uh. NO.

I have more than the socially acceptable what, 5 kids?, brothers and sisters and have never felt uncared for, unloved, never felt as if I didn't receive enough attention... I never had to "play mom" or skip out on certain activities in favor of family issues. My brothers and I each have our own identities and were each very much encouraged to be independent and socialize with friends and others outside our family.
Oh, and we never received govt assistance.
Maybe growing up with a million brothers was a good thing though. I know of at least 5 boys, well, men at this point, that have my back at any given moment :)

girl you should see me now! i live in South Carolina on a MILITARY BASE! I stand out like well shit, anything that you can think of that stands out! But here the girls are not educated in the least bit. Huge difference. But really in middle America, to be twenty six and childless does make you stand out. Take it for what it is, it just is. And no i did not say that they would be as famous, I said that they would be just as successful. Which is really what they need with all of those kids anyway!

libby said...

brittiany, you have comported yourself as such a lady, and a fine example of how nice and well-mannered a middle-America person can be. As a regular here, I'm so sorry for the outright meanness and prejudice about your Ozark ancestry. I am frankly stunned at what I've read. You have an amazing temperament.

Well said, Libby.

@libby awwww you made me blush! yes, contrary to public opinion, some of us do actually use our brains. PLUS some military wives think for themselves! (i did not rreally believe this myself until i met a few. that was very nice of you to say. i have been around for ages and pop in and out every once in a while but never say much, usually bc i dont want to have to defend what i say but this topic really is important to me. ill see yall around.

Lulu - Michelle Duggar has said that the reason they do not use birth control is that she used to use it when they were first married and she had a miscarriage after they stopped - or something to that effect. So she thinks God was punishing her. I personally think that she has been pregnant for so long that she doesn't know how to do anything else. I think she is getting to the point where any future pregnancies will be high risk to both herself and the babies. She says it's in God's hands. God would probably say - um, I'm not the one sleeping next to you every night, lady...

I suppose a woman can have as many babies as her uterus can stand, however what kind of problems does carrying all those fetuses cause and then the lack of privacy for the children. Seems the older girls have to be mommies to the younger ones. What do the male children do? What kind of jobs must they have to feed and clothe all the children. Seems a really bad situation all around. I think for christians everything is in God's hands although people should be responsible.
