I love when new people get involved in gossip and tabloids. Sam Elliot's wife has filed a restraining order against their daughter. Katherine says her daughter Cleo stabbed her during a fight last week. Their daughter also threatened to kill her. I'm guessing Cleo had finally just watched Stepford Wives in which her mom stars. Probably wanted her money back.

I read last week this story. They also said that they have had problems with her since she was 12-13 (I believe).

Calling Katherine Ross "Sam Elliott's wife" really did tick me off. I don't think a woman has officially been her husband's property since the 1700's. And it was a pretty evil concept no matter when it ended.

This does happen to 'normal' families everywhere. I don't know what illness this young woman is suffering from, but I have a family member who's son battled schizophrenia & eventually killed himself. The outburst sounds frighteningly similar to us. Devastating for all the family.
Goes to show every family has its share of problems. Who knows what's the daughter's real problem?

Well, Cleo is not only and only child but Katharine was in her forties when she had her. Maybe both spoiled her a lot, maybe the girl is just mentally sick, but it is still pretty sad that she had to get a restraining order against her only daughter at this time of her life...
I don't know why anyone would call her an actress -- she was horrible. But that being said, she doesn't deserve to be stabbed by her kid. Surely Sam Elliot isn't the father? I love Sam too, but I can't see him letting a kid get that spoiled.

I think that she was referred to as Sam Elliot's wife because someone new is writing. Has been for at least a week not. Let me make it clear that I am NOT complaining. I'll take what I can get on CDAN. But the writing had been a girl I think. I very much thought so especially thought so on the post last week about the kid found with her moms pot. The past week writings have been to peppy to be enty.

Katherine Ross is a former Academy Award Nominee. I think it's pretty insulting to refer to her as Sam Elliot's wife twice with no reference to her own career.

I'm in with those who believe Katherine Ross deserves some credit on her own; she did have a busy career back in the day. Sad to see she's not aging very well. I had no idea she is married to Sam Elliott, and apparently has been for some time; very far out of the loop am I on such matters.

As far as whether enty writes the blog or not; listening to the radio show has convinced me that he does. The posts are definitely his "voice".
Ross was born January 29, 1940, so she's 71 now. Don't know when that picture was taken.
@Maja -- I agree. He might not be the most eloquent writer, but his speaking voice is EXACTLY like his written voice, and that's impossible to replicate.

For what it's worth, Katherine Ross *was* an actress back in the day and working relatively full time (not an easy thing for any actor to pull off). This however was 30+ years ago.
At about this time, Sam Elliot's career began to take off - and I imagine about this time she decided "meh" on Hollywood and took her money, invested wisely and sat back to do just what she wanted.
And if you don't stay in front of the cameras, the world will forget you - apparently explaining why she provokes the reaction she does.
Regardless, a restraining order is a little lax where physical assault has happened.

Actually, Katherine Hepburn's niece is Katharine Houghton who starred with her in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Back in those days Ross and Houghton were interchangeable although Katherine Ross had the bigger career of the two. And yes, she deserves to be referred to by name. 30 years ago Sam Elliot would have been referred to as Katherine Ross' husband. And if it was the original EL he would have known that.

You scared me for a minute because, when I first saw words Sam Elloit, wife, and restraining order the next words I thought would be HIM. I thought NOoooooo not Sam.

I am one of those people who didn't know Katherine Ross and Sam Elliot were married. I wondered what happened to her. She was huge in the late 60's early 70's, then fell out of the public eye. I am so sorry that this is how she is back in the press. I wish the three of them a peaceful future. She was STUNNING in her movies.

How disgusting a person are you trying to be here? There is nothing funny about a woman - a MOTHER - being stabbed and threatened by her own daughter. NOTHING. That is horrific and tragic and irreparable. This poor woman is seeking legal help, and you belittle her? Make a mockery of this? I think everyone just needs to simmer down a bit....I agree that it was a bit insensitive on Enty's part to refer to her as "Sam Elliot's wife", but the link that he provides is titled just that, and I'm guessing that's where he got it from. And anyone who reads this blog regularly knows Enty is NOT mean-spirited. Just my two cents.
