We Already Knew Katie Couric Was Leaving CBS

This is one of the things that is really strange about the internet. It has been almost two weeks since it was reported Katie Couric was leaving her anchor position at the CBS Evening News. We already discussed and dissected it. Apparently though, Katie has not heard of the whole internet thing or is just totally oblivious to what is going on around her because she finally gave an interview to Kneepads where she says she is leaving the show. Huh. Yeah, Katie, we kind of got that already. The least she could have done is to say where she was going. Instead, that will inevitably be leaked and two weeks later Katie will confirm it. Doesn't Katie have young children? Could one of them please explain this thing called internet to her? Perhaps get her hooked up to Twitter.

Super annoyed, supposedly she's in talks with ABC and could be a replacement for General Hospital. How many more talk shows do we need?

Shhh, don't tell all the geriatrics who still actually watch the evening news. Let's not burst their bubble.

She had to make it "official" to get some more free publicity.

She had young kids ages ago. I'd expect they are in their teens by now. I used to like her. Now? Not so much.

I had the chance to talk to Katie on the phone at work a few years ago (long story), and she was a remarkably pleasant and gracious person. I'll never forget that.

I feel bad for her. It's rough out there for female journalists; it's still a profession full of grey-haired men, you know. People wanted her to fail at this position before she even started.

She knew months ago her contract would not be renewed at her high salary ...the talk started back then...this is about keeping her name out there so she can get a better deal.

She's hawking a book. She was on Tavis Smiley last night. That's why she's milking it.

The more we talk about her, the more her PR people and agents can claim she must be popular and therefore a good candidate for a major deal. That's all it is.

Good luck to her!

SERIOUSLY!!! But they're a lot cheaper to produce than a scripted show, so we soap lovers are screwed.

@Rose/Mooshki - Seriously. My talk show host dance card is all maxed out. What could she do that hasn't already been done?

Blech. Cannot stand her. I wish she would disappear.
