Joey Fatone Blew Through His Money - Auctioning Off Stuff

Apparently Joey Fatone has gone through most of his N'Sync money. He has worked since then, a lot, so you would think he would have realized the trouble he was in and saved some of the stupid amount of money he received from the hosting gigs and club appearances. Things have become so bad for Joey that he is auctioning off all the items inside his home. Yeah, for all of you people who followed N'Sync when you were younger, now is your chance to own some piece of junk that Joey thought looked good in his house and is probably priced accordingly. When you have to sell everything in your house, then perhaps it would be a good idea to sell the actual house, and move into something smaller.

If only Justin Timberlake was having financial difficulties then the group would go out on tour. Why do you think NKOTB and Backstreet Boys went on tour? They ran through their money too and knew that all their fans have grown up and got real jobs and could afford to pay big bucks to see them sing some old songs while they attempt to perform some dance moves their aging bodies can no longer handle.

When you don't actually write the songs and are not generating new albums and going on tour, the money dries up very quickly.

these people are so dumb. Fame does not last for everyone, (especially the fat ugly guys in the boy band) they need to realize this and NOT blow all their money.

dumbasses.

that is a giant house and pool how could he ever think he would be able to cover it every month.

I guess TV Guide Oscar coverage doesn't pay what it used to.

Don't people hire money managers to avoid this sort of bullshit?? Dumb, and hard to be sympathetic. It's not like I've seen him out hustling or trying to work...only vacation.

DAYUUUUUUUM that house is off the hook, did he really think he could afford to purchase a house that grand and maintain it???

Stories like this make me crazy.

No sympathy for this kid.

If he had any financial sense, which obviously he does not, he'd sell that monster mansion and move to a small city somewhere other than California and New York. He'd be the local celebrity which would make him feel good about himself. He could teach voice or music lessons (assuming he can play an instrument). He could buy a really, really nice house with a pool and still have millions left over for his old age. Wish I had a pool this summer. It has been sweltering down here in Tennessee since it quit raining.

i can't hate on him. he's actually a really, really good guy...not to mention he (nsync) were discovered/managed/swindled by lou perlman--who thankfully is serving out a 25 yr sentence for doing that to a whole lotta peeps--and they've spent serious $$$ and a tond of yrs in court battling it out b/c of the contracts they'd originally signed w/ slimeball perlman. now. i'm sure he's made bad money decisions along the way, but i'm pretty sure we all have at some point...and i think he's doing the correct and responsible thing...he's selling his crap. good for him. he's not doing the woe-is-me sympathy media tour...he's just doing what he thinks is his best bet. the guy works honest gigs when he can, has tried (is trying, in fact) to get a few projects off the ground, he's not some sleazebucket trying to ride JT's coat-tails...honestly, i applaud him. we all make mistakes. he's taking steps to remedy his. and good for him for not selling the house, he'd have to take a pretty huge loss on it...and while i know it's orlando and not other parts of the state where taxes and property values are higher, it's his. he appears to be doing all he can to hang on to it. more power to him. he can make do w/o a couch or 17.

Well said, Pooky. Joey has been working his tail off, of late, hosting The Price Is Right live in Atlantic City and at Foxwoods or someplace like that. He's also shooting little movies and just generally working as much as he can (which all the NSYNC boys have always done, whether we in the public see it or not).

@RJ--Joey's house is outside of Orlando, and while it is obscenely big and the pool is absolutely ridiculous, he still spent only about a tenth as much as Lance did on his Beverly Hills/Hollywood house. I wouldn't exactly call him responsible, but he wasn't pulling an MC Hammer with solid gold bathroom fixtures, either.

My only contribution to this thread, since everyone has been so eloquent with the same opinions of his dumbassness that I have, is this:

I want to play croquet on his weird gigantic circle lawn reallll bad.

How do you pronounce his name, y'all? It looks so much like "Fat One" that I can't think of any other way to say it.

This is going to be Justin Bieber in 10 years.

I met Joey a few years back and I can honestly say he has been one of the nicest celebs I've ever been lucky enough to meet. (Top spot goes to Nathan Fillion though...AMAZING man)

Always shocked when I see how lavish his home is as he himself is so down to earth.

I agree with Pookie. I doubt he has much $$$ from his N'Sync days--I imagine Perlman and other handlers has most of that squirreled away in Swiss bank accounts.

Joey has worked consistently since becoming an adult, but I don't think he's knocking home big bucks with the hosting gigs and whatnot. So he's selling some stuff to catch up. That's fine--lots of people do that.

I'm sure Joey has made some bad financial choices. Buying a house that big is one of them. But at least he's willing to work and isn't crying for handouts like so many of these celebs.

Barton, he was part of a big Robot Chicken sketch called "Enter the Fat One". He had to avenge the deaths of his fellow n'syncers. I pronounce it fa-TONE.

Friends of mine went to see the not-so-NKOTB/BSB show the other night. They laughed so hard at the cheese they cried. They did their old dance moves to women 30+ with signs that said "Marry me ____", and dressed in overalls with one strap undone. One woman threw her *thong* on stage. Nick Carter picked it up. Ugh.

Back in the day I always zoned in on Joey sweating like a pig dancing and singing his a$$ off on televised live concerts.~without being a fly on the wall in their bedrooms I think Joey was the ONLY one in the band so he could "meet chicks". And the only one who has children? Am I right? I feel bad for him...

Well I would say he should downsize on the house too but Orlando's housing market is not so great right now so I guess he's doing the next best thing. Judging by the size, I'm guessing he probably has a bunch of stuff to sell.

@RocketQueen-
Now how did I know you were gonna say that?
:P
(p.s. Everytime I play croquet it reminds me either of the movie Heathers or Alice in Wonderland when the Queen of Hearts plays with the hedgehogs hehe)

I dunno Enty, I saw Joey's house on cribs and I have to say out of all the houses I saw on that show, I would kill for his. I think I would on my last 10 cents before I gave it up too.

tiger, I have to agree about Nathan Fillion. Met him in Vancouver, CA and he and Tuc Watkins were SUPER awesome and took pics with my girlfriends and I. It was during his OLTL days. I gave my grandma the pics and she has them in an envelope and in her photo album. Her favorite!

@Jessica: I saw Fatone's house on Cribs, also, and assumed it was in California. I don't envy ANYONE with a house in Florida. It's the hurricane, shark-bite, mold, mildew and humidity capital of the world.

All the Disney pop icons, Selena, Demi and even Justin Beiber need to remember one thing. SAVE YOUR MONEY and invest it well. One day you will be too old to be that pop star. Unless you mature your talent and become a Hollywood legend, you need to take what you make during that short time and make it work for you.
