Joran Van Der Sloot Finally Charged With Murder

It took Peruvian authorities over a year, but they finally charged Joran Van Der Sloot with the murder of Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel room last May. Talk about a long time coming. Apparently Joran is ready to plead guilty to the crime which would normally keep him in jail for 30 years and a payment of $73,000 to the victim's family. Really? Is that all a person is worth there? Sad. Anyway, Joran's lawyer thinks he can get the sentence reduced to not much time at all in jail which means that Joran would be free to do this again.

Oh, and remember how Joran was caught in Chile? Well, the three men who helped him get there will probably spend longer in jail than Joran. They face 5 years in jail each but probably don't have lawyers who are as powerful as Joran's lawyer.

The trial for Joran is set for September 12th and will be televised. Make your plans now.

I seriously thought he would have been mysteriously shanked by now. I read something where the family had to pressure the prosecutors into actually charging him.

There's some Peruvian law that you have to go to trial within 18 months??? So if the trial doesn't happen by December, he gets out.

He is genuinely evil, I think.

jbdean_79 - I sure hope so. How many women are going to be killed by this serial killer? I guarantee there are more victims. He has no soul.

I think the lawyers are workng pro bono like in Casey Anthony. They get a fame boost out of it.

Goodbye douchebag, may Natalie Holloway laugh at you from heaven while you are getting f'd in hell.

Maybe Peru figured all the furor over this guy would die down after awhile. Wrong. They seriously better not screw this up.

I thought he was pretty much screwed in Peru? There is no doubt more women out there missing, and if he gets out he will do it again. He's truly evil.

Imagine ending up with a child that turns out to be a true psychopath, with no good. How shortchanged and awful would you feel?!?
