I Cannot Wait To Watch This Show

I admit it. I am a sucker for good promos and Virgin Diaries on TLC has one of the best ones I have seen. If you have not seen the ad for this show you have to at least spend 30 seconds watching this promo and then ask yourself if you think this virgin couple will even make it to a hotel room or if they just found a closet somewhere at their reception. Probably the most awkward kiss ever.As for the show itself, it seems like it will be better than Sister Wives. To me that show is getting kind of old. The only drama in it for me now is when all the other wives will leave except for Robyn.

Oh boy, that was cringe worthy! Eeeek! That couple had never kissed before, right?

So, do you guys think a person just either has or doesn't have kissing skills or can you improve on it? I've had bad kisser boyfriends and good ones, and I think it's mainly just something you can or can't do. I never saw any improvement personally, LOL.

Haha, she's eating his face while he leans away!

And it's very hard to make decent assumptions about his body language in a 20 second spot, so I'll just say that I hope they've BOTH married for love.

@ RenoBlondee I'd have to say that if the person is just inexperienced, they can improve, but If it's an entrenched & experienced kissing style...well, their partner is probably SOL!

Ugh. And this is why I think practicing and shopping around before settling down is a good thing :)

A friend of a friend did the same thing (no kissing before marriage), she said the wedding was super awkward because the photographer jumped all up in their faces when the did kiss for the first time. I can't imagine being mid 20's, have never kissed anyone, and then kissing for the first time in front of an audience.

I also don't understand why people agree to have shows based around them. If they're living by beliefs that are that strict, I don't see how a tv show isn't seen as an exercise in vanity and grossness, invading something they clearly think is sacred. Did no one think, hey, maybe I'm being taken advantage of?

Holy smack, just watched the trailer, everyone has awful hair and they're aiming for movie kisses. Icky.

This kiss is just awful. It's like she's eating his face. Where did she get the idea that that is how it's done? And everyone is laughing at her too. One day she will be VERY embarassed she agreed to this being filmed. Poor thing!

I saw that the other night when I was watching, uh, "Sister Wives." ;-) That is just the oddest kiss ever! She reminds me of a guppy frantically opening and closing her mouth.

Is this thing for real? Because the people doing the kissing look vaguely familiar to me, like I've seen them in something before.

Maybe that's just my subconscious trying to make me believe they are actors because I don't want to believe this could be real.

I also saw this promo while watching Sister Wives. And I was totally grossed out by it. I couldn't tell which of them was the worse kisser.

Ugh, I got embarrassed for them watching this.

I agree with pretty much every comment above mine.

I don't understand why it's so shocking to remain a virgin until marriage, and why people who do are treated like freaks to the extent that it merits a reality show. I know plenty of people who were virgins when they married, or who at least have only ever slept with their spouse. Not so long ago it was considered normal. But apparently now it's the height of weirdness. Personally, I don't care -- to each his own. But frankly I find this whole show concept stupid and condescending.
That being said, those are the sloppiest, most awkward "kisses" I have ever seen in my life. It's like they are trying to eat each other's faces. It's unnerving.

Texshan- there is a difference between waiting until marriage to HAVE SEX and waiting until marriage to even TOUCH YOUR PARTNER. I think in Western Cultures at least not even kissing before marriage IS quite different than the norms today.

I cant wait to see the show either- Im excited. I havent been watching Sister Wives at all this season- mainly because Kody is just at that level now where he seemsm like the ringleader of a misogynistic life that includes wives and a gaggle of impressionable young boys and girls.

It stopped being just a reality show to laugh about and more real in terms of it being yet another way women are being marginalized and kept down in our stupid patriarchical society. bleck

I had a friend who didn't kiss her husband until they were at the alter. Super religious, super naive, and frankly, making something not all that major a really big deal.

The best part was when I went shopping for her wedding gift. I went to a Christian bookstore to find a book on Christian sex (because praying was only to help them so much). I told the clerk in the store that they were waiting for marriage, and she approved. But when I said they hadn't even kissed, she scrunched her face and declared, "Now that ain't right!" LOVED it!

Since I already saw my friend go through this, I don't know if I need to see strangers on my TV do it as well.

Jasmine, I don't understand why you pointed that out to me. I never said there wasn't a difference. I was just talking about people who don't have sex before marriage, not people who don't even kiss before marriage.

RocketQueen - Yes, totally agree. :)

Ellen showed a clip of it on her show today. Talk about awkward! Some of the guests cringed! Eep!

I can kind of, a tiny bit (but not really) understand waiting for sex from a religious aspect but not kissing? Does not compute.

You know I want to know? What is the statistic on how many people remain married that have waited. Just out of sheer curiosity.

I commented on the difference in being a virgin upon marriage and being UNKISSED and UNTOUCHED uponn marriage because there IS a huge distinction and your response above indicated your incredulity that this warrented a tv show. I dont believe in our culture it was ever a norm for people not to be allowed to kiss before marriage. SO it follows this phenomon is unique enough (again here in the western culture) to warrent a tv show. That was my point.
