Lawrence Taylor Being Sued For Sex Trafficking
Back in 2010, Lawrence Taylor was accused of forcing a 16 year old girl to have sex with him after he paid $300 to her pimp. Taylor was convicted of some minor sex charges and has to register as a sex offender, but nothing really happened to him. Gloria Allred is trying to change all of that today. Her client is the now 18 year old girl and is suing Lawrence Taylor for sex trafficking. This is the first time anyone has ever sued someone who was not the pimp under this law. If successful I guess it would mean that any person who buys sex from a prostitute would also be subject to a suit like this.

Why is she not suing her ex pimp? not saying that LT is right, hiring a hooker, but still: 1- he did not know she was 16. 2- The only thing he is truly accountable for is unknowingly hiring an underage hooker, that had been fully proven during process.
I truly dislike it when women's naivety are mis-used to go after money. Make us still in 2011 look like gold diggers.

But I can't help feel discouraged on how Gloria has become in a way a pimp for victims, thus victimizing them even further in the process. I truly feel, in this particular situation, she has become a disservice to women's rights.
The problem I have with this is that not every 16 yr old looks 16... Take Courtney Stodden (I thankfully had to look that up LOL), she looks at least 10 yrs older... What are men supposed to do?? Ask for an id every time they have sex??
As a lawyer, I find a lot of what Gloria Allred does appalling. She is so opportunistic. That being said, if johns can get sued for $ for having sex with underage prostitutes, it may discourage pimps- who want to keep their johns- from using underage prostitutes and hopefully- end underage prostitution.
Yeah, I feel like if this was truly a "crusade" for Allred, she would be going after everyone she could, not just the one guy who has deeper pockets than the average john.
I think they should go after everyone who is having sex with underage prostitutes, especially the ones who know (or have a good idea) how old the kids are.

I hope the girl gets him and gets him good. its disgusting how many people can slide out of criminal charges because of money and/or fame.

look, Allred got bills to pay and if a rich married man wants to dip his wick. And think it is for free. Well guess what, it ain't. She dances on the line of blackmail. I agree and condone it.
But she does good things, she champions women and makes change happen.
Taylor didn't serve any time for what he did. She should hit him in the wallet and every time it comes up in the press. People will be reminded of what a scum bag he is.
WOW! So he is getting sued for sleeping with an underage prostitute (that he didn't know was underage - wasn't he already convicted of a crime for this?)... Is she suing every other john she ever had? Should her pimp not be being sued for forcing her to become a prostitute? Was LT convicted of raping her (as in against her will?) Or was it consensual, but paid? People sue for far too much these days.. And Gloria Allred, shouldn't even be called a lawyer, she gives other lawyers a bad name!
Gloria Allred doesn't deserve the honor of being called a woman. As far as I'm concerned, she's a disgrace to the womanist movement and is just as much as an abomination as the criminals she claims to go after. She's a high-class ambulance chaser, which isn't too far from being a high-class prostitute. Maybe that's why she identifies with this girl. Two birds of a feather, spreading disease together.
Ultimately Gloria will do some good. All these predators that are having their games with raging narcissistic 20-year-olds and younger in the throes of adolescent conduct disorder need to check their wallets before playing games. They all deserve what they get.

Why don't you just say that he raped her? If it wasn't consensual, then it was rape. Period. ''Forced sex'' is just a more benign way of putting it. It truly bothers me how (male) journalists and bloggers water down the violence associated with that act.
Honestly, a pox on both their houses. LT was having sex with an underaged girl; certainly it can be hard to know the difference between a 16 year old and someone who is 18, but if you are paying attention, you can tell. Just as importantly, he was also sleeping with prostitutes while still married to his third wife. Honestly, he's scum and he has wasted what was once a great career.
As for Allred? She's just a glorified ambulance chaser who only cares about grabbing that green. She could care less about ending child prostitution or actually addressing the underlying causes (including the fact that prostitution is illegal, and thus cannot be regulated properly to keep predatory pedo pimps and their equally craven johns from out of the business). Allred could honestly drop dead tomorrow and, while I wouldn't like to see that happen, I wouldn't shed a tear if it did.
Good. In this country, statutory rape is a strict liability crime. You have sex with someone you don't know at your own risk.

I think what he did was disgusting but I am a bit confused about the whole case. Why did the DA let him take a plea bargain for rape that gave him probation & a curfew?
I know rape happens a lot in prostitution, but is the girl saying her pimp took the money and forced her to have sex with LT, or that LT forced her? If it was just statutory rape I don't see that she has the right to sue him for money after he paid her. Either way, I can't get too worked up over being sued by an underage girl who you paid to have sex with. It's gross.
I am not a Lawrence Taylor apologist, but from what I remember when this case was publicized, apparently he had concerns about her age and asked her how old she was; she replied 19. And I could be wrong here, but I think from the court transcripts, they never had actual sex.
This is just a huge scam going after him for money. I guess she can't get anything from her pimp, as he's in jail.
And as others have noted, Gloria Allred is an absolute disgrace to the sisterhood. Like sevenmack said, an ambulance chaser.
The evil part of me, the part that I rarely let near a keyboard, immediately thought of the old Margaret Cho routine about Karl Lagerfeld -- and it said, "Wouldn't it be amazing if Lawrence Taylor were really engaged in trafficking prostitutes, and he was actually engaged in shipping dozens of young women from their homes to work as hookers in other regions, and he visited them all and he wore a big hat with fringe hanging from the hood, and high-heeled shiny boots and tight, tight buttock-grasping velvet dancing pants, and all of Allred's charges were understatements?" Of course, my rational mind is happy he isn't engaged in human trafficking, but my "evil self" for a moment there found the image intriguing.
LT went bankrupt in 1998 so I doubt he has any real money aside from a protected player pension. He also has six kids or more. Together with legal fees for this case I doubt there will be any big payoff.
