Not A Suspect To Prime Suspect

As of yesterday morning Dale Smith was not even a suspect in the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Parker. According to police, now he is the prime suspect. Dale Smith was the last person to see Michelle Parker alive when she dropped off their twins to his house. It was the same day an episode of People's Court aired which featured the couple who had a very rocky relationship. Apparently Dale has refused to take any kind of polygraph and now Michelle Parker's parents have accused him of being involved in their daughter's disappearance.

What I am fearful of is that no one seems to know where Dale is or whether he has the children with him. Michelle's 11 year old son from a previous relationship is safe. I don't understand how you have a press conference announcing someone is a suspect but answer with an, "I don't know," when asked whether you are going to arrest said suspect.

Perhaps the cops don't want to tip their hand that they are eyeing him as the main suspect but held the press conference so if someone sees him with the twins, they will hopefully report his location

Maybe they don't have enough real evidence to arrest him yet.

agree with every one

I think there's some kind of legal reason you can't name someone a suspect - maybe something about gathering evidence or something.

He's the prime suspect? I'm shocked is what I am.

As anyone should know who's watched crime shows on TV, the person who's the murderer is almost always the last person to see the victim alive. When Michelle came over to drop off the twins, he probably killed her, and then dumped her car. I don't know how anyone could think anyone other than Dale Jr. could be responsible. He has a history of violence, and he was most likely enraged by Michelle making him look like a jerk on the show.

I think they are trying to rattle his cage and hope he makes a mistake or tries to move the body and they bust him.

I don't think she is alive and i think he killed her in a fit of rage after how bad he looked on tv after it aired.

fucker.

I would never, ever take a polygraph so I can't hold that against him. I thought I saw on Nancy Grace they found a body in a river or lake?

I feel vindicated for my comment on this story yesterday :)

@equinox- agreed. The polygraph is notoriously unreliable.

I watched the episode when it was aired. My g/f and I laughed a bit, but it didn't seem very stressful for either of them. I am amazed at the level of violence, incurred, after the filming was over. Specially when neither party was losing actual money.

the polygraph is NOT unreliable. that's simply not true.

the police obviously know way more about this than they're saying, but they're moving in the right direction. this guy has a long history of violence. it's a no-brainer.

Won't take a polygraph, hmm?

Yep.
