This B list television and movie actress who is more into television right now with her long running series has some severe cutting issues. She cuts herself so frequently that she has to get to makeup several hours ahead of time and is wearing much more long sleeve outfits on her show. Plus, it also caused her significant other to leave her because he just could not handle coming home and always finding bloody towels everywhere.

It is terrible. My bi-polar ex used to cut himself. He burned himself w/ a lighter too. I just can't imagine the pain in themselves that causes this.

I hope this is only part of the story. I hope that someone at that show or someone in her life is trying to help her deal with this issue, instead of just thinking of themselves and their show and their cash flow. I know this is Hollywood, but I will still hope.

To the people saying she should be getting help, she may be - therapy isn't an instant cure, and lots of people resist taking antidepressants. Let's hope she gets better in time.

As a former cutter, this is heartbreaking to read. This is a sign of supressing much deeper issues. I hope she works through them/continues to work through them.

I am a cutter. I went two years without cutting and broke about a month ago and cut again. At the time, it was a release of that pain that had built up, but then I was so mad at myself because of giving into the urge. Cutting is something that I know I will never fully get over and is something that can be dangerous and scary. (Truthfully, reading about this BI, my mind immediately went to where my cutting tools are hiding, even though I promised my therapist I'd get rid of them.)
I don't know who this is, but I hope the issue that is causing this actress pain will be addressed.

And whoever said Glenn CLose, nah, but what about Rose? I hope not, since the new season has yet to show we don't know what sleeves she's wearing. But she's getting thinner and thinner, and she was slim to start with.
I cut myself for a few years when I was in my early to mid 20s. At the time it was happening, I was just in so much pain psychologically I was unable to process it in any other way that to physically harm myself. The physical pain made the psychological pain diminish. I felt hopeless, lost and alone.
It hurts me to think that - in theory - a woman who seemingly has everything is harming herself to deal with that kind of psychological pain. I would hope - even in the shithole that is Hollywood - someone would care enough to offer help to this gal - whoever she is .. and I have no idea. And her SO was obviously not that significant.

First person that came to mind was Courtney Cox. Don't know why..but her and David Arquette were married, so "significant other" does that fit ?

i was watching how i met your mother last night and noticed colbie smulders is in long sleeves a lot this season, also really really thin. i dont know if she is considered b list or if her SO left her.
Rose Byrne broke up with Brendan Cowell about two years ago. They were together for a fairly long time. (He's pretty well known in Oz. He was on Love My Way, which was a fantastic show.) However, I think the break-up was too long ago.
As another person with serious mental illness & personality disorder, I just want to share love & good thoughts to all of you who have been brave enough to share your pain. For me, therapy is just a barely-clinging band-aid. I understand how hard it is to get any better.
I have every reason to cut, and I've always been thankful that I didn't get that symptom. Very lucky.

my daughter has a new therapist (for abusive father). when this therapist and i were talking about what she could and couldn't share w/ me, cutting came up. its apparently pretty common starting in middle school. you'd thing that a parent would notice, but the therapist said kids cut in places their parents would see, like the insides of their thighs (ouch!). anyway, i was surprised to hear that it was so common.
i feel so ignorant about how common this is...those of you that have shared your struggles...you are so incredible and brave. and i'm glad you're here. (((xoxos)))
