Alec Baldwin Kicked Off Plane

Yesterday Alec Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight for refusing to halt his Words With Friends game when flight attendants told him to turn off all electronic devices. Get this one. According to his rep, "Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing Words with Friends while parked the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight." Seriously? Alec Tweeted he was ticked off at having to leave and he was also lying about being parked at the gate. According to another passenger who was on the flight seated close to Alec, he Tweeted, "On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane. We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait." Guess they were not parked at the gate. I am sure you made another planeload of fans Alec.

That guy is such a disgusting asshole, but people will still love him no matter what. Just like they do with Mickey Rourke who can do no wrong because he's nice to dogs. What a world.

Ugh - what a piece of work!

Sorry, I do think he is funny as hell. A complete and ubber asshole! but pretty damn funny.

Alec, Alec, Alec...grow-up already..

Talented and intelligent, but also a graceless jerk. And @Mina is right, no one in Hollywood will say a word against him no matter what he does or says. I try to keep politics and entertainment separate, but you know if a conservative actor behaved anything at all like him, the Hollywood establishment would eat him alive.

Oh, I love that game.

I was on my Twitter when this happened last night, reading it.
I wasn't sure what to make of it. I didn't know if it was him being the ass, or the flight attendant. Now I know.
God, I hate that he is such a dick because he is so funny.

Oh, Alec, you're a whiny pants. But I still love you. From way, way afar.

I'm not at all surprised. He is well known for being abusive, entitled, and an overall jackass. I can't watch his shows and movies, because I will never forget him calling his 12 year old daughter a pig, and the claims by Kim basinger of physical Nd mental abuse. How can anyone castigate Chris brown, but say that alex Baldwin is funny? If you're going to judge the Chris browns of the world for their behavior, you also have to include the Alec Baldwins. Personally, I think neither of them should be allowed to have public careers

I heard on the radio this morning that the flight attendant asked him 5 times to stop talking on his phone and when he finally hung up, he went to the bathroom, SLAMMED the door and started pounding on the wall. Then he went back to his seat and one of the pilots kicked him off. The passengers had to wait at the gait all over again. Oscar De La Hoya was on the flight and was HORRIFIED by Baldwin's behavior.

Entitlement is a terrible human trait.

I love his work, but Oscar should have knocked his assout.

Well, this has dome wonders for the WWF game!

Tempestuous Grape said...

Now I wonder...HAVE I EVER PLAYED WWF WITH ALEC FUCKING BALDWIN??? I'm a major Scrabble addict and that's my daily fix. Ha, gotta wonder. I wonder if he's the type to quit the game when his opponent is 50+ points ahead.

Someone on the flight said on NYC morning news that Baldwin was actually talking on his phone, not just playing a game; the plane had already left the gate and he wouldn't stop. And when he got to JFK, he pushed WCBS-TV reporter Hazal Sanchez out of the way when she tried to talk to him. So her guys got that on tape.

What's with these assholes celebrities being such douchebags on airplanes? It's like the new baby bump or something. Jesus. Get a fucking grip. Your asshatery affects others. Didn't you get the memo, Baldwin??

I saw Oscar de la Hoya speak to the press on TV this morning and all he said was it didn't seem like there was much of a commotion. He is quoted as saying, "I actually felt Alec Baldwin was turning off his devices, and he just got a little angry." (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/12/alec-baldwin-got-a-little-angry-on-plane-oscar-de-la-hoya-says.html)

When did he say he was he HORRIFIED?

It seems that one every flite I'm on there is one dick who will not put away their electronic device. We'll be taxiing away and the attendant will be telling someone that they have to put turn their crap off.

Kind of psycho for an adult to have to be told more than once.

DeLa Hoya needs Baldwin in his corner more than he needs him as an enemy. And he's got his own history of violence and weirdness, so he knows of value of having another celebrity lie about the situation to his benefit.

While Oscar de la Hoya didn't seem to care, there was a guy on the news today from the flight who was ticked off. The guy basically said that they'd left the gate and all Baldwin had to do was turn off his phone so that they could leave on time. Instead, he was selfish, made a scene and made everyone else late.

It doesn't matter if you're famous or not- it's the policy that once you've left the gate you have to turn it off. I haven't flown in awhile, but my dad flies regularly and says there's always someone still on their phone after they've told people to turn them off. Frankly, I'd rather put up with screaming kids on a plane than a narcissist like Alec.

(Seachica, the only difference I see is that Alec Baldwin has essentially rebranded himself as a witty jerk, where Chris Brown is still marketing himself as sex symbol who treats women right. I'm not much of a fan of Alec anymore- and behavior like this certainly doesn't win me over.)

Some people think that the rules do not apply to them.

I think there is a big difference between getting angry and yelling at your kid, and beating up your girlfriend. Every parent I know has at one point said something they regret to their kid, and I am sure I will as well. But beating up someone the way CB did? Not the same thing

Feisty said...

I deeply dislike him. I think he has a problem with women and that he's always doing stuff just on the edge of what would get him in major trouble publicly.

Which says he knows his behavior is unacceptable, and he does it because he can get away with it. I hope a huge backlash comes out of nowhere and wipes his career away.

I'm kinda disappointed that Tina Fey puts up with his shit. I'd admire her even more if she fired his ass.

Hey, Alec -- next time fly private.

RocketQueen said...

What Jessi said. Talented as hell and a great advocate for animal rights, but a total asshole to PEOPLE.

I'm also a huge fan of Words With Friends, by the way :)

Feisty said...

@ chopchop - WORD on Tina Fey.

luckydog said...

@chopchop,

Isn't there a blind item or blind reveal from awhile back talking about how Tina Fey and Baldwin can't stand eachother? Can hardly be in the same room or some such thing?

feraltart said...

He has officially lost me as a fan. I can't stand douchey behaviour, particularly on airplanes when you can't get away. On the flight back from Vietnam this year, I literally stood up and politely told a flight attendant to let go of my hand bag, that he had picked out of the overhead locker and was looking to move. I said that myself, my husband and the two people in front of us had filled our allocated overhead lockers, that we all had breakable items, and if others had brought too much stuff to fit into their overhead lockers that was their problem. I won. I was particularly upset that my handbag had been touched.

I'm not defending Baldwin, per se, but what I find intriguing is that TWO OTHER passengers tweeted about the incident at the same time Baldwin did (one of whom being the loathsome Grant Cardone). Why are they allowed to use their electronic devices when Baldwin was not? Seems inconsistent with policy.

Granted, he's a hothead (I personally suspect he's bipolar), but I'd be fucking pissed, too, if I was being hauled off a plane while other people around me were openly guilty of committing the same "crime."

Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors said...

@chopchop Strong, strong rumors for quite a while now that Tina and Alec despise each other. Don't be disappointed in her. Charlie Sheen was fired, he sued the network and won to the tune of $100,000,000-plus. 30 Rock does about 1/2-1/3 of the ratings of Two and a Half Men. Baldwin has a year left on his contract and wants to leave at the end of it. They're not about to risk paying out a 9-digit settlement because he got kicked off of a plane.

weezy said...

I'm guessing the other passengers were able to sneak a tweet because the crew were focused on Baldwin -- the devices were probably slipped into pockets the moment the crew was back on deck.

The Black Cat said...

Yeah, I enjoy him on 30 Rock and SNL but seriously, grow the fuck up Alec. Maybe he'll get to go on an interview tour now like when he left horrible messages for his daughter. I remember watching him on The View and those old bats were fawning over him like he was the victim. Twisted.

mooshki said...

I'm sure Tina worked with people far worse than Alex on SNL. It's part of the biz - not much she can do about it.

Lelaina Pierce said...

Ugh, what an ass! I heard the story about slamming the bathroom door too, Lucky Dog. So theatrical (over Words with Friends, no less). ;)

mooshki said...

He slammed the door so hard, the pilot heard it and came out to see what the problem was.
