Catherine Zeta Jones Was A No Show At Sundance
When you are tip sheets handed out to the press as someone who is going to attend and scheduled to speak at a panel about your latest movie, it means you are supposed to be there. It is part of the whole promoting the movie thing for which you are paid. At the Sundance premiere of "Lay The Favorite" Bruce Willis was there and Joshua Jackson was there but no Catherine Zeta Jones. Her rep said she was never supposed to attend and was doing something else. I think what Catherine was waiting for was to see if the audience and critics liked the movie before committing to show up. They loved it and loved her, but you can't do that kind of thing. You have to go out there and promote the good and the bad and the ugly. Look at Bruce Willis. At least half of his movies have been really bad but he goes out there and does what he is paid to do. The quickest way to not get hired is to not promote your movie.

I'll forgive CZJ for her snobbery. I ADORE her. I'll watch her in most anything, and I think she's totally gorgeous. I don't care if she *has* shaved a good ten years off her real age.
I don't care about CZJ. I just wanted to say that I'm super excited for this movie. Beth Raymer is a cool chick and has a great story to tell.
Ida, I'd have to agree. I love CZJ because she's a snob and she admits it. At least she's not pretending to be one of the regular folks. Good for her.
What is it with her face? The last couple of pictures I've seen of her, I would not have recognized her if her name hadn't been under them. She's done something.
actually she 's working on BROKEN CITY and i never thought she was snob because she worked on an awful french movie LES 1001 NUITS and she still remembers the song in the french movie (and she speaks a few french)
I'm sorry...I can't give Kudos to anyone's bad behavior. She's a snotty biatch and there's no excuse, considering that it's the people that made her what she is today. She's just as human as the rest of us. She's also in her late 40's, trying to get everyone to think she's only 42. She's full of it. I used to like her, but I personally don't anymore.
Wasn't she the popular guess for an actress who was sick? Between her health and her husband's, I'll wait and see before I assume it was pure hubris. CZJ has always struck me as a hard worker in the past. She wasn't the type to party and show up on set drunk, and if she hasn't made as many movies in past years, it's because she reached that age in Hollywood where roles (even if you have an Oscar) are harder to come by. Plus, she married a much older man with money, so she *could* retire and live the easy life.
My gut tells me we're going to hear about a medical problem in the next few days.

Didn't she admitt she was bi-polar prior to Michael getting sick? Maybe she had a little issue dealing with her illness.

I don't really think much of her outside of seeing her in movies, but I do like her acting.
Hey folks, give her a BREAK already! Like Jeesh! Truth is...she WAS gonna show but missed her flight by accident. Because, you know - she was busy checking on that picture she got from that Dorian Gray dude.

RenoBlonde, I so agree with you. When I first looked at that picture, I thought, "Why did Enty use a picture of Diane Lane?" Has she had work done? If so, it's work like Daryl Hannah had where she now looks like a completely different person. Wasn't CZJ treated for depression? Maybe she had a depressive episode and couldn't be there because of that. Depression is a beast.
Her rep said she wasn't supposed to attend, maybe that's correct and the tip sheet was wrong.
I'll always love her because she was so fantastic in Chicago.

When she married Michael Douglas I was surprised she continued working, she doesn't need to work. She can do what she wants at this point.
Just saw her at Saks in Greenwich and she looked baaaaad. Really bad, like I think maybe she's sick or depressed. It was so disillusioning; in my head she always looks like Velma Kelly.
Maybe the big sickness she has is being bipolar. I completely forgot about that. I do have to say though, she is one beautiful woman...stunning. I worked with a bipolar girl one time. It was horrible to be around her when she wasn't taking her medication.

Oh, and did anyone watch Up All Night this past week? Megan Mulally is now a dead ringer for Tina Fey. I don't know WHAT she did to her face but I actually gasped.
RQ, wasn't it freaky? I kept looking at her thinking "wait, wasn't Megan Mulally supposed to be the guest star in this episode?" It was only her voice that clued me in it was her.
She got verrrry skinny and her faux-boobs are way to large for her now.
She does look ill. It would be horrible, but ironic if she was ill and Michael Douglas outlived her. My husband's cousin went to prep school with James Taylor's much, much younger half siblings. JT's father married a very young woman and started a second family. She ended up passing away when the kids were young, and left him to raise them. You never know what life is going to hand you.
