Disappointed that Ricky didn't have much to say this year. Didn't seem like he had much time at the podium. He did make people nervous, tho, that was fun to see.

I have so many comments and Enty's writings to catch up on from last night. I couldn't keep up! Then it got to late and I got drunk, LOL.

I don't understand the Matt LeBlanc win. Nothing against him, but considering who he was against that was the only one that really shocked me.

But, I don't watch the show. I have shit to do. I just read the winners the next morning.

Matt LeBlanc is so unfunny. His show is terrible. The whole show had a lot of surprises, none of my choices one in any category. Although I did favorites, not best. ;)

I too had hoped Ricky would be a little meaner than he was...*L* Still think he did a good job though.

Also, as much as I love Robert Downey Jr., did anyone else think he looked a little worse for the wear, or was I imagining things?

Also, Madonna's acceptance speech was just fucking rude in my opinion. I usually defend her but I'm not sure I can anymore.

I was so happy to hear The Artist won Best Motion Picture, musical or comedy. It was a great movie.

RDJ was very fidgety with his fingers and hands. He was on something for sure.

And Angelina's arms were so skinny. Like anorxic/drug skinny.

Wow. I've been so out of it these last few months, the only things I've seen are "American Horror Story," "Game of Thrones" and "Mildred Pierce."

Sigh.

I gotta get out more.

I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who is wtf'ing over Matt LeBlanc.

And I agree with Maja about Madonna's speech. She accepted that award like she won it for the movie. Never heard of it. Has anyone? What is it about?

Oh, and I have a general question about the GGs - what is it about having a screen(s) so celebrities can see their own close-ups? I hate that. (Apparently so does Angelina, because she always turned away when the camera was on her.)

I love the Descendants. Glad it won.

W.E. is about Wallis Simpson and that royal guy giving up the throne for her. I heard W.E. was booed at some film festival.

Fuck Madonna. I can't stand her bony ass.

This show was SO freakin' boring. Ricky was not on his game, IMO. Much funnier last year.

I'm so out of the loop. I haven't seen anything that won.

The Artist winning so much is kind of wtf to me.

Okay, it WAS funny when Ricky got Johnny Depp to admit he STILL hasnt seen The Tourist yet, bwahahahahhaha.

Am SO friggin glad Jessie Lange won for American Horror Story- girl deserves it, she MADE that show.

Sidney Poitier last night...was magical. I seriously got teary eyed for some reason while he was talking. The man is just so dignified and graceful...Morgan Freeman on the other hand, bleck.

Maja- what did Madge say that was so abhorrent????
I didnt catch it- I was distracted (as always) by her scary mesmerizing hulk arms that she couldnt even rest next to her body they were so buffed! shiverrrr

oh yeah, and Ricky for the most part DID NOT BRING IT.

I think he let his own celebrity stunt his comedic snarkiness. I think last year A LOT of celebs probably snubbed him for that hosting gig and he played it resonablly safe this time around. Bleck

I didn't think Ricky brought it either. He was much snarkier last year although joking about the guys not seeing Jodie's "Beaver" was edgy. Didn't he also make a creack about Tom or John Travolta being gay last year?

I totally missed the crack Madonna said unless it was the one to Ricky was was just sily.

And I tried to keep up with everyone last night but I had to put dinner on the coffee table (yeah we watched and ate)and I cannot do drinking games.

I am betting Miss Rita is hurting today. She was drinking everytime they showed Angie and they showed her a lot! Also Mother Campfire..I'm surprised you showed up today as well. Ya'll was going at it strong. LOL

LOVE that "The Artist" won although don't expect that to happen at the Oscars. I guessed most of the winners correctly based purely on the amount of PR that is out there. It's so easy to do it's almost like havng the answers for a test.

OMG I cannot STAND Madonna. I've always disliked her, but she is seriously insufferable now. Between her interview the other night with Cynthia M and her trying to "give what she got to Ricky" (huge fail), she is truly over and a complete narcissist.

Loved what Ricky we did get, but agree he wasn't as snarky as he was the previous year. Ah well.

I also cannot stand Clare Danes. Ugh, she just rubs me the wrong way.

I watched RDJ very carefully looking for signs of drugs, but didn't see any....

EleanorRigby said...

@RocketQueen, I also studied RDJ (love him!) and I didn't either. Johnny Depp, on the other hand... I need to go back and see if the glove fits. He sounded like he lapsed into Jack Sparrow while he was on stage??

Also, can someone PLEASE fill me in on what the hell was up with Michelle Williams during her acceptance speech? Is that the way she always sounds??? It seemed very baby talk-like, as if she was still playing Marilyn? Does she always sound like that? I guess I am used to how she sounded on Dawson's Creek. Any input, CDAN readers?

EleanorRigby said...

Glove fits for the blind, I mean. Whoops!

Susan, the Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, so they have a bias towards foreign films. It won't do as well at the Oscars. (It was good, but not spectacular, in my opinion.)

Apart from Matt LeBlanc, I think these were pretty decent winners. As much as I hate Kelsey, he is a great actor. And as long as my beloved Hugo won something, I am content.

Jasmine said...

oh gosh, Madonna said the word 'me' like 20 times! yikes

Thanks for the link EmEyeKay
