I had no idea Rooney had a bf. Changes my guess for a Lainey blind about a starlet having an onset affair with a married man, when his wife showed up he ended it, so she "obediently" went back to her bf.

As for Tebow, the mayor of Denver was trying to get Mayor Menino here in Boston to agree to do the Tebow pose if the Broncos win Saturday's game. Menino's response? "I do that every Sunday in church!" Oooh, snap! (OK, maybe I'm a cynical bitch, but he's starting to really rub me the wrong way--it's reminding me of some of the Southern Baptists I knew in Georgia who were very in-your-face about their religion, with the subtext always being "see how much better of a person I am than you, you pathetic sinner?" Let's just say that, if one's life is supposed to bear witness to one's faith, theirs weren't quite bearing the kind of witness they would have liked...is that a tactful way to phrase it? Tim's probably a good kid & all, but I just keep remembering that verse about praying in private if you want God to hear you...)

I'm with you Robin the Mad Photog- as another fellow Bostonian (though natively southern) and also a godless heathen to boot, I am sick of all this nonsense and sincerely hope that the money Jockey spent announcing that NFL playoffs are "Tebow Time" will be a huge waste of money after tomorrow night bc the Broncos won't be playing any more after that.
I also agree being raised in a very religious household and community that even though I don't believe in all that, its fine if others do and I do truly respect it, but when it is a marketing tactic.... that is really wrong. He is cute (no Tom Brady but who is) but to do that pose in that ad campaign is blatantly monetizing on faith. I find that just as obnoxious and offensive as the ridiculous assertions that God wanted the Broncos to go to the playoffs, or that a miracle occurred in Denver last week and a halo formed over the stadium (it's called pyrotechnics/lighting/fog-- not exactly water to wine stuff).
Tebow it's time for you to go away until the start of NFL season 2013 and GO PATS.

despite having decided as an adult to not believe in organized religion and specifically Christianity, I do seem to recall a story about Jesus and the moneychangers in the Bible... so I'm sure he (that is Jesus) would approve of using religion to get paid, right?? Or am I recalling that parable incorrectly?
seriously people, sports team preferences aside, its kind of gross, tacky, less than ethical, etc to monetize on things such as religion, the misfortune of others, mental illness, etc. It's not about hate- it's about having ethics, and also realizing that just because someone praises God all the time it doesn't mean they should be blindly followed by others who also like God. This ad is wrong. There a tons of other extremely religious athletes who don't turn it into their personal cash cow/trademark.
Seriously its people who blindly love him (and for the most part know jack about football) because he uses the words God and Jesus so much that inspire us "haters" to dislike someone who honestly I would have liked otherwise.
