@SaintsFan he was only wrong on Viola Davis Meryl won. So whoever the "freind" was was just talking shit trying to impress him.
Accounting firms take the awards shows seriously.
The other guesses were frontrunners to win.
The only people that know who the winners are at PWC are the two guys they trot out every year. The envelopes get more security than Obama.
@SaintsFan, I believe Wahlberg was also wrong on Sound Editing. According to what I read, he predicted Transformers would win for that, but the Oscar went to Hugo.
I hope Wahlberg is lying or he probably got his friend fired.
I only saw two movies on the list - Rango and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I'm really starting to feel out of touch.

I loved Chastain's dress, Meryl's smugness, and the fact that Clooney totally expected to win (the fact that Stacey was dressed as a freakin' Oscar was not lost on me) and LOST. Ha haaaaaa!
And I can't believe Angie kept thrusting her leg out like that. I was actually embarrassed for her. SO cringeworthy.

I actually wanted George to win - I loved the Descendants so much!
George won his supporting role becuase he was everybody's "buddy" in Hollywood. I think he expected his nice guy image to pull another win.
Angelina is in some denial if she thought her anorexic body is the epitome of hot. She needs to lay off the methodone. Her hair looks like it is about to fall out.
But the Descendants writer goofing on her with the same pose was my highlight of the night.
I was hoping GOD IS THE BIGGER ELVIS would win for documentary short so I could see Dolores Hart (now a nun) accept the award. She was incredibly beautiful when she was an actress many years ago and she gave Elvis his first on-screen kiss.
I guess I need to go see Hugo and The Artist now. I have never watched the Oscars in recent years where I knew so little about the front runners.
I wish Viola had won best actress. I am sick of Meryl Streep and her fake oh-my-goshness.
Thanks to all who answered my question. Even though I didn't watch the Oscars, I have seen enough of A Jolie's leg to be embarrassed as the rest of you are. Who told her to do that because that is not her normal behavior, is it? I don't think so. Was Jennifer Aniston there? Maybe she was trying to take any attention off JA.
I was REALLY happy Woody Allen won for best Original Screenplay for Midnight in Paris.
The way he gave each famous writer such amazing dialog that rang true to life: Fitzgerald, Hemingway and artist: Picasso, Man Rey, Dali and more, not to mention Gertrude Stein...in addition to the overall theme which was dont fantasize about some idealic past- live your life NOW. I dont care what people say- he deservedly won this and I love him all the more for NOT showing up (as he hasnt all award's season.) It's clear he refuses to play the bullshit Hollywood game and just does his craft for the pleasure of doing it.
Oh yeah, and the Artist winning was sorta cool but come on. Best actor going to some dude who said 2 lines ultimately in the movie?! This decision seems to be an attempt by the white oldies of the Academy to continue to cling desperately to their old Hollywood ideals of class or whatever. Other actors were better. (though after the hard campaign both clooney and pitt did it was HILARIOUS to see them both not win) :))
No way in H*LL the were going to let both best actress and best supporting actress be black.

Highlight of the night for me was the writer imitating Angelina. She's such an ass.
How unfortunate for Viola to be nominated in the same year as Meryl.
What about Melissa McCarthy and her flexible leg(s)? That and the guy mocking Angelina were my fave's!
I thought Billy Crystal did a good job! I guess I'm old school, though. I laughed way more than I did last year.
When Angie did her leg thrust, I wanted to hide behind my pillow. WHY??? Did the designer say showing side leg was a prerequisite for wearing the dress?
I only saw about half of the movies this year. I was pulling for Viola, but with Meryl in the running, I knew it would be a longshot.
