The Enquirer Hires Model To Pose As Dead Whitney Houston

The Enquirer made a fortune when it published a photo of Elvis in his coffin. I'm sure they would love to repeat that, but hiring someone to pose as a dead Whitney Houston seems way over the top. Apparently The Enquirer did not think their death issue was ghoulish enough to outsell the competition so they hired a person to lie on the floor and pretend they were dead and The Enquirer would like everyone to believe it is Whitney Houston since they posted the photo underneath the banner headline "Crime Scene Photos."

Unfortunately, I expect this sort of thing from the enquirer.

Wow, that's pretty bad, even for the enquirer.

No different from re-enactments in movies and on 'news' shows. Tacky? Yeah. But we've seen this stuff before. It's no surprise. *shrugs*

Since I haven't seen it, how did we find out it was faked? Did they say so? Did the "model" come forward? I'm just curious.

This is what happens when the National Enquirere refused to go fully online (their website is crap) and now have to resort to this to sell their paper magazines.

I can only tell myself they broke the John Edwards story so many times.

Ghoulish indeed.

and it will probably be their best selling issue ever. I was disgusted by pictures of the bathtub, gravy boat, and people taking pics with their phones as they removed her from the hotel.

Oh, I'm sure her real death pictures will be online soon enough.

Really, I was so busy reading about Clooney being abducted by space aliens and Aniston have the Sasquatch's love child (triplets actually), to notice.

They did this with Anna Nicole. It showed her in a body bag. They claimed it was a mock-up but I'm pretty sure it was the real thing.

Crime scene photos?? Are they trying to insinuate that this wasn't an accidental death?

@Ida - my thoughts exactly. Rome is burning. The end is near.

This shouldnt surprise me in this era of Octomoms and Duggers, teen moms and sex tapes, and basically the increasing cavalier degradation of private lives, moral compasses, and appreciation for life.

But when I see a microcosm example like this one of how we really devalue human life for profit- it turns my stomach and makes me feel ashamed to even be apart of gossip sites at all.

fuck the Enquirer for this- and fuck the market that has opened up enough to make shit like this sellable.

I saw this cover as I was standing in a checkout line this morning. I wondered about that photo then. I couldn't believe that they'd actually gotten hold of real police photos, but I didn't dream that the shot was a set-up. That is so pathetic. I will give the NE props for the cover last week (before Whitney died) which was also about Whitney and how out of control she was and that she was going to die. It's probably a coincidence, but they were spot on.

They should've used those Sims-style Chinese news reenactments instead.

I agree ChopChop.

As ghoulish as so many people seem to be, evidenced by them wanting to read and see this shit, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Zombie on the street.
Time to buy soup and ammo.

I also want to know how is it known that this is a faked photo? Does it say in the article or in the fine print?

EmEyeKay said...

@Jennifer H., I bet it does say something like that right under "photos".
