Amanda Bynes Is Far Too Busy/Important/Wasted?/To Wait For Police

Normally when a person is in the process of getting a ticket they wait until the police finish writing the ticket and drive off only when they have received the ticket and their license and registration back. Well most people are not the unemployed, one dress wearing Amanda Bynes. Amanda got a ticket for talking on a cell phone and while the police officer was writing the ticket, Amanda drove off. Now, why would you do that? Far too busy? Maybe she is busy checking IMDb every few minutes to see if she got a role somewhere but other than that, I think she has all the time in the world. Important? Not so much. Wasted? I have no idea if she was or not. But, maybe she was and was scared the police would find out so she drove off and when she sobered up she went back to the police station and signed the ticket. Maybe she had something in the car she did not want the police to find.Maybe she just had to pee. Whatever the reason, police are still deciding what, if anything to charge her with.

I sure wish she would pull it together. I kinda liked her as a kid but given some of the revelations we have been seeing on here lately, I think she might need an ass load of therapy.

Not a smart move but considering what Lohan gets a way with not much will happen to her.

That is pretty funny. Something similar happened here this week. A lady was speeding but wouldn't pull over, which lead to a chase. They chased her all the way to her home, where she raced into the house because she had to pee so bad.

Since when do any of us get to drive off when a cop has us stopped?? I sure as hell wouldn't try pulling such a stunt.
Amanda's an entitled cunt !

If she'd been a black male the cop would have chased her ass down & it would've been on the 5:00 news as a 'high speed pursuit".

Wouldn't they get her address from the DMV, go to her house and arrest her?

Of course not, she is an actress. If it were any of us, that would have happened.

Wait a minute...she retired from acting about a year ago. She's not looking for any acting jobs. There's was a whole article about her retiring from show business.

Also...because she was a celebrity, still kinda is...she'll get off on all charges with a slap on the wrist for her bad behavior. The police are "Deciding" what to do? Give me a break. If this was a regular Joe shmo...the police would have been at their door within 5 min and they'd be in jail with a HUGE fine.

I would imagine that they could charge her with leaving the scene of a crime or even possibly resisting arrest (depending on the local laws). However, this is a state where a minor celebrity can drive down the wrong side of the freeway after taking some pills and smoking a joint and not have any real punishment, so I doubt seriously that anything will be done to her.

BigMama, what revelations about her?? Do tell lol

@big mama That is exactly what I was thinking. She could have been victim of tutor or show runner and seems to have a messed up life since her cute tween show days. Also, didn't she post a bunch of oversharing twit pics of herself? Cycle of abuse.

Okay...hit the pause button a second:
It's in the afternoon on a fairly open street. A cop pulls you over - though you know you're not speeding, drinking, or being reckless. Did I run over Rebecca Gayheart jaywalking? He wants to give me a medal for it? Okay, probably not.

He comes up to you and asks if you were on your phone. You blush, say YES OFFICER and then ask if that's a crime. He laughs - and asks for your license and registration. You hand it to him and sit and wait. All very polite, sober, and sane.

Moments pass.
More moments pass.
Officer returns to your car and chats you up again. Hands you your license back while doing his best CHiPs Frank Poncherello smile. His radio crackles about another call and he darts back to his car.

You tuck your license away. He's still sitting behind you but talking in his radio. He never gave you a ticket or even said you deserve one. Am I in trouble? He gave me my stuff back. Didn't say he was returning.

Well, crap. Do I sit here all effing day? Is he coming back? This is LAPD - I know better than to get out and approach HIS car. Well, okay then.

I signal, ease into traffic and pull up to a light. I sit there for a minute or two, still seeing him sitting in the same spot. I can see his car and he sees me. I guess if I WAS doing anything wrong, he'd come after me or hit his siren or something.

But nothing. Oh well, that was odd. Bye Mr. Ponch. Crap, I've missed my audition for She's The Man Part 2. DARN IT!!!

15 mins. later at home I get a voice mail. It's that same smiling officer. He's calling to apologize for not returning my registration. CRAP! Oops! I forgot all about that card. So I call him back and tell him no biggie- on my way to the station.

I get there and he tells me that he DID write me a ticket, got distracted by a serious call on the radio and he's sorry. No problem. I sign and he gives me my papers back. Tell him I'll pay the ticket tomorrow.

Before I can make it back home, the secretary in the precinct (who is on retainer to Harv at TMZ) has already texted the whole non-issue to TMZ. I arrive home and suddenly they make me out to be Estella Warren. WTF?? It's not even 6pm yet!

(NOTE: I haven't talked to Amanda or her sister about this. I'm not saying this is what happened. But what if it were? I've seen it happen innocently before. But funny how "authoritative" TMZ is).

I love you Himmmm! When are you going to start your own blog? ;)

*sheepishly* yeah.....I guesssss that could have happened. Buzz kill

BigMama? I didn't say it DID happen that way, just what if? For all I know Amanda showed him her iPhone porn cache or blew him and he forgot to write the ticket. Just sayin' it'll be interesting to see what really happened.

Why didn't the cop follow her? I don't get it.

Some variation of Himmmm's version of things makes sense. I mean who just drives off from a cop if he's standing there writing you a ticket. I bet there's a big chunk of this story that no one knows about. Cops who write tickets for using a cell phone while driving would have a field day where I live. I'd say it's about 70% of local drivers. It's a miracle there aren't more wrecks.

BigMama said...

@himmmm - Oh, I know. Fact is, it probably was something like that. Seeing how I may have done something similar in Tampa a few years back.....I miss that car. *sigh*

A site said that the cop didn't think it was worthwhile to go after her!!??

Wish they treated me like that.

(If it's true?)
