This is one of those cases where the photos look much more dramatic than what actually happened. The 18 year old son of Maria and Arnold got injured in a ski accident but he said that all he needed were some stitches on his back and that he has some bruises. When you look at the photo though you wonder how he could be alive.

thank god he didn't screw up his face he is a great looking guy. Yes i'm vapid lol.
Sonny Bono and Natasha Richardson come to mind. Anything that could involve a head injury gets you swaddled up like that.
It amazes me that someone thought to take a picture. He had to be in a lot of pain even if it wasn't life threatening.
Didn't another Kennedy die in a skiing accident not too long ago?
If you ski, please be oh so careful. It really is a dangerous sport. Yes it's fun, but that fun comes with a potential price.
I'm just glad he's going to be OK...and yes, better to be safe than sorry when dealing w/skiing injuries, or anything medical, really.
(That's something I've been told by a number of doctors over the years--they'd MUCH rather see you and have it turn out to be minor than to not see you and have it turn out to be major. So, when your abdominal surgical incision starts opening up around midnight, and you have to call 911 to get back to your hospital, only to have the ER doc on call sneer that it's not that deep & could have waited 'til morning, listen to your own personal doctor the next day when she says they'd rather deal w/that scenario than have the ambulance crew find you sitting on the living room floor trying to hold all your guts in, a la the monster in Andy Warhol's Frankenstein...not that I'd know anything about this, mind you...)
What is with these kennedy people? Why are they only 'alive' if they are flirting with death? Shldnt he be in school? How many more of them must die before someone says"hey lets be careful?". Adreniline junkies!

It was one of Maria's cousins who was killed in a skiing accident (around the same time Sonny Bono was, if memory serves, and it may not serve).
Michael Kennedy was killed in a skiing accident. Apparently, the Kennedys enjoyed playing some sort of football game on skis and that's what they were doing when he had his accident. He is also the one who was married to Frank Gifford's daughter and was fooling around with the babysitter.

I thought of the same thing when I first read this headline. Michael Kennedy (son of Robert and Ethel and infamous for his babysitter sex scandal) died after hitting a tree while playing football on skis in Aspen on 12/31/97. Sonny Bono (R/CA) was killed in an alleged skiing accident 1/5/98 near Lake Tahoe. Questionable circumstances surround his death until today.

When I saw that picture I thought, who would be heartless enough to shove a camera in the kid's face like that, then I saw the credit on the photo.
Reminds me of Solange Knowles when she twittered while on the way to the hospital - because she fainted, or something.
Sonny Bono hit a tree after going off trail. Skiing on trails are what the rest of us do. Even Double-diamonds, are not hard to break your neck on if you are not up to it.
It was the then-13-year-old son, Christopher Schwarzenegger, who was injured in the surfing accident last July, Little Miss. He was in ICU. Later there were photos of him out and about.
