Amber Portwood Tells Judge She Can't Get Clean
I feel like Amber Portwood should get some kind of break for being completely honest with a judge yesterday. While her lawyer stared in disbelief, Amber told the judge that she has not been clean since she has been sentenced to drug rehab and that she would never be clean and that she can't do it anymore and just wants to be sent to jail. Think that is rock bottom? Think she knows she needs help? Absolutely. Amber is looking at a five year sentence. That is a real sentences and not some fake Lindsay Lohan type sentence where she would get out in a week or two. You know Amber must have some demons if she is willing to be locked up that long. The judge had previously ordered the five year sentence, but I think that he is going to cut Amber a break and sentence her to a year which should give her 9 months to get totally clean before her release.

clearly she needs court-mandated rehab, halfway house and them supervision. this makes me sorta sad.

As much as I dont give a hoot about this chick, or anyone else from Sleaze Mom, I do wish her well and hope she can find the strength within herself to get clean, esp for the sake of her poor child. Addiction is horrible :( I hope she has in fact hit rock bottom (usually necessary) and can now begin the healing process and get on the road to recovery.
Agree @Observer, and if the judge determines that isn't a feasible alternative for her, in lieu of prison I'd have her remanded into the custody of a psychiatric facility because her brutal honesty makes her a good candidate for treatment imo.
This is actually the first thing she has done worthy of respect and well wishes IMO. Good for her.
I concur with CeciliaOO: She just leveled with the judge, cut through the BS and told the truth. I can giver her grudging respect for that, and the time away may be just what she needs to get clean. She obviously needs help of some kind, but if she won't take it, there you are. Good luck!
The judge tried to send her to a half way house and she somehow failed the interview process and they wouldn't accept her.
I always really liked her because I had severe PPD and I really just connected with her story and felt for her. Then a few months ago, within hours of getting out of jail, she sent threatening texts to her ex-boyfriend. At that point, I was just done rooting for her.
I am starting to feel for her again after this, I really do hope this helps her get her life back on track.
MTV has destroyed this girl's life. I feel sorry her child Leah. Her disgusting fat slob POS baby daddy helped in her downfall. She seriously needs mental therapy. Hope she gets better for the sake of her daughter. TEEN MOM needs to be canceled!
Amber was always the gun but MTV provided the bullets to spiral her down.

Why do people like her become famous? I just don't get it. Maybe it's because I'm middle aged and pedantic.

Are the only normal ones on Teenmom the couple that gave up their kid for adoption? All of them are INSANE, stuckup and superimmature.
Who also comes close to being normal is the first girl with the son named Bentley. She comes off as a good mom, the dad is a dumb SOB though:P
I'm not sure if any of you saw the footage of the season of Teen Mom that this girl was on...I used to watch it back then, and honestly - I tried so hard to feel sorry for her. Whether it is PPD, or clinical depression, bipolar - whatever it is that she suffers from you do have to feel some empathy but this girl is ridiculous. She takes the help and opportunities that people give her and squanders them, destroys them. I don't have much pity for a person who absolutely refuses help, especially when there is a child involved. She's a terrible mother, and I don't make that judgement lightly.
It annoys me when people blame mtv fir ruining portwoods life. She has/had loads of issues before mtv ever came on the scene, including getting pregnant as a 16 yr old. Her partner, gary, is just a big slobby immature teddy bear who did nothing but love and support her, not contibute to her downfall in any way. She did that herself.
And I read the other day teenage pregnancy rates were way way down, and experts think its because mtv shows such a gritty, real look at how it goes shen u get pregnant that young. So cancel- no! Its sorking!! Bet u never watched it!!
I think thats the point, that getting prenant and having kid at that age is insane and Immature-and it stinks! The teens friends drift away, the baby daddy drifts away, u fight with ur parents, u dont finish school- it isnt fun or glamous at all !
Yeah, and should she get special attention for stating the obvious- shes a junkie?! She needs alotta help.
Apparently she can't get thin, either.
She isn't going to get clean in jail. She's got enough cash that she shouldn't have any trouble getting drugs while she's there.
Thank you for stating the obvious Mooshki! I hope they take her kid away forever - not that he's going to be a genetic success or anything. The whole situation is sad.
