Joan Rivers & 50 Cent

It is a commercial, but it is pretty funny. Joan Rivers is having a rebirth for the fifth or sixth time in her career.

Why she ever had a single birth into show business is beyond me. I never could stand that woman, and as she's aged and begun to look more and more like a heavily made-up, walking corpse, I've liked her even less than before.

I kinda like her. But, I guess I just WOULD, wouldn't I? *L*

Me too, Maja, I'm old enough to recognize how she paved the way for women in comedy and she was very very funny. Now I can find her abrasive at times, and her surgery is SICK - but at least she admits that. She is a very hard worker - unfortunately my husband watches Celebrity APprentice and I couldn't believe how hard she puts herself on the line.

I think I feel about her like someone in my family - annoys me a great deal but still like her.

I like her she's a strong woman and it wasn't easy when she started out...she deserves a lot of credit.

She kicked open a lot of doors and indeed deserves credit. I loved her documentary "A Piece of Work".

I like this ad, and I like Joan.

She's flawed, abrasive, and can be annoying, but she is totally aware of it. She's also grateful for everything she has and she works hard to keep it.

What the others said(positively) about Joan - and yeah, that documentary A Piece of Work totally changed my mind about her. Particularly the section where she talks about letting her manager go after so many years. Had no idea she was so charitable, either.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Joan. Best live comic I've ever seen.

Agree / above posters. Miss Joanie is classic. Watch her doc and see what the fuss is about. She broke the glass ceiling of stand up/comedy for us chickies. Believe (correct me please) that she pissed Johnny Carson off something fierce and he tried shutting her down. He was always a prick.

I agree with the Joan lovers. She is one hardworking lady!

Aunt Jess - yes that is correct, Joan was on Carson show all the time and Then Joan was offered her own show, and Johnny never forgave her for taking it. I once heard her say when he died she feels a great deal of pain about Johnny, she loved him and then he cut her off.

A piece of work made me like her. Never knew her hubby committed suicide. Tragic.

She's witty, and though I've never been a huge fan, she's been around since my youth, and I can't hate on her. Good for her.

I admire Joan, but she has one huge flaw: she can't stand any woman who's overweight. I remember her calling Kate Winslet fat at the Oscars (titanic), and she also did the same to Alicia Silverstone at an awards show. Her idea of beautiful is emaciated, and that's warped.

I like Joan, and I have for years. Loved her talk show on Fox and I think she really go screwed over by Diller. And I loved her daytime talk show as well.

If you guys like Joan, you should really see this movie she either wrote or directed waaaay back in the early 70's called "The Girl Most Likely To..." with Stockard Channing. I saw it as a kid and thought it was a horror movie. LOL But after recently seeing it again I realize it was just black humour, which I love.
