National Enquirer Blind Item

Which hunky prime-time star of a new hit show, who plays the loyal love interest, is actually gay? The actor was spotted at a gay watering hole in Los Feliz, Calif., carrying on with his buddies and one special guy in particular who kept rubbing his back?

Eh, you know what? Who cares?

Here in NC "we" (fucking backwater morons) just passed the stupidest Amendment you ever heard of.

Fuck it.

LIVE AND LET LIVE.

"God" might be against gays, but guess what? God is also against HATE.

@Selenakyle - I"m from NC as well... with ya allll the way! except i dont think God is against gays.. just hate. I've never been so ashamed to say I'm a North Carolinian

M said...

See, this is what is ticking me off. I'm also in NC. Don't be ashamed to be here. It's a great state. Be disappointed in the people you disagree with. And do remember that 29 other states have the same amendment (and mind you, I voted against it).

It doesn't even make sense to vote on a civil rights issue. The minority who is seeking equal rights always loses because they're in the MINORITY. Not right.

That cracked me up MsCool.

Agree with the previous comments - I also live in a rediculous conservative state where folks think they're getting the di-rect word from the Lord re. who we should hate - makes me want to scream. Love everybody, period. That's the real deal, but people just can't handle that.

Anyhoo, just wanted to comment cause when I read the BI I thought it said "husky actor", and I was cracking up. It gave me a flashback to buying clothes at Sears circa 1978.

MISCH said...

Exactly who cares ? 86 % of the male actors are gay and a good % of the female....and always have been. It just doesn't matter.

MISCH said...

P.S. I am always amazed at those who speak for God....the nerve using God to suit your narrow beliefs..

Frufra said...

@MISCH - me too!!!! Have you seen the billboards put up by some anonymous blowhard with some kind of stupid "quote from God" on them?

Example - "You think it's hot HERE?" --God

They make me want to just wreck my car into them. Presuming to speak for God? Passing judgement on innocent highway drivers? It just blows my mind.

I I think this is the actor who plays jack on revenge

I'm not going to guess because it's not cool to out people.

And, about NC, I'm sorry, but I would never live in a backward state like that. Yes, I know there's the tech corridor there, but don't people know that gays tend to have more disposable income? And highly educated people tend to be liberal? I'd be worried about a brain drain in that state.

It's ok to marry your cousin at the age of 14, but you can't marry the love of your life. Bigots.

Grey said...

Please please please please tell me this is Josh Dallas from Once Upon a Time

M said...

@Grey I don't think so -- he's not very loyal in the show. He doesn't believe what's her face when she goes to jail that she didn't commit the murder.

Syd said...

Mark Deklin from GCB?

Jules_345 said...

@Frufra, my 16 year old feels the same way about those billboards and then I have to listen to him rant for the next 100 miles.

No clue on the blind...

Brenda L said...

Hey I'm in NC too and I am just mortified that my state is embroiled in this. However, I have some "backwoods conservative Bible-thumping relatives" and I could tell you some stories. I'll save ya'll the energy of rolling your eyes though.

Cindy said...

@Syd -- being born and raised in Texas (transplanted happily out, tyvm) loves me some GCB.

And as far as NC is concerned, the people will eventually change their mind -- it's gonna happen.

As far as the blind -- once we stop singling out gays, they will be much more mainstream. Why does it matter who you sleep with as long as it's legal and consenting?

hunter said...

God OBVIOUSLY hates unicorns because I never see any. :(

Laura said...

also nc here, 4 year degree and dh in tech with masters, we voted against

that being said...i always assume the guy who plays phil on modern fam is gay in real life

selenakyle said...

What peeves me off about my fellow constituents is they did not READ (nor think-through, nor vote for) the ENTIRE bill, first of all.

In their haste to "protect marriage" they also put their daughters, sisters, aunts and nieces (and those women's children), in harm's way by killing women's rights in heterosexual civil unions.

THAT is the moronic part. So yes, I do hold that against my fellow Carolinians who voted for the Amendment.

Alli Morgan said...

Haha it seems like it's all NC all the time in this comment thread. I'm here too, and like the rest of you I'm bummed out by the Amendment's passing. However, I guess I'm glad my county passed it? At least I know there are some forward thinking people around me :)

Um, yeah, it's called acting. National Enquirer is such a dinosaur. I can't believe they still have the money to operate.

@LazyDay - I love it!! Count me in for a contribution also!

Love the comments. Ya'll rock!

Would love to see lazyday's billboard here in Oklahoma. . .

Frufra said...

Hey Momster - fellow Okie here! I obviously support the new and improved message billboard! Wouldn't it just be the best - definitely would make the top of the news here in OKC.

Didn't an atheist group cause a stir with billboards not too long ago round these parts?

Frufra said...

@Jules, I can tell you're doing a fine job raising that boy - keep it up!

My own boy cracked me up the other day when he asked my why I had a bunch of "Flanders books" in the back of my car. ( I had culled them out from donations to our public school - didn't think they were appropriate to offer to our teachers.) He's a good boy, too :-).

Also, I really think God hated passenger pigeons.

I have a gay brother and a gay sister. I cannot believe there needs to be a discussion about who you can love and partner with. I love the Rachel Maddow quote that Snapdragon mentioned.

I hate gay blinds. Live and let live. Can't wait for people's sexual orientation to be a nonissue and a non-story. People love who they love. I think that's lovely. Also I am a born and bred (not inbred) Southerner.

Litre-a-cola said...

Another North Carolinian here! :) I too voted against Amendment One and cannot stand the bigots that voted for it. But I still love me some NC and I'm not ashamed to live here, just ashamed in some of the people.

Sherry said...

And yet ANOTHER born and bred North Carolinian..I now live in SF so you can guess MY attitude about it all. I lived with someone for 10 yrs and we were never common law. We were considered roommates in the eyes of the law. I am having a hard time trying to 'splain to people how not everyone from my home state is a back water idiot. It's just reeeaaalll hard convincing them. I can tell you though I'll bet my cousins are behind what just passed. But then they still use the N word (shudder!)

Did anyone make a guess at the blind, or is it nothing but bitchin' about the North Carolina amendment?

I won't guess at the blind for a couple of reasons. 1. I don't care about anyone's sexuality. 2. It's so vague it could be anybody. 3. I don't care. No, wait, I said that already.

I'm also from NC. I also voted against Amendment One. I firmly believe it will have consequences that range far beyond what people thought. And I fully believe it will be repealed someday. I only hope and pray (yes, I'm a Christian and support gay rights) that I live to see it.

Mary Ann said...

P.S. What I mean by "I don't care" is that it doesn't matter to me. A person's sexuality doesn't affect my opinion of him/her any more than the color of his/her hair.

Josh Bowman from 'Revenge'.

there's been gay rumors about him

bandy said...

Another NC registered voter, who voted against the amendment.

Frankly, it's no one's business what 2 consenting adults do behind closed doors. People need to learn how to mind their own business.

For those of you who actually supported this amendment. Do you want complete and total strangers to know what kind of sex acts you perform? If your answer is NO, then keep your nose out of other people's lives. And quit wasting my tax dollars on BS like this amendment.

If you answer is YES, then you are one sick individual and need to get your head examined.

lindenga said...

Look, I'm from NC. Everyone I know voted to pass gay marriage. It took quite a few votes to pass in CA too. Yes NC has a LONG way to go, but every generation had their civil rights issues to work through. We will get there.

Just love the comments.

@VC, You were born and raised here? You have been one of me commenter 'heroes' on CDAN for some time, but i had no idea that you came from MS. Bless [you -- apply your preferred noun/pronoun here], i believe that you have successfully left it behind based on your comments!

I was brought to MS at the age of 5 and left ASAP @ 18.

Unfortunately, i've fallen back into the numerous rings of hell in recent years.

But there are still some dissenters to the general trend of the state as there obviously are among the NC population. We just need to get out and vote!

@selenakyle -
Another frustrated North Carolinian here. I also heard that 4 million people DIDN'T vote. I don't think anyone with a brain that had actually read the Amendment would have voted for this.

I live in a county that voted against it, but looking at the breakdown of who/how it was voted on was very, very depressing.

Alli said...

As a proud Mississippi native, not all of us are backwards rednecks who are full of hatred for those different from us. I can't apologize for all those who are, but don't be so hypocritical about judging me because of the state in which I was raised.
