I'm kinda with Texshan. My first comment was "Why they hell didn't they dress up"? I'm from the south and we were absolutely sure God could see us sitting in the pews so wear something respectful. However, as I got older I realized that so long as you make it to worship you're halfway there. Still hooker heels and pajamas just don't seem right. Sigh..

Seaward, calm down. Yes, I think people who wear revealing clothes to church are skanky. I also think rich people who wear jeans and t-shirts and house slippers to church are ridiculous. So what? How does that in ANY way impact you?
And I disagree -- how you dress for church DOES matter, as it shows respect for your surroundings. If you don't have money for nice clothes, that's fine -- just wear the nicest you have. But sluttin' into the sanctuary -- God's house -- in a micromini or ambling in wearing an undershirt when everyone knows you have more appropriate clothes is just stupid and disrespectful.
It seems like there is a bit of regional difference going on here. In CA there are lots of types of churches and many, many born again types. While I have no idea what type BAG and MFox attend -- I will say that the born again disciples do not get dressed up for church. It's their thing to be casual. I' ve also lived in the south and have seen the traditional get dressed up on Sunday parade of people. I wouldn't assume it's disrespectful here, just different. I have no skin in this game, I'm not a believer in anything you can't prove with science.
Flip..I agree. I have been to services here (Nor Cal) and people wear jeans. In NC that would never happen save for maybe a very progressive Episcopal church. I knew some people that were turned away because all their kids had on shabby clothes and tennis shoes because they were dirt poor and I think that was a sin. It made me turn against the church because it seemed like it was all about appearances and not about what was in your heart. NOW, I am still gonna complain about someone wearing hooker heels and a revealing dress. You are obviously seeking something other than God (maybe attention, say?).

I agree that Matthew M looks very odd. He lost weight in a strange way. His head got really narrow. On the plus side, his arms look slightly less T-rex on his skinnier frame.
I will still do MM right after bathing him. I love how he wears his sleeves like that so his arms dont look as T-rex.

So funny coincidence. My friend said he was furniture shopping in a small shop yesterday and the owner said he had to lock the front door, with my friend still inside, because someone was coming.
Turned out to be Miley Cyrus and her mom and Liam Hemsworth. I figured the locking of the front door was to keep gawkers and paparazzi out so they wouldn't be bothered, but guess someone managed to get in.
I'm going to take some liberty and speak for God here. He doesn't care what you wear - if you show up, that's awesome. Be loving, non-judgmental of others (yes, I do see the irony of me writing this on a gossip blog -ha!), say a prayer for those in need, and be thankful and grateful for your many blessings. AMEN!

P.S. I'm not trying to call anybody out - that's not my thing. I just hope that people looking for something who want to attend church don't feel like they are going to be judged. I have been a Christian my whole life, but I know people who have been at the end of their rope and stumbling into a Church one day helped them clean up their acts. I'd hate for some people not to receive that same grace :)
I am willing to stipulate that we are probably dealing with a regional difference here, for the most part.
Also, do you ever think Liam looks at the people around him and thinks, "I am far too hot for this train wreck of shit?"

I think it depends on the area and the church. I grew up going to lots of different denominations in both SC and NJ. In SC, particularly my little church, which was filled with old school grannies in their Sunday Best, you dressed up. When I attended in NJ, it was way more lax and I remember LOVING that.
@Sherry - That's a horrible story about those kids being turned away. :( Makes me so sad.
I personally wouldn't wear a miniskirt and tube top to church, but I don't really see a problem with what Megan or BAG is wearing other than her bedroom slippers, mostly b/c they look freaking ridiculous.
People being turned away from church for their clothing/appearance is an abomination. I will again paraphrase one of my top-50-fave bible verses: "People look at the outside appearance; God looks at the heart." No one seeking God should be turned away for any reason by a person who simultaneously thinks they have God's favor. ANYONE who puts a stumbling block in front of a person seeking Truth will have to answer to God for it.

People, I want to reiterate that I am talking about CELEBRITIES and what they choose to wear to church. I think it's ridiculous for rich people to dress like BAG and MF did. You know they have better hanging in their closets. By the way, according to the Daily Mail, that photo of Camilla and Matthew? They were also heading to church. While they are casually dressed, as well, I think they look fine. There is a difference between casual and sloppy.
As I wrote further up, if someone doesn't have nice clothes, they should just wear the best they have to church. And yes, turning a person away from church simply because of what they are wearing is an affront to God. But I never insinuated in even the slightest way that anyone should ever do that.
@Texshan - I understand that's not what you were implying, but my point was, if their church is one where everyone is casually dressed, why on earth would they dress up? Just b/c they have the money to do so?
I don't truly think Jesus/God care what you wear to church. ;)
