Jack Osbourne Says He Was Fired From TV Show Because Of MS

Jack Osbourne was on The Talk yesterday. I guess people still watch that show. Anyway, while he was on the show he said that he was recently fired from another television show because he has MS. Jack was supposed to be a contestant on Stars Earn Stripes which is going to air on NBC. If Jack was going to be on it, then they must have been really going for A listers. I have nothing against the guy, but is he a star? I almost said really there. I caught myself. It is a tough habit to break. I think writing it makes it easier to stop then when you are saying it. Anyway, Jack said the producers didn't think he could handle it. It is for "stars." How tough could it be? Yes, it is on a military base and "resembles" military exercises but they also get lots of breaks and assistants and things the military doesn't get.

I'm sure the diagnosis makes it hard to get insurance for him. Producers can sign someone else of his...caliber and pay less $.

Financial liability. Happens to us average folks all the time.

Wouldn't the producers require physicals/doctor opinions on a show like that? Would the producers make a call like that without physician consultation? I highly doubt it.

Why is Sara Gilbert still on this thing? Couldn't she find a more productive way to spend her time? Another sitcom, maybe? Maybe she's mesmerized by Sharon's purple head.

I agree with GrowFarmington. This is probably an insurance issue, and it's stupid/arrogant for him to think anything else.

I wonder what his reaction will be if he loses his UK driver's license because of the disease.

@nolachickee, Sara Gilbert created the show. I think she's the only Julie Chen would not be able to fire.

I agree it's most likely an insurance issue related to his MS.
His take on it is BS.

This kind of crap's so ubiquitous it's pitiful. Reminds me of ABC's "DWTS." How many "stars" have ever been on that show? A few has-beens, definitely, and a lot of wannabes, and a few such as Chaz Bono whose only claim to fame is that his mother was once a music and TV star.

It boggles my mind that Sharon, Jack, and Kelly are considered celebrities. Sorry you have MS, Jack, but right now, you are fame-whoring.

Apparently he is being replaced by Todd Palin. And yes I agree it's about insurance. Jack will probably be fine more often than not over the next several years but you can't announce something like this and then pop onto some highly physical show. They're using words like 'arduous journey' to describe it.

Here is who NBC says is on the show:
boxing royalty Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain, former NFL player Terry Crews, singer Nick Lachey, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” trainer Dolvett Quince and WWE star Eve Torres.

It's going to be hosted by Samantha Harris and retired Gen. Wesley Clark. From Supreme Allied Commander for NATO to Stars Earn Stripes. How the mighty have fallen.

Completely agree with you, Little Miss.

If any of us straight off the street auditioned for survivor or big brother, road rules(is that still on?) or any other kind of endurance compitition and had the exact same disease we would be let go to. The only difference is we don't have mommy's talk show to whine on. And it sucks I know, I have dystonia and am limited in things I can do but I suck it up and carry on the best I can cause sometimes it's not about what you can't do but what you can.

My wife watches this show, usually when I am trying to get some sleep, I cannot take the constant fake applause and screaming from the audience. Also Julie Chen and Toke Fat Lout Black Best Friend need to go.

Jack's not a star, but he's been on this type of reality show.

Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie

http://www.totalfilm.com/jack-osbourne-adrenaline-junkie

First shown on ITV2, these three 45-minute episodes follow Ozzy and Sharon's obese 19-year-old as he undertakes six months of gruelling activity in a bid to drop four stones and climb the 3,000-ft El Capitan rock face in Yosemite Valley. His guides are superfit bronzed Brits Mike and girlfriend Bean, who tutor him in Thai boxing, bull-running, rock climbing and colonic irrigation.

yes, my God, how far Wes Clark has fallen ~facepalm~

@ bobbi_1025 - absolutely agree. If the "show" said "aw, shucks Jack, we'll make an exception to mandated insurance policies",then all legal hell would break loose.

MISCH said...

So he'll sue...that's next.

I think it's funny that CBS is going to court over ABC stealing their Big Brother format for The Glass House when CBS stole The View as a vehicle for Julie Chen to be on The Talk.

I thought Jack was doing something in law enforcement now?

This is the most media attention Jack has gotten in years. He is going to milk it for all it's worth.

I hope the producers put out a press release saying he failed the physical and couldn't be insured. Which like the others above sounds more like the truth than Jack's version.

Ughhh I can't stand this show or The View. There's something about grown women talking over each other THE ENTIRE TIME that makes me want to punch myself in the face.

I am with timebob. He is milking it for all it is worth. Who even needed to know that he had MS? He told for the publicity he could get out of it. He needs to go away and be thankful for everyday he has with his fiancee and baby instead of getting his ego stroked on stupid TV shows like The Talk.

nightowl said...

That would be 'every day' not everyday.

He and Kelly are such entitled brats.

I have a heart condition and there is a shitload of things I'm not allowed to do. It's not a "wah wah people are just being mean to me" issue. Hell I couldn't even ride a roller coaster at Disneyland, due to those "Guests with heart conditions are not permitted to ride" signs, until I had my first heart surgery and my cardiologist said my condition was stable and it was safe to do so (at age 28!) This kind of thing is all about insurance and people trying to avoid lawsuits. It's not personal. Jack is being a famewhore by even bringing this up.

P.S. Can all these crappy reality shows stop using words like "Celebrities" and "Stars" already? Nobody who appears on these kinds of shows is ever higher than D-List.

Instead of bringing attention to this disease (I have a friend who has gone blind suddenly, and regained her vision, been unable to walk and worked her way back.)(That's what I know of, she is not a whiner. She tolerates stuff that would make me whimper and go back to bed forever.) this tool is complaining that he was fired from a show exhibiting extreme physicality. This disease is not a walk in the park. It's unpredictable in the extreme. Aside from the insurance issue, which is probably the reason, I have to wonder what this kind of physical stress would do to newly diagnosed MS.

Who is that duck-lipped beauty next to Jack? No, not Sharon, Jack's other side. Man oh man, that girl's face sums up all of what's wrong with celebrity-obsessed LA women.

That is jack's wife

Good luck to Jack, his wife and lil bebe. Saw him on Piers the other night. It seemed like he was more pissed about the way they let him go. I get that but IRL business is business no matter who your mommy and daddy are.

He can sue but he will not win and he will look foolish. Pisses me off because my former co-worker developed MS at age 50 and I have seen her struggles. He should be thanking God that his family has money to get him the best medical advice available and then share that knowledge with others who suffer from the same disease. I know I am supposed to feel bad for him, but I do not. Self centered jerk.
