Kellie Pickler Dropped By Her Record Label
It;'s tough to stay on a record label if you are not selling records. But you know what? I'm not sure you even need a record label now. Kellie Pickler was dropped by her record label, but she makes more money by touring and making public appearances than she ever did by selling records. Kellie has been on Sony for about six years. her initial album right after American Idol sold 800,000 copies. Back in 2006, everyone was selling records. Her most recent record sold 74,000 copies. Not great, but it's enough that she knows she can go out on tour and people will come see her play. Meanwhile she can find an independent label or just sell records on her own. Kellie is in one of my favorite blind items. I wonder if anyone can figure out which one that is.

I like Kellie. She seems funny and real. I thought she was doing well with her music because I hear her song "100 Proof" on the radio often.
All I know is "Pick Pickler!" and then new boobs.
95% of artists make their living touring. There's little money that goes to them from album sales. The money's in publishing rights and tours.

I always like Kellie, she just blurts out the truth.
I know she has done some kindness things so maybe it was a nice blind.

Exactly what Yawn said, only very established artists (think U2, Madonna, Metallica, etc.) make money off albums and even that is not that much. The money is in touring and merchandizing.
The only thing I know of her was an appearance on Are You Smarter Than a 5th (4th?) Grader? She is as stupid as it gets. I can't stand that. Her and Jessica Simpson and the others who play sweet and dumb do the world such a disservice.
Looking at her face, I think she messed around with it. She looks like she's in her late 30s.

At a recent event a paraplegic teenager in a wheelchair had been waiting with his mom for about two hours so he could meet his favorite singer and get her autograph and hopefully a picture with her. Well, after the event, the singer came by and said, "Don't you look cute in that chair." The teenager then asked for the singer's autograph and she said, "Oh sorry, not today, I'm too tired, but I hope you feel better soon." She then walked away."
^BAH HAHAHA!!! That's got to be her.
When she got big after Idol, I felt sorry for the chef she insulted (I remember she acted rather self-entitled towards him and told him she was going to be a star while she was doing Idol). Now he can smile a little. Sorry, but being dumped by your label for low record sales must hurt. At least the ego, anyway.
I would not consider her A list.
While I want to sit here and list the reasons why I think that blind is not her, I dont have the right since I dont have any other guesses.
@anita: Her appearance on that show was mortifying, right up there with Miss South Carolina's inane babbling at the Miss Teen USA pageant.

I think that A-list blind was about Carrie Whatshername... it appeared right around the time the revealed Carrie Underwood blind came out about her not being able to remember simple lines and doing a commercial...
I have to say, I met/dealt with Kelly Pickler in a professional situation...she was tough, like she's had a hard knock life, but she was still incredibly nice, very professional, and courteous to everyone she came in contact with...I always felt like she did not have the barracudas managing her that Underwood did/does...her management didn't seem to give a crap about her...and she didn't seem to have that taste for the jugular you need when you are a female artist who is not married to her manager/producer etc.
I remember how truly beautiful she was - very tiny too, and I told her how beautiful she looked and she was so sweet about it - she even complimented me in return. I feel badly for her but if she's smart & finds the right management team she'll parlay her fame into much better things, I hope.
I couldn't stand her on AI because she truly is SO very stupid, and she went flat and off-key ALL the time. (Her recordings must have amazing producers, because THEY actually sound all right.)
That said, she does a lot of charity work, especially for animals -- she's a vegan -- and the USO. (She has a progressive tat that she adds on to every time she goes overseas on a tour.) And she seems truly sweet, especially to fans, from what I've heard. So my opinion of her is much more favorable now. Still dumb as a post, though, and that's no act. If the blind is a favorite one, I'm sure it's a kindness blind.

I saw that show! My opinion of her went WAY down. I didn't know who she was, but I knew she was dumber than a box of rocks.
Something happened between her and her label... You don't go from 449,000 sold on her last album to 74,000 on her current one unless the label wants it that way.
If I were that mother, TMZ would have headlined Kelly Pickler bitchslapped at recent event - video!
Can't hate on her. She did a charity event last month for the one year anniversary of the Alabama Tornadoes. She and Deirks Bentley drove down from Nashville, without an entourage and performed for nothing, just to raise money to rebuild Cullman, AL.

I don't know if it is because it has been awhile since I had a blind item about country music singers or the fact of who this is about, but I love this one. Two country singers. The male is A++ list. Married. To a celebrity. Can't say too much about the wife or it would totally give it away. The other singer is a woman. Probably a B list in the country singing world. Maybe that is just because of her name recognition though. She is also in a significant relationship. Anyway, the two have known each other for a few years. They met in a meeting if you know what I mean. Her for one reason and him for another. The next thing you know, they are trying to arrange tour dates close to each other and meeting at a place in Nashville when his wife is out of town. She has said the sex is kind of boring and quiet but really likes him and feels sorry for him. What about your boyfriend or his wife? I wonder if she feels sorry for them.
That sounds more like Keith Urban than Tim McGraw to me - save the A++ part...Then again, Faith Hill doesn't seem boring to me, but Nicole Botox Queen Kidman does...Or truthfully, I like Tim and Faith more than Keith and Nicole. The girl does sound like it could be Kelly though...Good work! I remember the blinds about her new hubby cheating that enty Did reveal...
I've met Kellie and she is very nice to her fans. Her current album is great, like classic country. It deserved better. She is not a list country so the first blind isn't her.
Snowstorms, I agree. We definitely know that Keith "attends meetings, if you know what I mean." I don't know that Kellie's ever been really B-list, though. Strong C, I would say.
So, for that blind, I would guess Keith and...someone else? I don't know if Hillary Scott "attends meetings," but she and Lady A definitely toured with Keith, and at the time of the blind, her husband would have been her boyfriend, as stated. Hmm.
