Bryce Courtenay Has Died


Best-selling Australian author Bryce Courtenay, who wrote about the struggles of life in Australia and South Africa, died at his home in Canberra, his publisher said on Friday, just two weeks after his latest novel was published. His death late on Thursday came less than three months after he told fans he had stomach cancer. He was 79.

Very sad. I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Power of One, and it's follow up Tandia. He was a great writer.

Power of One was and still is one of the books/movies that left me touched by the story

The Potato Factory series is amazing too...listen to the audible version if you have a long trip. RIP, Mr. C. I'm a huge fan.

He was south african, Christopher Cruz but had lived in Australia for much of his life.

I know a lot of people enjoy his writing but please don't take his australian novels of convict life seriously. it wasn't quite like that. it was worse.
