Paula Broadwell's Husband Hasn't Dumped Her Yet

Apparently Paula Broadwell's husband is willing to be cheated on in the most publicly humiliating way that has happened since Eliot Spitzer got caught with that hooker who is now pregnant and engaged to some guy who left his wife for the hooker. Eliot's wife stood next to her husband and apparently is still with the guy. Last night Paula Broadwell went on a date with her husband, or at least she tried to make it look like a date because she was grabbing on to his arm like he might flee any second. How do you think he likes going to work? "Hey Scott, your wife sleep with any Generals today?" If your spouse cheats and you can keep it quiet, I think it is possible to work it out, but when you are humiliated like this in public and have to see it in the news everyday all day and it feels like it is never going away, then I'm not sure how any couple survives that. Maybe he thinks he can hold on long enough until she goes to jail.

The other thing that is crazy to me is they went out. Like out of the house where they are holed up. Who does that? What that shows to me is that there is some attention seeking going on here and a love of the spotlight.

I believe both spouses found out about this in June, so they were prepared for this, as much as one can be. I don't think I would've stuck around if I was in that position.

I live near them and tried to do a drive-by last week but couldn't even turn on the street because there were so many media people camped out. I feel sorry for all of their neighbors!

I agree with you Enty, definitely some attention seeking behavior, or maybe a backward way of giving what the media what they want and not hiding anymore. It must be truly awful to be hounded by the media, I would never ever ever ever sign myself up for that kind of attention.I don't care how much money one can make being a public figure. It seems like a living hell. What kind of vacuous, flea brained nit wit would do that, just for the attention? Oh right the Kardashians and Paris Hilton.

When I first saw this, I read it as Paula Poundstone.

Maybe he cheated too.

You really can't stay together inside a house indefinitely. You get cabin fever. THAT would kill a marriage faster than infidelity, in my opinion.

I LOL every time I see that Broadwell lady. She's got the cray-cray eyes.

Unknown said...

Is this the sign of a very strong marriage or a bad one? I honestly can't tell.

Let me have a brief moment of happiness that I'm single...okay, that's over, now let me stalk exes on facebook ;p

Lets not forget Anthony Weiner who literally showed his weiner to women on twitter while his wife was pregnant with their 1st child. I believe she's still with him to this day although to her credit, no actual cheating was ever discovered.

I thought this Paula's husband wrote in to an advice column about leaving his wife?

who knows they might have open marriage-BOTH getting bizzay on the side...

she's not going to jail.

@Goherls, oh come on! you can surely walk by.....we need you ON this!

i think the embarassing thing for him is the letter HE wrote asking for advice. people leave/stay for many reasons. perhaps the dinner was to discuss a divorce in a peaceful way.

Millions in debt, including many small businesses they screwed over right in Tampa, I'd refuse to serve them, since they rack up bills and then dispute the charges.

SusanB said...

I think they'll stay together until the fuss dies down - then they'll get a quiet divorce.

Sherry said...

Angela did you click into the wrong site for your comment? WTH does this have to do with Paula Broadwell and her cuckholded husband?

auntliddy said...

Thats her business, but i bet his phone is under lock and key, lol

Hardly attention-seeking. The Washington press corps has been camped outside the house (her brother's mansion) for a week now for literally every minute, and this is the first time she's tried to get out.

It's all a classic CIA distraction anyway, the whole affair, an orgy of evidence you don't see ever (and especially not when it comes to the CIA director). She won't be prosecuted, he won't be prosecuted, because it's all a cover distraction. He waited until right after the election to resign; upon resigning and becoming a private citizen he signed a nondiclosure agreement. The D.C. press corps now writes stories 100 percent forgetting why they were focusing on him in the first place.

Angela said...

Oops, was thinking it was the Kelley trick, they look alike sue me and take a pill while you're at it, WTH indeed.

Meagan said...

I got the impression that the hubby was a bit off too if he is the one who wrote the letter to the NYT-- I didn't know if it had been proven?! Then the sign in chalk on the front drive that said "Dad loves Mom"-- seems like he loves the drama as much as she does. She does seem crazy.

Angela, I think you are confusing Paula with Jill Kelley, the other woman in this scandal. She and her hubby live in FL and are apparently in all kinds of debt, waste tax dollars by calling 911 all too frequently and are military/ social climbers. It's a shame these woman weren't friends-- think of the destruction and fame whoring they could accomplish...

This expectation that families must split after one spouse cheats is destructive. Particularly to children although I don't think that's the case here?

Lots of people cheat. Some get caught. A few get massive publicity. Either way if every family who had ever had an indiscretion was torn apart, it'd be a massive upheaval.

Did anyone notice that both Paula Broadwell and Linda Kelley both had meals in front of reports? They were in their houses, but the media was looking right at them eat. I was like, "turn down your blinds!"

I think Petraus has a thing for attention seeking women.

Anon said...

Can you really blame Petraues ,look at what he goes home to every night.

Anon said...

if I was Broadwell's husband:

Take a leave of absence from work, lawyer up and asked for sole custody of the kids, incuding child support and future earnings from any book deals of Paula.
any visitations with the kids will be with be monitored by a 3rd party of my choice.
Ensure Paula undergoes sex addiction counseling as well.
There's an Alienation of Affection law in N. Carolina where jilted spouses can sue the boufriend/girlfirend for aid in the destruction of their marriage, sue Petreaus under that.
Hire a babysitter/nanny for the kids that's half the wife's age and dress size, preferrbly BLONDE to accompany the kids and me to all family outings.Ensure there's a camera to capture such moments.
Join a gym and hire a stylist,Paula's husband looks rough around the edges.

SusanB said...

So it's ok to cheat if your spouse isn't attractive anymore? What a stupid asshole thing to say.

JosieJo said...

I thought this guy wrote into an advice column to help decide if he should save his marriage. Some couples can actually move forward from infidelity. But honestly, if I were going through all of this and had been holed up for days that seemed like they never ended, I'd probable want to go out too - maybe even with the person who caused it and let the paparazzi be damned. But I probably wouldn't be cheating.

WUWT? said...

Pugglewug, that totally made me laugh! Paula Poundstone!
One thing worse than the CIA director having an affair with an author would be the CIA director having an affair with a comedienne!

Anon said...

No more of an asshole if your're fucking another woman's husband while your OWN husband is at home with the kids.

Anon said...

Petreaus is or an high ranking official. There are women like Paula and Jill Kelley throwing themselves at him left and right. His wife should have known better.Michelle knows better. She knows there's women willing to do any and everything to/for Barrack. You won't catch Michelle slippin'.Petreaus's wife looks older than he does.Paula Broadwell is 40.40 year old pussy to an 60 year old man is like just-turn-18teen.

Saffron said...

I don't think Petraus' wife looks particularly older than him, but she's let herself go i.e frumpy, overweight etc. Lots of powerful men cheat because they get away with it, selfishness, and many more reasons.

So keep his wife out of it.

SusanB said...

Cheating because your spouse is"slipping" is a pathetic excuse to try to justify bad behavior and poor judgment. True of both petreaus and broadwell. People cheat on good looking partners all the time. Look at all the good looking celebrities...brad Pitt,Angie,Jen...ted Kennedy...some people have a selfish sense of entitlement

bekH said...

Goheels, where does she live? I can help you get the scoop for everyone. I'll be running all over town pet sitting and I can be pretty sneaky...

Anon said...

Yep,cheating because your spouse isn't as goodlooking as they used to be
Is a pathetic excuse so his spouse prolly sucked in the sack as well.
There was a story about how Petreaus met his wife.Apparently, she was stood up by another fellow so Petreaus stepped in and took one for the team.Ol' Pet wasn't interested until he found out his future bride was the daughter of the Supt of West Point, the military academy he was attending at that time.Marrying that woman was a good career move for Petreaus, kinda' like a chick dating her boss.

Pip said...

@JustCurious, What the fuck is wrong with you? None of your comments make much sense. Are you a woman? I really hope not. The way you write about women, makes you come off as a total pig.

@bekH she lives in Dilworth/edge of Myers Park on Mt. Vernon.

Amy, how sadly true.

Gender has nothing to do with piggish behavior. You should be upset with so called WOMEN like Paula and Jill and not me.That's your so-call sisters-in-the-struggle who are acting piggish by fucking their fellow sister's husband.Funny, reminds me of that FEMALE astronaut who drove around wearing a diaper just to find and kill her ex-boyfriend's new girl.
When it comes to a man or a job,a woman gives 2 fucks about feminism or sisterhood.

Anon said...

Her husband got busted for infidelity, she's already in it.

Pip said...

Wow, you are quite the misogynist. Good luck with that.

No more of a misogynist than Kim K,Demi,Madonna,Britney and any female who used sex as a commodity.Your young daughters and neicies(?) Will follow them B4 they follow any female who achieved everything she wanted by keeping her legs closed.

Go Heels, this story has pulled me out of reader only status, so let me join you in saying I also live near The Dilworth Succubus, as my mother calls her, and it is not easy to get close. However, a friend and I are going to try for a Close Encounter over Thanksgiving....

Perhaps Mrs. Petraeus "let herself go," (welcome to middle age; I feel her pain) but the Mister looks like a wizened peanut. He's no catch either.

It's the old power thing...thems that have it let it go to their heads (both) and thems that want to be near power and influence will trade sex for that proximity to it.

People. :/

@Susan THANK YOU! I was waiting for someone to point out how certain people feel entitled to anything they want, fidelity, loyalty, class, tact, etc. be damned. The one quality I despise most about people is entitlement.

hey @just curious - what kind of point are you trying to make? you're just coming off bitter and nasty.

leave his wife out of it

I am no body language expert, but his hand is FIRMLY inside his pocket and not holding her hand or free. That says to me that he is inadvertantly OR purposely TRYING to exhibit defiance. IMO he has forgiven his wife but since people will be watching and judging, wants to preserve his masculinity. As we all know men can be more fragile when faced.with infidelity. But I'm no psychologist soooo.......

Anonymous said...

@just curious. I'm sure Patraeus' wife hasn't had a decent orgasm in years. She " let herself GO" because there was no incentive to do otherwise. Women stop fucking their husbands because they've grown bored of FAKING IT! How men are the "superior" species and haven't figured this out yet is beyond me.

Women are being NICE/ NURTURING by just letting thesex.tapper off instead of complaining to men that it's just not fulfilling. We, in essence, are protecting the fragile male ego. Patraeuses wife probably spent YEARS having sex for HIS pleasure only. Something to think about.

Anonymous said...

If Patraeus wasn't a high ranking official he'd have no Broadwwell....

Anon said...

I'm sure ol' Pet stop got tired of fucking his wife because of her lack of orgasm and letting herself go so he found a younger chick who ran marathons, had a husband and kids BUT still found time to fuck a 60 year old man. Broadwell catered to a 4 star general's ego like never before. If someone's writing a bio on ya',that's an ego booster.Did you Paula interviewed Pet's wife for the book? That woman got all the intell she needed to still that woman's man.Only thing worse is your housekeeper bangin' your husband.
Funny thing is Pet's wife is standing by her man. After all,who else wants her but him.
BTW,I'm sure that wasn't the 1st time ol'Pet messed around.

Anon said...

I was being sarcastic about Pet's wife.
Funny thing, folks wanna call Paula's hubby soft for reaching out to an advice column if he did write asking for help.I wondered if he went on a shooting rampage or took a golf club to her face like Elin did Tiger, would he be more of a man? A psycho but still a man?

Anon said...

"A man is only as faithful as his options."-Chris Rock

Quaker Oats or Paula Broadwell?

Again, can you seriously blame ol' Pet?

Anna said...

FancyScreenName,

Your pocket theory is interesting. In Madrid, Robert Pattinson's hand is firmly in his pocket as Kristen leans into him and touches his arm. Does this stance mean saving face, or does it mean "I'm being a gentleman for now but when this media attention is all over, I'm outta here." Or does it mean nothing?

Anon said...

Maybe, there are women who love men in uniforms.Women like the Paulas and Jill kelleys of the world have a thing specically for officers and higher ranking because of the prestige.
The thing about Pet was that 2-3 years ago,he made it public about his disdainment for infidelity in the military because it does exactly what his did:fuck up shit.

Since it was brought up several times: The NY Times has concluded that the advice letter was not from Broadwell's husband:

Now I wonder, was it from Kelley's husband? haha.
