I love Dierks Bentley. So cute.

Jeeze, Blake just wins everything huh?

Taylor looks really good in this pic. More mature, in a good way.

LOVE Blake & Miranda. Country royalty. And so fun! I feel like I could actually hang with them.

Kelly & Vince--two people with pitch perfect voices. Great pairing.

Dierks is *awesome* live if you get the chance to catch him.

Props to Jennifer Nettles..she is due just about any day now. And yet she glammed up, strapped on the heels and went to an awards show. Good on her. I couldn't do it!

Carrie Underwood is the Jen Aniston of country music. She almost always looks great, but it's the same look over and over and over. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing interesting about it anymore either. Same hair, same makeup, same style of dresses....I adore Carrie, but I would love to see her take a risk sometime.

Kelly Clarkson being there must have pissed Carrie off. Haha! Kelly can out sing her any day and is a sweetheart to boot. Love that she and Vince got together for a song!

Carrie looks like one of those abandoned buildings that get swarmed by ivy over time.

Love Kellie Pickler's dress

Susan Powter was there?

I am a closet country music lover. Nice to see Kelly & Vince together.

Taylor, go get in a bar fight or something, your goody act is rather tiresome.

Love Jane's dress va va va voom!!!!!

Kellie looks amazing. Beautiful gown.

The hair style is due to her shaving her hair off as support for her friend who has cancer.

I love Kelly Pickler's short hair.. it was awesome of her to shave it off for her friend

I like country music too, but it seems like they have this award ceremony every few months! It could be that I'm getting absent-minded, lol.

Everyone looks so nice. Hey Carrie! Looking good girl!

It's actually Jana Kramer, I remember she had a good singing voice from One Tree Hill...(ducks head)

@LetLoveRule - I feel the same way but was chalking it up to age. I don't really consider this stuff to be "country" music, though. Pop with a twang.

@redfishblue - I'm a huge Wire/Treme fan and a big Steve Earle fan, so I have a bit of a different opinion on Miranda Lambert.

Listen to Lambert's Kerosene than listen to Earle's Feel Alright Tonight, which came out years and years before it.

PugsterMom said...

Blake has never won Entertainer of the Year before.

Lucas said...

ITA, MrWolf. Steve Earle is one of my heroes.

And as a fellow guitar player I LOVE Vince Gill. So incredibly talented. Brad Paisley, too.

Sadly, most of the "country" they put out these days is just over-produced big hook pop with some gratuitous steel guitar tossed in. It's a damned shame.

ablake said...

I just listened to both Lucas, I don't hear it. What am I missing?

(Though mad props for the Gill/Paisley love)

There's Vince, my little hottie.

Kellie has a gorgeous figure. That short hair must add 2 hours to her day. I remember watching her on American Idol - she has a sweet voice, and seems really nice.

@Lucas most of the music most genres put out today is overproduced. Love Vince Gill.

Wow Vince Gill has chunked right up in the past few years. (someone had to go there). I giggled a little when I read that Taylor Swift didn't win anything. I hope everyone in Country music are ready to move away from her mediocrity and find way more talented people to give their awards to.

@MrWolf- I *never* noticed that before! I'm an Earle fan as well but never made the connection. There is a definite similarity in the pacing of the lyrics. She is a talented songwriter, so I don't want to immediately assume she "stole" anything...but definitely close. I wonder if anyone has ever asked her about it?

I don't mind the evolution of country into a more pop sound. All music evolves and changes over time...it's really the industry that requires labels or genres. I listen to "classic" country, jazz, current pop, 80s New Wave, 90s grunge, folk, old school hiphop, New Jack Swing, rap....you name it, you'll find it on my iPod. I guess I don't really have discriminating taste. I just go with what sounds good to me...sometimes I feel a little country, sometimes I feel a little rock & roll. ;) It's all good to me...I couldn't live without music.

I was working at a big ticket country music concert in Nashville. I was on stage getting a briefing during some unknown's sound check. It was Dierks and he was totally nice about it, even though I interrupted him. :) Been a fan ever since.

Leann Rimes with her high-priced attorney are suing Kimberly & Lexi Smiley, a mother & daughter who made the mistake of answering her call in March of 2012....

ablake said...

I agree with you Mrswife29 ( and a hearty hello!) Dierks is a sweetheart.

OneGirlRevolution said...

@OverIt...

That's nice. And that pertains to this...how? If memory serves, you tweet a lot of LR hate too.

I'm VERY quickly getting sick of all of the LR bashers. It was an exciting reveal on a bad night but honestly, who cares if she posted over here? I really don't care to read long diatribes about what a horrible person LeAnn is.

OneGirlRevolution said...

And I would add that it's not that they made the mistake of answering her call; they are in the mess they are in because they violated federal law by recording and then disseminating the contents. Whatever LeAnn did, while inappropriate, immature and stupid, it was Kim Smiley who broke the law.

Agent**It said...

Nonetheless, LeAnn remains clearly disturbed.

ablake said...

Agree Lola.

Quick Dierks story, when a friend of mine was on the air (I was visiting the studio) I said (Didn't know I was on the air) "Who names their kid Dierks? I mean..really? Oh stop trying to tell me to shut up, it's not like he's listening"
And badda bing, request line happens

:This is Dierks and I AM LISTENING.

Welcome to Nashville folks. I Stuttered and asked him about his dog Jake (only thing I could think of) Which actuall turned out to be a good thing, as he was coming from a dry run for a charity event the next day to help homeless animals

I think ent posted about how Jake pooped on stage that day or something, no idea as it was years ago. Either way Dierks is good people. Great sense of humor

*actually

and he said it was a family name.

@Agent...

I just want to clarify that I don't mind comments about her that are germain to the discussion at hand. I also don't care, one way or the other, how anyone personally feels about her. I've just noticed since Monday an uptick in people coming on with the express purpose of bashing LR. Totally over it. I think this particular poster last appeared when there was a post about this lawsuit.

Anywho...just wanted to clarify.

I don't know why Amy can't whip Vince into shape...she certainly keeps herself slim and trim....I'm so jealous of her (she's two yrs older than me but looks abt 10 yrs younger).

I'm totally lost. LR was over here?! And what was the reveal? I miss out, I guess, if I don't read every last post, which I don't.

AKM said...

And I never realized the Steve Earle/Miranda Lambert thing. "Kerosene" is one of my go-to karaoke songs, so I hope she didn't swipe it. I'm not much of a Steve Earle fan, although I like his wife Alison and her sister Shelby Lynne a great deal.

One of the dresses Carrie wore during the show was a Christian Siriano design.

I used to work for the label Dierks is on and he was extremely nice every time we saw him. So was Keith Urban.

@Lola,

I understand, you're clearly disturbed by all of this.

How can Heidi Klum deal with a long haul flight wearing tight leather pants and sky high boots?
Every time I take a plane I swell like a balloon. I once made it with similar boots on (the suitcase was full) and I could not put them back on when the plane landed, I had to exit the plane with the paper slippers they give you onboard. Felt like a queen ...

L said...

@babo, if it's a long flight, people change for the duration of the flight. I live in the Middle East and our airline gives you pj/sweatsuits when you travel long haul business class. I do not even want to think about the comforts and perks of fist class or even better, private flights!

@white lily... You are confused. I'm Ironman.

AKM... A poster revealed she met LR and LR admitted she visited cdan (not clear if she said she posted here). Furious speculation issued about whom it might be, landing on either the poster, whocaresnow12 or Clearly Disturbed. Some of us pointed out that wcn12 has been here a while and that CD seemed more voracious in her defense of LR. I don't know if either one is her but the assumption is that it's CD.

AKM said...

Aaahhh, thanks, Lola! :-)

I can't stand LR.
