Cissy Houston Writes A "Tell All" Book About Whitney Houston - Skips The Lesbian Rumors

As we near the anniversary of Whitney Houston's death, her mom is releasing a book about Whitney to take advantage of the publicity that will surely be coming. It was promised as a tell all, but apparently Cissy's definition and mine are completely different. You want to hear about Whitney's drug use. Cissy basically says Whitney started them and couldn't get off them. Lesbian rumors? Cissy just says she didn't like Robyn Crawford and that she doesn't know anything about any romantic relationship. if course she also said Whitney used to go out partying and Cissy had no idea what was going on with the drugs until later. So, out of a big biography that is all the dirt.

I wonder if anyone will ever write a real biography about her. So sad.

At this point it doesnt really matter if she was a lesbian. Whitney is not hear to say yes or no.

A mom writing a bio about her famous offspring really rubs me wrong. Reads trashy and desperate to me.

I'm glad to hear she left all that stuff out - I mean, how sick would it be for a mother to profit by writing "dirt" on her dead daughter? There were still many positive things about Whitney and that's what she wants people to focus on. It seems like there are so many mothers who are willing to sell out their own children for money or fame and I think it's admirable that this book doesn't seem to do that (even though she would certainly make more money if it did).

@Susan: Yep. Ask Jennifer Aniston.

I wonder: is it denial or is it about preserving a so-called *goody-goody* image? Poor BK. If her G'ma isn't willing to face up to the truth that Whitney was a drug addict, who will be there for her? Sad, sad, sad.

What a waste of paper. I think the Houstons are just broke.

If a real biographer/reporter put out a bio on Houston, I would be all over that.

I think the Houstons are broke, too.

The book will be a good retrospective of Whitney's career - especially the very early part.

This is trashy.

However, I would definitely read a tell all about Whitney that detailed her drug use, etc. I know that's wrong, but I love tell alls.

She must need the money...

All they need to do is ask her church family. It isn't a hidden secret at her hometown church.

The more i read about this woman, cissy, the less i like her. Shut up and quit while you're ahead.

A book about your child doesn't HAVE to be a trashy tell all..It depends upon how you write it. I have a biography of Eva Cassidy and it's a lovely tribute written by her family. Granted, she didn't acheieve astounding success on par with Whitney or do drugs but...

I'll wait for the Kitty Kelley one...

@susan kinda makes you not want to be famous for your accomplishments, who knows which family member is waiting to spill your personal stories for money

I had assumed for years that Cissy had passed away because I knew that Whitney had loved her mama and I couldn't imagine that Cissy would have put up with all of that craziness. Guess I was wrong.

Everyone knows Whitney was gay, and everyone suspects her being in the closet was likely the reason for her downfall.

Everyone from Whitney's hometown (not Newark) and her private H.S. knew she was gay or I guess bisexual.

Cissy is no saint either, she is an alcoholic and at least one brother had a serious drug habit. Now, with the poor mess of a daughter, it really makes you think about an addiction gene.

I also heard that the dad may have been in denial (sexually). I always liked the fact that she wasn't outed, but I've also wondered how different her life would have been if she were free to be herself.
