Amanda Bynes Had Open Door Policy

I have heard of an open door policy at work, but really is there/ When your boss says my door is always open it really isn't. It is just some cliche that someone thought sounded really good a long time ago. Well, if you are Amanda Bynes she takes the whole open door thing literally. The NY Post interviewed some of her neighbors after they got Amanda evicted and they said that Amanda had her door open all the time. As in never closed and open to the hall. She also had red light bulbs installed in every electrical outlet. Was this her own redlight district? Would you go inside and find her posing in a window? Neighbors said that when she moved in she went and knocked on doors and introduced herself and then just became weird. Sounds like some of my dates after they watch me eat. One time at 2am, Amanda was laughing hysterically to herself as she walked to the lobby. She then stopped and turned around and went back to her apartment quietly.

This post started out really funny but then just got really sad. I hope she is getting the help she needs for her issues.

cuckoo, cuckoo. Shouldn't make jokes.

I always thought she had such promise when she was younger. Too sad.

That's so sad. She must've taken one nasty drug too many. Sometimes people have dormant issues that drugs bring out. Not many child stars make it out of the business intact.

It is really sad that enough people can complain about her actions to get her evicted, but no one seems to be able to get her help. She could probably even get arrested more easily than she can find some effective care for her apparent mental illness.

I wonder if she's doing meth on top of it all. Some meth freaks get super-ritualistic in their weirdness, and if she's on a meth-ketamine-cannabis bender it would helpfully explain some of the bizarre behavior.

I hope she gets help.

I though so too! Seems like she has some real problems.

I know someone who has mental issues and does the same things described here and she is not on drugs, so who knows? I feel bad that there is no one to help her! Shouldn't make fun of sick people - it might come back to bite you in the ass one day........

Oh boy, this is sad.

I have a young neighbor friend who clearly has mental issues and he expressed a desire to get help but his family shot him down on that. Pretty much told him to "Suck it up and be a man! *******'s don't cry!" It makes me want to cry and I'm encouraging him to stand up to his backwards family and run for help. His brother committed suicide a few months ago...I don't know what to do or say anymore.

MI is a bitch and having a family in denial sucks.

PuggleWug said...

His family sounds like a collective group of assholes. Are they waiting for their other son to commit suicide to get the message?

@melanie, i send encouragement to your neighbor friend. sounds like the family is having trouble sorting through some emotions right now.

as for amanda... i really do hope someone will try and help her, and that she will be accepting of it.

I asked the very sam question and got smirks. I got him all the info he needs to get help but he doesn't drive and his family refuses to help. They consider him to be eccentric. I'm an outsider here and that's been made crystal clear. I won't stop trying to get this guy help: I don't drive but I've offered to go with him. My b/f says it's none of my business and I should stay out of it. But I can't...not when he's still asking for help.

She's kind of reminding me of Brittany Spears before her family stepped in. Could she have the same mental issues, only exacerbated by drugs?

The stigma against mental health care in this country makes me livid. It's time to wake up! If it was heart disease or diabetes he'd be getting care.

Grief is a legitimate reason for counseling. So is maniacal laughter in the lobby. Get help and change your life. Don't waste precious time suffering when care is available. It doesn't make you less of a person to admit you have a problem. It will make you a better person!

My ex boyfriend & I had hot sex in his studio apartment and afterwards I realized the front door was open like two inches - YIKES!!! So embarassing - we probably gave an aural show to any neighbors in the hallway. :/

Pls remind me ... why is she famous? I just dont know anything that she has done but obviously she might of been famous about 5 yrs ago ... just dont know why people are talking about her .... go to rehab & get a job honey.

She's alone except for the boyfriend(s) who have sex with her and help her spend her money. Her family needs to intervene and get her some help. Stat.

I must admit - I've been known to laugh manically from time to time for no apparent reason. Sometimes I just have funny thoughts.

Wtf does Hollywood do to people?? Why are they so weird? Does it take you being crazy to put up with the casting couch or is it the casting couch that drives you cuckoo???

Can anyone answer that for me?

Mooshki said...

"why is she famous?"

A bunch of tweener shows, then 'What I Like About You' with Jenny Garth (loved that show) and a few comedic movies. (Including 'What a Girl Wants,' which I will forever adore for giving me Colin Firth playing rockstar in a pair of super-tight leather pants!!!)

Mooshki said...

Oh, and for the newbies, she was the mostly likely guess for an old blind about a tweener who got knocked up by a much older producer who convinced her to have an abortion. :(

Meanie Reese-

You sound like a wonderful person. You deserve many thanks and then some for helping your neighbor. :)

Sounds like she thought she lived in a dorm.

Meanie Reese, you are fantastic. The world would be a better place if more people stepped up.

Isn't she still basically a child? (early 20's at the oldest??) I know in the real world we cut younger people slack but celebrities in their teens get such harsh criticism. It sounds like this girl wasn't parented through her fame and needs help.

Frufra said...

Reese - been there, done that. Luckily, I had my MIL who has her own struggles with MI, and she swooped in to my rescue.

Is there any way law enforcement could get involved? I know that sounds cruel, but if your neighbor is desperate for help, these days, police are the de facto mental health intake system. Good luck, kind lady. Thinking about you and your neighbor.

Drugs. Ambien will do this if you already have a tolerance to opiates/benzos. You black out but have the best time doing the most insane looking things. Add some alky-hol and reefer, then some meth to stay awake & any drug addled sort will look cookoo-for-CocoaPuffs crazy. Mimics MI but is totally drug-induced.

jaariel, that's what I have been reading about. Very interesting subject.

Meanie Reese awesome that you care so much about trying to get help for your neighbor. Too bad his family doesn't share your concern.

O/t is your avie Nellie Olsen?

I really hope she gets the help she needs.

I'm thinking pschizophrenia. The poor girl, what must she do left to her own devices with all her money, in her own place, with no one around? She was revealed for a blind re: a starlet who'd walk into a club, walk up to a stranger with a girlfriend and say, you me now my place lets go, and the guy would follow her out.
