Britney Spears Headed To Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas will finally be known for something other than having the name of a truly atrocious restaurant chain and a production that once starred Holly Madison and now has Coco. Britney Spears is getting close to signing a deal to perform at the hotel for probably the better part of her life. I wonder if she will get to live in a house in Vegas or if her minders will force her to live inside the hotel and attach some kind of monitor to her which will shock her if she tries to leave. Britney is not tall and I bet she can move like lightning. You let her loose among all the people they have in a casino she can probably make a run for it. I'm kind of sad about all of this. I always feel like Britney never really enjoys going out and performing but at least she got to get out of the house and travel to different cities in the world even if they did not let her leave the hotel. Now though, someone will just wind her up five days a week so they can make some money off her. Britney has enough money to last forever and her kids and her grandkids. Do you think she even knows what is going on or that she is signing up for this?

It supposedly a rather short gig so the "better part of her life" thing is a little overdramatic. As are most of the things you post.

Oh God. Is that a reveal?

Poor Britney. Performing and being famous is all she knows, so maybe this will work out?
If not, I give it a year before the sh*t hits the fan and she loses it. I hope that's not the case.

She was my favorite growing up and Baby One More Time was the first CD I bought with my own money.

That said, I really hope she is able to retire one day and learn to live a normal life.

Ha! I had that picture in my college dorm room. :-)

I see people online defending her dad and how great it was that he took charge, but frankly, I think she's a prisoner and if he really gave a sh*t about her, he'd take her back to Louisiana with the boys and let her live out her days in peace and quiet. Unfortunately, she's the cash cow of her family and probably an extended family, not to mention a lot of leeches in the industry. They're going to work her to death. This makes me furious.

She'll find a way to do her own thing. She's got the conservatorship because she needs it, not just so that the evil people of the world can make money off of poor Britney. There's alot worse things that could happen to her. Forced to work four hours a day and paid billions, living in a gold plated penthouse? Slavery! She can little by little, get her life back, prove her sanity and be her own woman, if she's capable of it. She couldn't be saying no to all of this, she's got to be agreeing and nodding.

Of what?

Everything you said. She's a kind soul you can tell. I wish she could just live with her boys in peace somewhere

I'm with MadLyb on this one. Brit has such sad, sad eyes. If you're in a gilded cage, you should just be grateful? No. I'm sorry for anyone who is being taken advantage of. I'm po' as poor can be and I'm not one bit envious of Britney.

I think the problem with her bring in a conservatorship is that if she's incapable of running her own life ( taking meds not being taken advantage of by Sam Lufti types) then how can u sign contracts to work? It's like saying you've had a complete breakdown that you haven't recovered from but yes I can get everyday & go to work - no you can't!

Madlyb ITA. I think this is a horrible idea that will only end badly for Brit.

What she needs is stability and consistency, and I don't mean working the same show with the same routine at the same time every night. Obviously I don't know Britney, but when I had my breakdown moving back home and falling back into a routine was what helped me find myself again and find my balance. She's been working since she was a child, give her a break from being your money machine Papa Spears.

I hope that she gets assigned 3 or 4 really good "friends" that she can hang out with, shop with and will watch her without the feeling of being trapped with one person *cough*Jason*cough*. I know taht is impossible because everyone wants her for her money or what she can do for them, but it would make her life much easier and she'd be happier.

Does anyone believe the theories about the Monarch brainwashing/torture and illuminati and Britney, Beyonce, Jay Z, etc.? My hubby thinks it's BS - I can't dismiss it that easily...

smash said...

Anyone want to go to Vegas to see this?! Me!!! :)

Kloie said...

Just because she needs a conservatorship doesn't mean the conservator is doing what's best for her.

AuntJess said...

Where are her mother and sister? Daddy's in charge but is mama oblivious? This is the last thing this girl needs.

In a weird way, I think she will like Las Vegas. It's all sorts of tacky and filled with misfits, I think she'll feel at home there. Of course, it's also soulless and a place where vulnerable people are used and abused. Conflicted.

Xander Simon Dyle said...

I actually think that this is a perfect idea and could be exactly what she needs. I think that most of you must not really be that familiar with actual Vegas and the surrounding areas. She easily could have a nice peaceful beautiful house on the lake or in the mountains. Tons of space and calm to raise her boys in a nice normal routine away from what you all think of as Vegas. Then limo in from home, walk upstairs, do her show for a couple hours, then return home. It's very easy to have a very normal quiet life there and have nothing to do with the Strip.
It is just like having a gig on Broadway. Very enjoyable.and very easy to have a nice normalroutine and raise kids. My friend raised two very awesome kids being in a few of those Broadway type Vegas shows for over fifteen years. It is a really nice life if you can do it.

she'll probably only last a year and then be sick if it. hell she'll probably be sick of it after 3 months

timebob said...

If her parents hadn't pushed her towards an entertainment career so young. She would be a cashier at the piggly wiggly and living in a trailer.

I think she will be just fine in Vegas. K-Fat will bet paid to move to Vegas and baby sit his own kids. Bit Bit will have an easy schedule and all the Starbucks she wants. Everybody wins.

Life is pretty good for Britney, I don't feel sorry for her at all.

OneGirlRevolution said...

Yeah, I think this is good for her too. Celine Dion has been in Vegas for so long because she enjoys the normalcy it affords her. She has a "normal" life and then goes to work for a few hours 4 days a week. Afterwards she goes home, sleeps in her own bed and wakes up to her kids and husband.

I suspect that she could get KFed to relocate pretty easily (I think he has primary custody of the boys.) And you know, KFed might be a douche, but it seems all along, he has been very concerned that she maintain ties with her boys and has tried to support her in that.

I'm very torn on this, Brit is working so hard and looks so sad, however regular routines are a common nursing intervention for most mental health care plans. I still think Jason was her nurse.

I can see a decline in her appearance which is a huge red flag for me for deteriorating mental state, I would be intervening and putting plans in place if she was my patient so it's possible that is exactly what is happening. None of my patients would have lifestyles like this, entertainment industry etc so I haven't seen evidence that it's a bad move.

Yes I'm torn

Hazeldazel said...

I think this will be good for her. Being bored is the worst thing you want someone with depression and/or bipolar to be. Give her a schedule and something to do. Heck this is something she supposedly likes and it's only a few hours a day and she doesn't have a grueling travel schedule. She doesn't have to be witty on TV, just do her little dance and song routine and that's it.

Let's face it, she's gotta do something. She can't just sit around and drool into a Starbuck's cup for the next 50 years.

timebob said...

also let's face it, it's not like she is going to be really singing. The hardest thing she will have to do is remember the dance moves.

I wish she had a sitcom

Cornbread said...

@green eyed lawyer, yes, I question the whole monarch/MK Ultra/Illuminati stuff as well. I'm not sure how much (if any) I believe, and it's easy to get caught up in a conspiracy theory, but once I read more about the CIA testing, it seems plausible.

Vigilante Citizen is a good site for reading more about it. I spent an unhealthy amount of time on there one Saturday, and finally had to close the laptop. It was getting a bit too real for me.

Cornbread said...

*Vigilant Citizens...not vigilante. :)

audrey said...

I see it as on colossal mistake. She hasn't danced well in years, and doesn't sing live. The few words she utters each night when they turn her microphone on are usually moronic and nonsensical. People are going to be paying a small fortune to see a performing train wreck crash and burn night after night.

JoElla said...

@Cornbread and Greeneyed Lawyer, The other day I was farting around on youtube watching videos from a few subscribed channels (beauty videos) and then BAM! one about the illuminati and the Monarch project.

*cue creepy music*

I have never ever done a search for those subjects on youtube, I prefer research other web sites.

I just found it very strange, and have never had that video pop up on my feed. It kinda freaked me out a bit.

On topic..

I hope this works out well for her, I think the routine would be great for her.

Nellie said...

I would honestly love to do this for her. I don't give a poop that she has money. I would just like to be there for her. And yes, I know that sounds nutty. :)

KellyLynn said...

As long as they give her enough time to relax and let her take trips every now and then, it shouldn't be a problem. I am really hoping for the best.

AuntJess said...

Nellie it doesn't strange to me. Just everyday people wanting to help others ;)

Meanie Rhysie said...

@Nellie: I'm with you on that, so I must be strange, too? =)

It dosent, i think she needs a good friend.
But IDK what to think i hate to see her dead eyes and fake smile, but i think its better than her driving around the valley with a wig and no underwear . :(

Jazzy said...

My thoughts exactly, routine and stability will be good for her and the boys. Plus, Britney always said she loves Vegas. I'm sure she will do club appearances where she'll be able to have some fun.

parissucksliterally said...

When this picture was taken, she had my absolute ideal abs. I actually had the discipline (and being early 30') to get mine like hers! Not anymore though.....and neither are hers :( . Aging, gotta love it. lol

Anotheramy said...

People with Britneys issues wind up walking the streets mumbling to themselves. The dead look is from the drugs that keep her from sliding back into the pink wig wearing manic depressive who went for coffee 12 times a day and locked herself in the bathroom with the kids. Are you all forgetting what it was like a few years ago when Britney was allowed to make her own decisions?

Unknown said...

I live in Vegas and am looking forward to seeing her perform. I told my husband about her residency here and told him he better go with me...lol...he's like "uhhh...maybe you should take a friend instead." :-(

lovelylunacy said...

I think she likes performing. Shes stated how much she lvoes to dance. In the past shes tried hard to get out of tours, so maybe this will be better. I think she will have minders the entire time she's in a casino though. No ones going to let her loose in there!

Agent**It said...

Cornbread, to me Brit looks like a victim of mind control. OT: When is baby due?

Anonymous said...

No but neither does it mean they arent doing wrong. It is very, very rare to have a conservatorship for life. Very rare. So if they are saying she is that mentally incapable do you really think she's able to do a gruelling show every night for how long?
And really look at her performances, it's britbot, going through the motions, no joy.
This is pure money making

Anonymous said...

I agree about routine but not this one.
I mean we all know that shaving her hair was because she was fed up with the extentions, the falseness, being made to look like someone she isn't.
How about letting her teach dancing to kids everyday. I think that's the routine she needs. But no money in that

greenmountaingal said...

I think it's interesting and explains a lot...I'm not sure if I totally believe it, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true.

greenmountaingal said...

I'm going to go against the grain here...

Yes, Britney is a troubled young woman and yes, she does need help. However, she has a better life than many people with mental health issues. She is rich beyond belief, she has people managing her and she gets work left and right. She's not destitute. She's not on government assistance. She's not homeless. She's not a social pariah. She's doing good for someone with essentially no talent and no smarts. I really don't feel sorry for her because she doesn't have it that bad.

Let the egging begin...

Eeekalicious said...

I just don't agree with people who say Britney is untalented. She doesn't have a strong voice, but it is sweet, emotive and distinctive.

audrey said...

@Tuxedo...how would anyone know that? She is autotuned to death on her albums and doesn't sing live...and the few times she has she was horribly off key. I think she gets a pass from a lot of people because she had a very public breakdown and the paps were relentless in their pursuit of her while it was going on. Britney may have had a lot of talent when she was young, but drinking, drugs and smoking--and now what ever meds she is on to control her mental issues have pretty much taken any of that away. She was at best a mediocre singer with an amazing PR team who know their job making her all flash and little substance.

timebob said...

What Britney has is the 'it factor' that thing that people are drawn to and are fascinated by. It has nothing to do with talent or looks at this point. People will follow her to the ends of the earth.

You can't name many popstars from 1999 that are still as big as Britney is today.

She is manufactured, but everybody knows it and still buys the tickets and downloads her CDs.

Cornbread said...

Agent, we're due April 16th. :)

Cornbread said...

I'm with you, Tuxedo...Brit has a fan base that just loves her unconditionally. Maybe her voice isn't great, but she can (could?) dance her tail off. Lots of entertainers with less than stellar voices, but gifted with dance or instruments.

She's like the Joe Walsh of pop music.

maybe the theory is that work will get her doing something, and being focused is a positive(?)

God Brit Brit used to be so beautiful...and hot. I wish she could get back to her glory days again.

BrainyAngel said...

This could have been a good opportunity for Brit if an upscale place or someplace w/ a good rep hired her...but Planet Hollywood is The Most Trasy major hotel on the strip. It's known for it's low-rent vibe. It's just trashy. So, she's going to be lumped into the Holly Madison/Coco group of slutty no-talents. If she was at Bellagio or MGM, at least her surroundings would be upscale. This shows they are acknowledging she is not same talent level as Celine, Shania, Elton, etc. and booked her accordingly. The people who will go see her are trashy and/or young...and them's are PH's people! The more upscale venues obviously knew this and didn't want her. Kinda sad

Planet Hollywood is not where Britters belongs.
