What a turd. They should cut off his arms.
Does South Africa have the death penalty? Because if this doesn't qualify, nothing does.
Another situation when it would be excellent to have a link. I looked at the version on yahoo this morning, which was updated about 2 hours ago, no mention of any of this. I would love to see the source of this and read the article itself.
*version of the latest on this story, if that wasn't clear
Really, really sad. There must have been clues that he was like this. Such a beautiful girl. Such a shame she met him.
This detail made my stomach lurch. What an absolute piece of garbage.
If you just google his name, plenty of links show up with stories that have these new facts included. I heard about this on my local news this morning. Its very sad.
@Empress Blade Runner Article
Here, yahoo may not be the most reliable source of information in the world. Just saying. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/17/oscar-pistorius-cricket-bat
Thanks, @ VIP
Dan Abrams was on GMA this morning. Here's a link:
wait! it's again some theories! nothing is confirmed by the police! it seems also that he tried to revive Reeva after to shoot her
Daily mail article on what may be happened
Thanks for the link. Do they really think the intruder story is going to fly?
It sounds from the article like every person interviewed has a different version of events, he called his dad at 20 past, he came then the paramedics, he called his friend at 50 past, he came but there was no police, police and paramedics arrived at the same time, when polic got there paramedics were trying I resuscitate her, he shot her 4 times in the head and body through a door (that's a sticking point for me, physically doesn't make any sense, you get shot in the head once you're likely not going to remain standing). I think these details are largely gossip and conjecture and it will be very interesting to see how it all plays out once the police are allowed to speak. On the other hand, I know he comes from a wealthy family, how's the bribery situation in S.A.? From what I heard of goings-on during the World Cup that area is a mess, will be interesting to see how that aspect goes as well
That is hideous. Her story makes me so sad.
There is definitely conflicting info being leaked in this case.
You can tell Enty wrote these last night because the news is so outdated. Look at the time stamps on his stories — spaced 15 minutes apart.
Like they usually are on reveal day.
DA- *Like they usually are EVERY SINGLE DAY, you mean.
@DA- Honey you aren't revealing a big secret.
Thanks for stating the obvious.
What a sick shit….
I'm sick of these men only getting a few months jail time for beating women. Murdering a woman will probably get him a few years. I think we are way past due on some capital punishment sentences for killing women and children. This just can't continue and the message needs to be loud and clear in every country. This is not acceptable behavior and we will put down the scumbags that pollute our societies. Same goes for child abusers and rapists. I've had it with these fools.
Oh and Enty, I only opened that twitter account for you to help you get your 20,000 followers that would equal a big reveal. I swore I'd never tweet and caved just for you. Follow me @zeenoxgoddess.
There's conflicting information over how her head injury happened, and one can't assert that he beat her with the cricket bat. Another theory has him chasing her after the initial shot; she fled into the bathroom, tripped and hit her head on the toilet, causing the skull injury and leaving her helpless to the final three shots.
In other words, the police have not established (or shared publicly) exactly what happened yet aside from the charge of premeditated murder. That's really all we know. How it unfolded will be revealed by police and prosecutors in time.
For a site ostensibly run by an attorney, the legal nuances in posts here are utter shit. While many readers will seek out other sites for clarification, others won't, so please, an attempt at accuracy please.
The problem with that is the accidentally convicted. I knew a girl who said her step brother raped her so she could live with her mom rather than her dad. After the boy was arrested, news all over the place, her step mom said under no circumstances would she ever be allowed back in their home the girl recanted because she got what she wanted. However te Jared loughners the like, who without a doubt murdered or raped, fry those bits of scum. No sense wasting resources.
My previous statement was to @zee
this is why I'm getting out, someone that can hit a woman is evil and always will be, there will never be any changing, it's in their heart and soul.
@empress, your right about those innocently convicted. That's why I struggle with capital punishment too sometimes. I still think the punishments are too lax on crimes against women and children.
You people are really amazing. You take everything you hear about celebrities as if it were the truth. You even get mad if someone questions those facts or has a differing opinion. For example you're quick to call Bradley Cooper and abuser and gay. I've yet to see evidence that he's either one of these. However, you want proof that Oscar Pistorius is an abuser? The police said, straight out the gate, they have been to his place 4 times for domestic disturbance. They didn't try to hide it so obviously they're not worried about his family or their money. Plus Reeva had been speaking out about domestic abuse. Now she's dead. Some abusers are great at hiding their abuse. They don't wear signs that say "I'm an abuser". Actually, they can be quite charming.
@zee: children, yes. Women: it really depends. I don't know that the punishment should be worse for the perpetrator just because the victim is a woman. I have seen women do horribly vile things and then hide away from recourse "because I'm a woman" so they provoke and attack while being secure in the idea that they won't have to feel the repercussions due to their genital configuration. If women truly want equality then punishment for crimes against them should really be the same. Although I presume you don't mean your typical bar fight so much as you mean systematic poor treatment by certain individuals or cultures. I just don't like mouthy b*tches that think they can be rude and obnoxious whenever and to whomever.
@flirtychick: no one was defending him. There was a discussion about many conflicting stories. None of which are painting him in a favorable light or even remotely excusing what he obviously did.
@zee I have known women who are abusers too. I think anyone who abuses another person deserves a stiff jail sentence.
This is sickening. It really makes me wonder if he had been taking steroids. To commit that level of violence, especially to someone you are involved with, is just so uncharacteristic. It sounds like 'roid rage' to me, or some sort of blackout. It's no excuse, though, and likely no defense either.
I hope they did a toxicology test on him when they arrested him. I would be really interested to know what would show up. What a sad irony that she was involved with a Domestic Violence project.
I can't stop thinking about the initial reports saying "a Valentine's Day surprise gone terribly wrong", though. It will be really interesting to see what comes out in the trial.
Apparently Reeva Steenkamp's last boyfriend was abusive too. I don't understand women who movie from one bully to the next. What do they see in them?
Lol Seaward. Every damn day if you pay attention. Enty has mentioned a few times that it is easier to write the blog now because he can write the articles and set them to post at a specific time.
Glad for you Anna. Also happy that you have made up your mind and don't seem to have wavered in your decision.
There are so many conflicting stories and gossip and nothing offiy released yet , I'm going to withhold judgement til we know more facts. Look at the Rebecca Zahau/ Jonah Shacknai case in San Diego
@g.strathmore, sometimes it's just "their normal." :/ I have a friend who was abused by her dad and has dated, I swear, every jerk on the planet. It's sad.
Anna, good on you for getting out! Best wishes today!
Wow. Just wow. Not saying what he allegedly did is right but that's a pretty harsh punishment
I did read 2 statements from his ex gf's that claim he is a very different person than his public persona but that is hearsay. RIP.
As well as Amanda Knox
The thing is he did.or is accused of doing something totally deplorable yet he us nowhere near get trashed as bad as Chris Brown does daily and his father who is defending him isn't getting an iota of the ugliness spewed at anyone associated with Chris, i.e. Adele, Rihanna.
I have an uneasy feeling about this case. His family comes from big money. I think they will do everything they can to buy their way out of this mess or minimize his jail time as much as possible.
Digal, this just happened. I loathe Chris Brown. With that being said, this POS deserves to rot in prison. Brown does not.
I do believe in rehabilitation. Brown seems to physically assault first, it is his go to. I truly think if he let go of his ego, got a therapist, and got to the root of why he does what he does, he could make strides in becoming a better person. It is such a waste to see the things Brown does, he is young, and extremely talented. I don't see it in the near future, but I do hope he gets the help he needs.
In this case, we see a young and talented man as well. It seems he has a history with this sort of thing. He is now in the worst case scenario, and has only himself to blame. As much as I snark on Brown, I would hate to see him down this path.
This reminds of when Mini-me beat his girlfriend.I was wondering how do you let a midget beat your ass???
This is one seriously sick dude.
@Puggle, digal trolls threads to insert how everyone who does something crappy is still treated better than Chris Poorme Brown. He might look into a new publicity agency.
@ Anna Nonymous, I hope you are getting the help and support you need. Good luck to you.
@Susan I read somewhere that they no longer have the death penalty
What is known for sure so far:
*There was no evidence of forced entry at the home.*There were indications Reeva Steenkamp intended to stay the night at the house. She had an overnight bag and her iPad.*There was evidence of heavy drinking. *Reeva was shot four times through the bathroom door.*Detectives are working to determine whether a bloodied cricket bat found on the scene was used to attack Steenkamp, or if she used it in self-defense, or if Pistorius used the bat to break down the bathroom door.*Steroid drugs were found at Pistorius’s home. Police have ordered his blood to be tested.
@Anna, sending many good thoughts your way. Your comment reminded me of (of all things) a movie from years ago with Jessica Lange as Patsy Cline. There's a scene where Patsy tells her mother that her husband only hit her "the one time," and her mother replies, "If he hits you one time, there will always be a next time." I took that advice to heart at a young age. If he hits you, there is no court of appeal. He's out.
I can't see any punishment being too harsh for a man who beat a woman and killed her.
Throw the book at him if he is guilty. At least one of his ex-girlfriends has come out & said he was abusive towards her. Pattern of behaviour here.FSP, I looked at your new avatar, WTF!
I had read that she was in the bathroom. Maybe she'd locked herself in there?
@ zee – I could be wrong about twitter but I think you can just open a twitter account, follow Enty and then not do a damned thing. Your work will be done. You won't have to tweet or be followed if you don't want to mess with it.
Nope, we don't have the death penalty any more. And some of his exes have come forward about alleged violent behaviour. One, however, who was with him for six years or so, says she never felt threatened in all her time with him.Hi guys, looong-time lurker…
Hi Tuxedo Cat, tests were indeed done after the shooting.
@Anna: Thoughts are with you, and glad you are reading articles like this one. Don't back down. I guarantee your abuser will throw how stupid and worthless you were to believe he'd change next time he gets pissed off:""I got flowers today. It wasn't my birthday or any other special day.We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me.I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. It wasn't our anniversary or any special day.Last night he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like a nightmare. I couldn't believe it was real. I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over.I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers today, and it wasn't Mother's Day or any other special day.
Last night he beat me up again, and it was much worse than all the other times. If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of my kids? What about money? I'm afraid of him and scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry. Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. Today was a very special day.It was the day of my funeral.Last night he finally killed me. He beat me to death. If only I had gathered the courage and strength to leave him.I would not have gotten flowers today."-Anonymous
Thanks for posting that, I didn't know if they had or not, or if it is routine. I suppose toxicology tests are routine in violent crimes (hopefully).
Zee, you are spot on. This type of violence, perpetrated by more than 90 percent male perps against women (links, stats below), is a HATE CRIME. It is a sex-based hate crime against women because they are female. That's what it is, truly. The global patriarchy that runs EVERYTHING (governments, police, courts, military industrial complex, etc, etc.) is why men don't get punished NEARLY as severely as they should be.
Saying "well some women abuse men, too" is a massive derail. Those cases are in the minority, they are statistical outliers.
Read 'em and weep. For real. I weep for the billions of women raped, abused and murdered by men every day.
@prolixe, that's a sad normal. Don't they see their friends with nice men in nice relationships and think, "Wouldn't it be nice to do that instead of fighting and being insulted all the time?"
@doctressjulia, you have an irrational hatred for the male gender.
@phoenix: she s still right about her statistics however. A lot more women are abused by men than the opposite, it s not 50/50
Welcome Modesty. Lovely having a South African voice here. Nice to have your input.
@doctressjulia: thank u for the statistical data. And yes there are less documented cases of women abusing men than vice versa. However I would like to posit that there are more cases of men being abused not being documented due to men being embarrassed to admit actually happening. True and sadly so, it skews with more men abusing women but more women abusing men cases occur that siimply do not show in comparison…Neither should ever be tolerated.
We can all argue over the details but the fact remains a woman is dead and he pulled the trigger admittedly so.
"I weep for the billions of women raped, abused and murdered by men every day"
I've told you a million times don't exaggerate. Actually it just weakens what should be a compelling argument.
Hi Modesty – fellow SOuth African here:) I hate how little we hear about her and how much support he's getting from his fans!
South Africa – my country- is actually less of a mess than the US. Better democracy. Just as e.g. Gay marriage issue is SO 15 years ago!
Maybe Oscar and Mindy McCready should've hooked up?
doctressjulia -agreed. Especially in countries where the laws don't protect women: those are the ones I especially weep for. At least women in the democratic countries have support systems there if they want to use them, and a legal system that "should" seek justice and protect them. Many in other countries don't stand a chance.
Reeva had also been scheduled to speak at a domestic violence event the day after she was killed.
YOU WOULD'VE THOUGHT SHE SAW THIS COMING.
@Modesty and @Short le chic … I'm also here in SA, nice to see other Saffricans here xx
I live in Pretoria, South Africa. As much as I love Enty, whomever wrote this basically scanned the front pages of a few newspapers reporting on speculation. I don't know what happened that night but as someone who's then-husband tried tto kill her, I can assure you that I am NOT defending Oscar Pistorius. But I do want the TRUTH to come out and overseas blogs and newspapers reporting speculation and rumour is bad journalism and irresponsible. The case has not even begun. All we know for sure is that she was shot and killed. Do I think something bad, like domestic violence went down? Actually, i do. But until it is proven, please don't believe or even read lies like this Enty post.
Sorry about the last line. It is not lies. Just speculation. This is just a very emotional subject to me.
@Jaxxxy, I suppose it's because Enty's schtick is gossip, but he/they typically frame a story in the worst way possible and don't hesitate to present wild speculation as fact. And for whatever reason, he/they are especially prone to doing that when the topic involves any sort of abuse (draw your own conclusions about that).
You have to read the fine print at the bottom of each regular web page though to realize that grains of salt are an important component of the CDAN diet:
"Crazy Days and Nights is a gossip site. The site publishes rumors, conjecture, and fiction. In addition to accurately reported information, certain situations, characters and events portrayed in the Blog are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Information on this site may contain errors or inaccuracies; the Blog’s proprietor does not make warranty as to the correctness or reliability of the site's content."
Oh, geez! That made me laugh out loud!
OK, I could barely tear myself away from the news coverage today and unless forensics proves otherwise, I believe Oscar (because I desperately want to, in my heart of hearts). In terms of not calling the paramedics right away – nobody knows what they would do in such a panicky situation. When my daughter stopped breathing at home, I was in such a state I didn't know whether to call for help or start CPR (which, in spite of training, I completely forgot how to perform correctly). Oh, and we don't have an easy 911 number to remember – I called 10111, they said they couldn't help, gave me another number, they said to call another number for a private ambulance … fucking horrible.
