The only actress I recall that was having issues with her health & her job is Jennifer Esposito & "Blue Bloods."
Hmmm...Jennifer Esposito got fired from Blue Bloods (was that the show?) for something medical, and Chenoweth got conked on the head while she was filming a guest spot on a show...

I can see this being either Jennifer Esposito or Kristen Chenowith. Both were really loud. Is Esposito B- list, though? I'd think she was C or D. I can also see Chenowith having substance problems. She seems to be looney.
'Brassy' reminds me of both Broadway, and Chenoweth's hair color, sometimes.

Kristen had a studio light fall on her head. She was hardly at fault. Bounced right back and kept on working she didn't blame the show or network. It was a windy day and it was just an accident.
Jennifer Esposito went on a PR campaign against CBS/Blue Bloods for firing her becuase she asked for a reduced work schedule due to her Celiac Disease.
CBS claimed it was a ploy to break her contract and get a raise and let her go.
They played hard ball with the cast of CSI who tried to call in sick Jorja Fox and George Estes, both got in line and went right back to work with their existing contracts.
Funny, haven't heard a peep out of Jennifer about it her dismissal for a long time.

Think it's Jennifer also but unless they have some magic bullet that shoots through HIPPA rules they cannot look into her medical history. They can request a drug test but they cannot make her take one. And neither can they deny her any compensation if it turns up positive. She needs a better lawyer.

Except for the mostly television part, I read this as Kristin Chenowith all the way. Although her Broadway days are quite a long time ago so perhaps it fits. She's been all television since the West Wing.
I think this is Jennifer Esposito too, but wouldn't CBS had given her a drug test and checkup before hiring her in the first place?
If studios made getting a drug test a condition of getting a role (exept where past history means no insurance) no one would get hired.

The people who want to believe B.Coop is gay will tell you she caught him in bed with a guy, but the more plausible explanation that has sort of been confirmed by things he's said (and Enty hinted at it, too), is that he gets nasty mean when he's drunk and he beat her, so she left. To give him credit, he said he stopped drinking when he realized how bad he was, and it seems like that's true.
