Coke & Heroin Mixed With New Success Killed Chris Kelly

Chris Kelly has had a long struggle with drug abuse. For almost his entire career he has been in and out of rehab and tried to overcome his addictions. He had come a long way and was sober more often than he was using and had been clean for a fairly long stretch before there was a Kriss Kross reunion concert. With that concert came a lot of money being tossed around and a lot of free drugs and the next thing you know, Chris Kelly was back to his old ways. His mom said that she had been trying to help and trying to keep a close eye on Chris and that she saw him the night he overdosed and thought he would be ok judging from her past experience. He wasn't and he died. She is probably feeling overwhelming guilt. She shouldn't. She tried.

I don't know why it still surprises me how fame chews so many people up and spits them out. And that is why when I go to the mall and get approached by modeling agencies for my kids they get the stink eye!

Sad stuff. You can't be around club people or the party scene if you have a drug addiction problem. You pick up right where you left off, at whatever level of the progression of the disease. I hate this story.

I agree, it wasn't her responsibility to follow him around and make sure he lived. I get it, and it's a mother's instinct, but he was a grown man. I agree that this is incredibly sad, reminds me that even if Lindsay or Tara clean up, they're still unlikely to live as long as if they'd never done all those years of abuse to their bodies. It's crazy how alot of times when an addict is really tryin to get clean, then they dabble a little bit and overdose. Speed balling is very dangerous they say, for the heart I believe.

There have been rumors for many years that both Chris Stokes and Jermaine Dupree both molested the members of Chris Cross, which explains why one feel deep into drugs and the othr went into hiding once thier career ended.

The need to numb the pain of being violated by older industry men has been the back story for many former child stars over the years.

MsPinkKitty No one here that has worked in/around Jermaine or either Chris really believes that, I know I dont. Atlanta is a hard place to be when your fame winds down. We are losing people constantly now. RIP, Chris.
