Guilty of second-degree murder. I'm not sure it was premeditated.

omg, absolutely guilty, and creepy as hell too. I don't believe in the death penalty, but think she belongs behind bars for life without the possibility of parole.

Definitely guilty

Holy crap I can't believe I've never heard of this trial until now. Unfortunately, whether she's guilty or not or whether it was self defense or not, I think she'll be found guilty. The evidence and her different stories do not bode well for her. I just don't understand how girls think they can lie out of something like this and can't get caught/found out by the police! (except Casey Anthony)

She took his life; she should have to lose hers.

Part of me believes at least some of her abuse claims are real. But I can't get past the overkill of the murder. Second degree.

She is a psychotic freak! She gives a bad name to regular, run-of-the-mill stalkers.

We're not ALL going to slit your throat then shoot you, Sometimes we just want to masterbate outside your window a little.

She is disgusting and disturbed and guilty!

after OJ and Casey, I just don't try to predict. I think she's guilty and should get life, but who knows what the jury will do.

Never heard about this until right now. Don't know enough about it. I'll leave it to the jury.

Guilty, certainly premeditated beyond a reasonable doubt, remove her from society forever.

She's probably going to be found guilty, but it's difficult to root against anyone who Nancy Grace hates.

Seriously.

If Nancy Grace starts bitching about Hitler, my first reaction would be to think about giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Guilty as hell, totally premeditated.

Seachica said...

Even if the abuse claims are true (which I'm doubtful of), it could still be premeditated murder. I think she was obsessed with Travis. He was never going to marry her, though - she wasn't Molly Mormon enough to fit his professional image. She knew it, and was enraged because he was HERS AND HERS ONLY. She didn't kill him immediately because she wanted to mark her turf one last time by having sex with him.

There will be books written about this psychopath.

Merlin, now I have the song stuck in my head.

Guilty!

There's not one scintilla of evidence that he abused her in any way, shape or form. It was clearly premeditated, First Degree Murder -- she came there with a gun, she prefilled gasoline cans so she wouldn't leave a paper trail and she reversed her license plates so they wouldn't be easy to read. Guilty as hell, but I think she's obviously mentally impaired and needs to go to a psychiatric hospital for the rest of her natural life. I don't believe in the death penalty, but this bitch has to be off the streets.

GUILTY AS HELL and a psycho to boot - fry her

Guilty - M1. If this had been a guy, he would have already been convicted.

Kim said...

She obviously killed him, I don't think that's up for debate. She was either scared of him, or pissed off-no one stabs anyone 27 times just to kill them, after shooting them and slitting their throat. That's *personal*. She also doesn't do anything to get rid of evidence really. Putting a knife in the dishwasher and throwing the gun out a car window? That's a gesture, not an act.

I think she's psych. Whether she was psych before or she acquired burning bed syndrome because he-or someone-abused her, I dunno. He either knew there was something wrong with her, or was a total douchebag, and neither one of those is good. If you know there is something wrong with someone (and you say as much, calling her a stalker to your friends) but you still give them access to you..

She will probably get manslaughter.

I hadn't heard anything about this trial until a few weeks ago when a friend told me all about it during a road trip to the west coast. She had been following it since it started and was kind of obsessed with it. When we got to our hotel, we immediately had to find the right channel so we could continue to watch it over the course of the weekend. I became kind of obsessed with it too.

And I believe she is guilty. The fact that she came up with the story of him being abusive and killing him in self defense half way into the trial after she got a new lawyer...plus, I can see a single gunshot wound being self defense, but she stabbed him multiple times, slit his throat, shot him, then took some pictures, then cleaned him up. Self defense? Really? Not only do I think she is guilty, I think she is a raging sociopath who needs to be locked up for the rest of her life. I don't believe in the death penalty either.

Guilty as hell. And crazy. Like blade boy, but he'll prob walk.

MadLyb said...

Not sure if she's guilty or not - probably, but I haven't seen all the evidence the jury has. Seems more than a bit cray, though. She reminds me of that lady who killed Selena.

Silly Girl said...

Guilty. I remember this story from a 20/20 or something like that. I thought it was over and done with, though. She's trying to trash his character, which we all know is just a cover for her being guilty as shit. I'm not even going to say crazy, because that just turns into an excuse. GUILTY.

msgirl said...

Black as sin. Please - the stabbing 27 times after the gun and neck? I don't even think he was abusive. But never mind that, I haven't seen all the evidence but what I have seen, plus with her story going all over the place, she's an absolute monster.

Brooke said...

Definitely guilty. She's nuts.

Guilty as Hell. "Battered" women don't drive hundreds of miles to see their batterer, while carrying 3 gas cans so they won't leave a credit card record. "Battered" women don't rent a car, bring a gun, change their hair color, and turn their license plate upside down.
She didn't live with him, wasn't married to him, had no children with him, they weren't even seeing each other anymore. This wasn't a woman tied to a batterer and unable to break free. She's just a sociopathic bitch who couldn't have what she wanted, so she destroyed him.
Those 9 stab wounds to the back are going to be her undoing.

Guilty and she planned everything, right down to the fame

The account of how she changed when the police left her alone in the interview room and she didn't know there were cameras was sooooo chilling and creepy, should seriously be in a movie. She started laughing, said to herself "Jodi you should have at least put on some makeup", did a handstand, etc. Brrrr.

my bff justschooled me today on all her crap. totally premeditated guilty.

Guilty, guilty, guilty. This happened on the street behind my house, right across the street from one of my best friend's homes. It was bizarre to see the crime scene photos, as Travis' house had the same floor plan as most of my friends in the 'hood. It was like seeing places I felt super comfortable in covered in blood. Creepy as f in our quiet little suburb. There are a lot of things that point to this being premeditated, as some of you pointed out. Also, the brutality of this crime doesn't fit for self defense, in my mind. It's like she killed him 10 times over, then photographed the body, then put the camera in the wash. WTF? I'm pretty sure she's mentally ill in some way shape or form, but not in a way that makes her innocent.

Anonymous said...

Jodi is guilty of Murder 1. She premeditated this thing right down to the last detail. Maybe she went there thinking she could convince Travis to take her to Cancun instead of the other girl, and if so, she would spare him. He didn't change his mind, even after having sex with her all day, so she killed him three different ways. I definitely believe the gun shot came last, after the stabbing and slitting of his throat. She probably would've gotten away with it, at least for a bit longer, had his friends not all thought she was a creeper and said so. She needs to be locked up forever and ever.

PS I just wish the jury would go ahead and decide already! Don't they know we're all hanging on the edge of our seats?

I believe Travis was emotionally, verbally, and sexually abusive to Jodi. He strung her along. Even his roommate said everyone knew it wasn't going anywhere except Jodi. Travis was a douche.

Peridot said...

Not that he deserved to die, but in see how she was driven to kill him.

Silly Girl said...

Who cares if he's a douche, @Peridot?! Seriously?! So him being a douche gives her the right to kill him?!

nunaurbiz said...

Of course she is guilty, it's just a matter of degree, first or second. No way should the death penalty be on the table, tho. That's the unfortunate political move of Maricopa County that will cost them millions before her sentence is overturned (not conviction) and she's sent away for life without parole. (At least that's what I'm predicting.) Meantime, cold case murders and rapes go unsolved because there's no money to investigate. Yah, that's justice fer ya.

Guilty of 1st Degree Premeditated Murder and deserves the death penalty! I have followed this case from the beginning and she is a complete psychopath.
Since becoming handicapped and not able to work in my beloved legal field of law. I now find will find a case or two on tv and/or online and follow it through to completion. With the Jodi Arias trial I have seen the entire thing and to say it has been both shocking and heartbreaking is an understatement. She is a real piece of work and I can only hope his family gets the justice they so deserve.

Nessa said...

Travis did not lead Jodi along. They had broken up! Yes, they continued to have occasional sex (after she moved states to live closer to him post-break up, mind you) but I believe Jodi was manipulating him with sex. She recorded their phone sex tape to blackmail him.
So what if Travis wasn't a perfect human being? I would like an example of someone who is. Having sex with a girl does not mean that you deserve to be slaughtered, in your own home no less.
There is absolutely NO evidence to support that Travis was abusive to Jodi. His past girlfriends all still love him dearly and he has many friends who knew him for the loving, caring man that he was.
Every time Travis tried to pull farther away from Jodi she would threaten with suicide. She broke into his house several times and slashed his and his gf's tires.
It breaks my heart how Jodi and her spineless lawyers have tried to ruin Travis's name and reputation when he is the victim. Jodi forged letters in jail trying to claim they were from Travis where "he" admits to being a pedophile. They were thrown out by the court after a handwriting expert proved that they were forged. Then her mom tried to sell the fake letters to National Enquirer. You can tell that Jodi comes from great stock. The jury also doesn't get to know this little nugget, nor the bit about the tire slashing.
I do not understand how anyone could possibly formulate the opinion that Jodi deserves anything less than 1st degree and the death penalty. It was clearly premeditated. She stabbed him 29 times, slit his throat, then shot him in the head. If the jury does not come back with a guilty of 1st degree murder verdict, there is something inherently wrong with society today.

Also, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, here is a link to Travis's blog:
http://travisalexander.blogspot.com/

It's nice to read his words for a change instead of Jodi's. Also, some of what he writes is just eerie in retrospect.
This whole thing is just so tragic.

Gayeld said...

Guilty of First Degree Murder.

Gayeld said...

After OJ and Casey Anthony, I'm never sure what to expect until the verdict is actually in. My mother is an ID channel junkie and she's been saying for quite some time that Jodi was guilty.

Seachica said...

@Gayeld - my faith in the justice system has also eroded a bit from some of the high profile cases that came in "not guilty". I also worry that the heavy coverage of these cases will prevent justice, by creating an atmosphere where it's difficult to proclaim a not guilty verdict. However, in this case, the evidence clearly pointed to Jodi Arias having planned the murder.
